His Genius Wife Is A Superstar Chapter 1675: Devil’s Whisper
Previously on His Genius Wife Is A Superstar...
Long Jinjing halted her laughter at once and tucked her head down into her shoulders. She understood perfectly the significance of her husband's wicked grin. Should she keep acting recklessly, she'd be the one facing the consequences in their bed that night.
While she relished the intimacy with her husband, his endurance proved overwhelming for her! He possessed the ability to keep her up throughout the night, delivering waves of ecstasy and fiery desire.
The wisest choice was to steer clear of riling him up.
She turned her attention to the kids, distracting them with vows of tasty treats. Additionally, she requested Robin to help Little Jun switch out of his damp outfit.
Huang Yuyan had arrived by now. Shun trailed after her, burdened with multiple gift bags.
"Amma!" Little Mochi dashed toward his grandmother.
His twin, Little Matcha, hurried after him.
"My precious grandsons! Grandma has longed for you terribly!" Huang Yuyan let her lavish designer bag drop to the ground and enveloped her twin grandsons in an embrace.
Little Misha observed his cousins clinging to their grandmother. He yearned to participate too! Once more, the plump infant thrashed his arms and legs, complicating his mother's grip on him.
In contrast, Little Dima remained calm. He stayed nestled in his father's hold, merely observing his cousins.
Lu Zihao scowled at his son's mischief in his wife's arms. "Set him down. He might strike you by mistake."
Long Jinjing pursed her lips but complied anyway. Their boy, Little Misha, certainly had a history of unintentionally whacking folks in his excitement. She gently placed her son on the floor.
The moment he touched down, Little Misha crawled swiftly toward his cousins. His pace matched that of a spider escaping danger.
"Ah, has Little Misha missed Grandma Yuyan too?" Huang Yuyan cherished the Lu twins as well. She scooped up the baby and planted kisses on both his pudgy cheeks. "Grandma Yuyan missed you too! Oof! You've gained more weight? Goodness. It looks like Grandma can't lift you any longer. Whatever shall we do?"
"Auntie Yuyan, please don't strain yourself picking him up," Long Jinjing cautioned. "You could injure yourself. Better to leave him on the ground."
As the mother, she recognized just how... well, "substantial" her sons were growing. She had grown accustomed to their heft, but others hadn't. Even her sister and their circle of friends were beginning to find carrying her children challenging.
"Okay, I understand." Huang Yuyan felt cheerful. "Where are Little Dima and Little Jun? And my sweet Ice Cream and Popcorn? What about the dogs? Grandma Yuyan brought gifts for all! Who'd like a gift?"
"Yay! Chichi!"
"Amma, chacha."
Little Mochi brimmed with thrill. He adored gifts!
His twin, Little Matcha, grinned faintly too. Though he didn't bounce about like his brother, he sneaked glances at the gift bags behind his grandmother, curious about his own.
Naturally, Little Misha refused to lag behind! He patted Grandma Yuyan's leg, pressing her to distribute the gifts quickly.
Witnessing this, Little Dima grew restless. He gazed at his daddy with his charming, pleading eyes.
Lu Zihao's gaze warmed. This child of his resembled Long Jinjing so much. He pressed a kiss to his son's brow before lowering him to the floor.
Little Dima offered a tiny smile before scooting off to unite with his brother and cousins.
As Huang Yuyan commenced handing out the gifts she'd carried, Little Jun reappeared in fresh attire. He held a hefty gray cat in his arms, while an orange cat trotted alongside him. His eyes sparkled at the sight of Huang Yuyan.
"Grandma Yanyan!"
"Oh, my Little Junjun! Ah, Ice Cream and Popcorn as well! Come give Grandma a warm hug and some kisses!"
Little Jun complied, delivering an adorable embrace and a tender peck on the cheek to Huang Yuyan. Popcorn began nuzzling against his grandmother. Ice Cream, though, meowed her grievances over the brutal exercises and bland rations in this dreadful place.
Huang Yuyan, of course, failed to comprehend feline speech. She assumed Ice Cream was simply being affectionate, much like Popcorn. She reveled in the adorableness of her grandchildren, sensing she'd attained the ultimate joy of grandmotherhood.
The dogs showed up next, freshly bathed following a rigorous training with their trainers. Each one smelled sweet and appeared plush.
"Everyone, it's mealtime!" Long Jinjing declared.
Robin and Shun had already prepared the dining table.
All present, them included, took seats and started dining.
