His Genius Wife Is A Superstar Chapter 1663: Discover with Jericho Maya (Part III)

Jericho Maya announced a brief pause. A quiet breath of relief slipped from Iris, one she hadn't realized she'd been suppressing. Even with Jericho's kind demeanor and professional conduct during the interview so far, Iris struggled to fully let her guard down. His methods for drawing out confessions from others struck her as perilously effective. She needed to remain watchful constantly.
Jin Liwei detected her wariness. He rushed over first, settling beside her and lending his steadfast support to ease her tension.
Her styling crew gathered around her as well. They refreshed her makeup and ensured she appeared flawlessly polished.
Dom lingered behind the camera, observing every second. He flashed Iris a double thumbs-up.
Jericho noticed him and inquired, "Can I include you in the interview with Iris next?"
"Sure thing," Dom responded. His eyes sparkled with enthusiasm.
Iris grinned, picking up on his thrill. She signaled her styling team to attend to Dom afterward.
"Hehe." Dom welcomed the styling team without hesitation. He'd finished his Orchidia Beauty routine bright and early. Aware of his upcoming interview that day, he aimed to appear stunningly attractive on camera and honor his homeland.
Once the quick intermission ended, Jericho turned to the camera and delivered a fresh opening.
"This upcoming part of the interview fills me with pride as a Filipino. Supporting a dazzling star like Iris Long is someone who keeps operations flawless, much like a conductor guiding musicians in a polished symphony. Iris Long herself notes that this individual simplifies her daily life by handling all the details, freeing her to concentrate on what truly matters most.
"Ladies and gentlemen, join me in welcoming our fellow Filipino, the trusted aide to the globally acclaimed, award-winning artist Iris Long—DOMINIC CHUA!!!"
Thunderous claps and shouts of joy burst from the crew off-camera.
Dom radiated joy and waved his neatly groomed hands toward the Filipino team rooting for him. Iris let out a light laugh at the scene.
Jericho Maya: "Welcome back to the Philippines, Dominic."
Dom: "Thanks! I really missed this place. It's truly more fun in the Philippines!"
Jericho: "Would it be okay to chat in our native tongue? Does that work for you, Iris?"
Before she could reply, Dom jumped in for her in Filipino, "I've been teaching her our language. She's not fluent yet, but she follows regular talks without issue. She'll manage just fine!"
Iris chuckled. "Feel free to converse more naturally in your own language."
Jericho stared at her in surprise. "Really, Iris? Dominic actually taught you Filipino?"
She gave a nod and uttered a handful of simple phrases in Filipino, delighting Jericho and his team immensely.
"Wow, not a trace of an accent!" Jericho praised without holding back.
"My boss is a total language prodigy!" Dom thrust his chest forward, acting as if the talent belonged to him.
Jericho let out an amused laugh. "Before diving into questions for you, Dominic, I must say I'm impressed by the tight bond you two share. Iris, you've called Dominic your best friend and assistant combined. I was skeptical until now. I figured it was just for show to please fans and reporters. But after witnessing you both, I can confirm your connection is authentic. Journalism might be my only standout skill, but I trust my instincts about people—they're spot-on about 99.99% of the time."
Iris and Dom exchanged glances and shared a quick wink.
Jericho burst into laughter, gesturing at them. "See, that's exactly what I mean!"
The pair then slapped hands in a high-five, sparking another round of relaxed chuckles from Jericho and his crew.
Jericho turned to the camera with a solemn expression. "I stake my journalistic credibility on this: the bond between Iris Long and Dominic Chua is utterly genuine. I can tell that every aspect of them rings true."
Dom flipped his imaginary long locks. "Naturally, our friendship is the real deal! My boss doesn't do pretense. If she dislikes you, she'll say it straight up!"
Jericho: "I've heard tales of your straightforwardness, Iris."
Iris lifted her shoulders in a shrug. "That's just who I am. Folks have noted I've softened since tying the knot with my husband and starting motherhood with our little ones. I'd say I've grown better at picking my fights. Not all conflicts deserve the energy."
Dom lifted both hands high. "Preach!"
Jericho: "Sound advice. Alright, Dominic, prepared for some questions?"
