His innocent wife is a dangerous hacker. Chapter 949: Extra-3
Previously on His innocent wife is a dangerous hacker....
Leo, meanwhile, had a much more practical concern.
His daughter was wearing a pink dress.
.
The little princess was wrapped in pink from head to toe and Leo looked as though he had personally supervised every single detail of her outfit. His son, on the other hand, wore a light purple outfit, which was apparently acceptable to the tiny little Carrot.
The boy was already holding his beloved carrot toy.
Bella glanced at him and shook her head with a small smile.
"Your father is going to spoil you two rotten."
Leo looked at her.
"They deserve it."
"Leo, they’re only one month old."
"Exactly. They’ve had a difficult first month."
Bella turned her head toward him in shock. "...What difficult month?"
"Adjusting to this world," he said seriously.
Bella pressed her lips together, trying not to laugh.
Of course.
Only her husband could come up with such a serious explanation for spoiling two newborn babies.
Eli looked up at Leo. "Papa, did you spoil me too?"
Leo glanced at his eldest boy.
"Of course."
Eli immediately smiled. "Then I’m your spoiled baby!"
Bella laughed.
"You’re our Big Champ."
"Big Champ!" Eli repeated proudly.
Before Bella could tease Leo further, a familiar voice called out from across the room.
"Bella!"
Jason was the first to approach them with Winter beside him.
He had barely taken two steps before his eyes landed on the babies.
"Oh, my God!"
His entire face lit up. "My cutie pies! My appple sugar pies! My sweetest potatoes!"
He leaned forward, looking at the baby boy in Leo’s arms.
"Hello, little Carrot! It’s Uncle Jason!"
The baby blinked slowly.
Jason immediately clutched his chest. "HE RECOGNIZES ME!"
Winter glanced at him without expression. "He hasn’t even looked at you properly."
"That’s because he’s overwhelmed by my handsome face."
"Or he’s trying to understand why you’re shouting."
Bella burst into laughter.
Leo looked at Jason with an expression that suggested he was already regretting allowing him anywhere near his children.
"Don’t shout around them."
Jason straightened immediately.
"Yes, sir."
Then he leaned toward the baby again and whispered dramatically.
"Your father is terrifying, little one. Remember that when you grow up."
Leo’s eyes narrowed. "Jason."
"Hm?"
"Lower your voice."
Jason immediately lowered his voice. "Yes, sir."
Eli, who had been standing beside Bella, suddenly tugged at Jason’s sleeve.
"Uncle Jason!"
Jason looked down.
"Big Champ!"
Eli pointed at his little brother. "Look! He has a carrot!"
Jason nodded solemnly. "I can see that. He’s clearly a man of excellent taste."
Eli looked delighted. "Can I have a carrot too?"
Bella immediately shook her head. "You already have plenty of toys, sweetheart."
"But his carrot is special!"
Jason covered his mouth, trying to suppress his laughter.
Winter sighed, and Jason looked at her.
He had been waiting for years for her to fall in love with him. But somehow, Winter still seemed determined to make him work for every little bit of affection he received from her.
Jason had tried everything. Compliments, gifts, favors, ridiculous declarations and even attempting to behave like the sort of man he believed Winter might prefer.
Nothing seemed to work.
He had even been introduced to other women, courtesy of friends and family who had grown increasingly tired of watching him pine after someone who appeared completely unaffected by his efforts.
But Jason had rejected every single suggestion.
He wasn’t interested.
He wanted Winter.
And Winter, unfortunately for his poor heart, was still Winter.
Bella noticed the way Jason glanced at the woman beside him whenever he thought nobody was watching. There was so much affection in his expression that it was almost painful to witness.
She felt sorry for him. A little. Perhaps quite a lot.
But before she could say anything, another voice interrupted them.
"Look who’s here!"
Bella turned toward the entrance.
Archer had arrived with his six-year-old son, Adrian and Freya.
The moment Bella saw them, her smile widened.
"Archer! Freya!"
Freya immediately approached Bella, her face brightening at the sight of the babies.
"They’re so tiny!"
"Of course they’re tiny," Archer replied, walking beside her. "They’re one-month-old babies."
Freya turned toward him.
"I know that!"
"Then why are you acting surprised every time you see them?"
Freya gave him an annoyed look before turning back toward Bella.
Bella laughed softly.
Those two were certainly something.
Their relationship had been a surprise to many people, particularly because Freya had been the one to fall in love with Archer first. Over time, however, Archer had fallen for her too, and what had begun as Freya’s feelings had gradually become something much deeper between them.
Archer divorced the fake Alexa six months later, after discovering that his real wife had been dead all along and that the woman living beside him had taken her place. Surprisingly, the divorce was far more peaceful than anyone might have expected. The fake Alexa had never wanted to remain trapped in a marriage she had never truly desired and once the truth came out, she was more than happy to let Archer go. Of course, she did not leave empty-handed, taking a portion of his money as part of their settlement before walking away to enjoy the freedom she had always wanted.
After that incident, Freya and Archer were together.
Unfortunately, not everyone in Freya’s family was happy about it.
There had been disagreements and arguments on her father’s side of the family recently, and the situation had become increasingly uncomfortable.
Mama J, especially, wasn’t convinced that Archer was the right man for her niece.
There were several reasons.
First, the age difference.
Archer was thirty-three, while Freya was twenty-five. To Archer, the eight-year gap was hardly worth mentioning. To Mama J, however, it was one more reason to question the relationship.
Second, Archer already had a six-year-old son.
Adrian was a lovely child, but Mama J couldn’t ignore Archer’s past marriage and the fact that his former wife had tried to harm Bella. That history had left her suspicious of Archer’s previous relationship and concerned about the kind of complications Freya might face by becoming part of his life.
And third...
Freya had never dated anyone before.
Not once.
She had never been in love with anyone else, never had a boyfriend and had never experienced the complicated realities of a romantic relationship.
Now, suddenly, she was deeply in love with a man who already had a child and a complicated past.
Mama J was protective of her niece.
Perhaps a little too protective, according to some people.
But Freya wasn’t a little girl anymore, and she wasn’t prepared to abandon the man she loved simply because her family disapproved.
Archer knew that.
Freya knew that, and neither of them seemed willing to give up on their relationship.
As for Adrian, he appeared far less concerned with the adults’ disagreements.
He was much more interested in the babies.
He approached Bella carefully, peering at the little boy in her arms.
"Can I see him?"
Bella smiled. "Of course, sweetheart. Just be gentle."
Adrian nodded solemnly, as though he had just been entrusted with a very important mission.
Then he leaned closer.
"Hello, baby."