The dogs and cats consumed their meals close by.
"Jinjing, my dear, are you aware of when Xiao Fei plans to wed my son?" Huang Yuyan inquired.
Long Jinjing wore an uneasy smile. She shot a glance at her husband next to her, seeking assistance.
He caught the glance yet couldn't decipher its intent.
"I've questioned Xiao Fei and Chonglin about their wedding date, but they offered no firm replies," Huang Yuyan pressed on with her grumbles. "Not even a rough timeline! I even chatted with my prospective in-laws, but they're clueless too! Don't say they aim for a prolonged engagement? They're no longer youths. Chonglin nears his thirties."
"Yuyan, ease up on the young ones," Grandpa Lu advised.
"But Uncle—"
"Simply rejoice that Chonglin has secured such a splendid daughter-in-law for you. Recall his string of failed romances and that near-marriage to a felon?"
Huang Yuyan fell silent instantly. Remorse gnawed at her. Her role had largely caused her younger son, Jin Chonglin, to get betrothed and nearly wed her acquaintance's daughter, Fan Luo. How could she have foreseen the girl was a culprit who had nearly slain her present daughter-in-law, Long Xiulan, in those days?
Grandpa Lu exhaled seeing her woeful look. "Yuyan, your youngest has discovered a remarkable woman. Chen Fei stands fiercely self-reliant. It's astounding she fell for your Chonglin. Allow the pair to savor their bond initially. If destiny binds them, marriage will follow naturally."
"Yes, Uncle."
Long Jinjing breathed easier. Chen Fei was her closest companion. She hoped her friend would deliberate carefully before committing to matrimony. After all, Jin Chonglin bore a notorious playboy fame in showbiz. Though he'd reformed considerably and discarded his flirtatious ways, Long Jinjing retained some doubts regarding him.
Next, she eyed her husband.
"Hm, what's the matter?" Lu Zihao arched a brow upon noticing her stare.
Her face flushed pink. Regardless of how often she beheld her husband, his allure remained sinfully captivating.
She wasn't naive or unaware. She recognized his past with numerous women before her. Maybe even a cadre of lovers. Even today, the thought of him with others choked her, despite it predating their union. It ranked among her deepest fears. Yet, via ongoing counseling, she had mastered managing such dark feelings.
It demanded a tremendous act of trust to devote herself to a man like Lu Zihao—no, Nikolai.
Yet regardless, her love for him endured. He was her spouse. Exclusively hers. Not belonging to any other. And he bestowed upon her life's grandest blessings—their twin boys.
"Hm?" Lu Zihao again detected the shift in his wife's face.
Initially, she appeared troubled, wordlessly pleading for aid on some unknown issue.
Then, she sulked as though he'd slighted her. In what manner? He hadn't a clue.
And presently, she seemed to be smitten with him anew.
Females truly overflowed with enigmas. Despite his intellect, he remained unable to fathom their thought processes.
Though his wife was tender and kind, he often found her feelings rather puzzling. No matter. His duty was solely to safeguard and nurture her along with their children.
Chatter circulated smoothly while all savored Long Jinjing's culinary creations. Huang Yuyan ceased brooding over Grandpa Lu's earlier scolding. She concentrated on doting upon the children, cats, and dogs.
The kids devoured plenty. Long Jinjing later granted each a homemade cookie as a treat. Subsequently, she and Lu Zihao guided the young ones, cats, and dogs to the upper level for rest.
Lu Zihao knew the drill well. He activated a recording of his sister's Russian lullabies. Upon hearing their mother/aunt's voice, the children started yawning and rubbing sleepy eyes until slumber claimed them all.
Long Jinjing swaddled each child, including the cats and dogs, in their blankets. Once assured everyone slept, the couple exited the room.
"Nikolai!" Long Jinjing exclaimed as a powerful arm encircled her waist, spinning her body until her back met the wall. She gazed upward to find her husband pinning her there, peering down with those enchanting, sinful eyes.
"Why did you gaze at me that way during the meal, hm?" he murmured, his tone deep and...threatening.
She gulped. "W-what...I d-didn't...."
"Heh~" He dipped his head and began teasing her flushed earlobe. "Denying it won't work."
"The kids might hear...."
"They're sleeping." He hoisted her up and bore her to a vacant bedroom.
Her back landed on the mattress, his form weighing upon her. "I'll inquire once more. Why the look during the meal?"
His words sent shivers through her. It resembled the devil murmuring directly into her ear.