Dom: "I'm always set—that's my guiding principle! Hit me with them, Jericho!"
Yet another burst of laughter followed.
Jericho began by probing how Dominic encountered Iris and stepped into her assistant role. Dominic shared the full truth. Naturally, his perspective on Iris came through highly flattering glasses. Every detail about Boss Iris was incredible, and anyone thinking differently had to be sightless.
The entire room hung on every word of the back-and-forth between Jericho and Dom.
Jericho: "Having covered how you joined forces as THE Iris Long's key supporter, could you both explain how you turned into such close friends?"
Iris spoke up first. "It developed organically as we collaborated and shared daily routines. Long before my husband entered the scene, Dom was already by my side."
Jericho: "Oh, really? So, Dominic, you witnessed the romance between Iris and Liam?"
Dom: "Absolutely, I was right there. And I rooted for them from day one!"
Jericho: "I'll circle back to that soon, but first, back to the main point. Dominic, what ran through your mind when you became Iris Long's closest friend?"
Dom: "It didn't change much for me that she's famous. Prior to committing to Boss Iris, my Chinese uncle fretted that I'd struggle."
Jericho: "And what prompted that?"
Iris: "Let me handle this. My image wasn't great at the time. In short, I came off as a self-centered, pampered troublemaker who always demanded her desires. Offending people didn't faze me if it meant getting my wishes."
That described the old Iris Long, not her present self. Still, she never avoided owning up to the original's flaws. Only by doing so could she wash away the lingering stains on that reputation.
Dom agreed with a nod. "At first, I hesitated over partnering with someone as notorious as Boss Iris. I questioned if we'd click. Yet I resolved to demonstrate my worth and forge a path forward. Whether my boss was bratty or not didn't sway me. I'd braced myself to grind, stash cash, and thrive. Luckily, it all fell into place perfectly. I landed the greatest boss ever and scored a lifelong best friend to boot."
Jericho observed their shared smiles. "How heartwarming. This happens to be a top query from Filipino followers. They'll love that I brought it up today. The Black Stars, isn't that their name?"
Iris: "Right, Dom and his relatives launched Black Stars Philippines, and I'll always be thankful for it."
Jericho posed a related query but kept it brief, since Iris had covered similar ground in recent interviews.
"Time for the next one," he announced. "Dominic, you mentioned witnessing the pursuit between Iris and Liam. What was it like?"
Dom let out a squeal and fidgeted in his chair. Jericho's team edged closer, eager not to miss a beat.
A secondary camera captured Jin Liwei off to the side. His face stayed cool and detached as usual, but the faint smile tugging at his lips revealed his true feelings.
Dom: "It was incredibly intense! I won't spill too many private details, but I caught it all! Their romance outshines the hottest TV love stories! Full of heartbreak and drama, plus hilarious moments that crack you up, and heaps of swoony romance that leaves me swimming in sweetness! Kyaaaaah!
"These days, with them wed, I feel like a proud parent seeing their kids claim their fairy-tale ending. Their adorable tots are the cherry on top! As their uncle, I'd hand them the stars if they wished. Though with parents like Boss Iris and Sir Boss Liam, material goodies are already theirs for the taking. My role is supporting Boss Iris and Sir Boss Liam in shaping their kids into self-reliant, upright grown-ups."
Jericho: "Does that mean you're deeply hands-on with Iris and Liam's children?"
Dom: "Yep. I'm fortunate that Boss Iris and Sir Boss Liam treat me like kin, not staff."
Iris and Jin Liwei both nodded in agreement with Dom.
Jericho: "How touching."
Dom: "I adore their little ones as if they were mine. I'd lay down my life for them. They're precious and already know me as their gorgeous Uncle Dom."
Jericho: "Now you've got me dying to catch a glimpse of the twins."
Iris eyed Jericho thoughtfully for a moment before questioning, "Are you serious about wanting to see my children?"
Jericho's eyes sparkled. "Yes! If that's alright?"
Iris looked toward her husband. He assessed Jericho briefly before approving with a nod.
"I'll share some pictures of them," she offered. "Just with you."
Jericho bobbed his head eagerly, resembling a bobbing bird. "Please! It'd be an incredible privilege."
