His Genius Wife Is A Superstar Chapter 1644: Strong Work Ethics

Iris Long was warmly welcomed by her Filipino fans as she participated in media interviews about Orchidia Philippines' upcoming launch. She passionately shared details about her brand's new mosquito-repelling product line, inspired by her family's experiences with dengue. Meanwhile, she impressed company executives with her keen understanding of the market and product strategies. As fans awaited her outside, Iris demonstrated her generosity by providing refreshments for everyone in the intense heat. The visit solidified her reputation as a savvy businesswoman, proving her to be more than just a talented celebrity.

Following her visit to the Orchidia Philippines headquarters, Iris Long and her companions made their way to a local restaurant nearby. Linda Chua joined the group along with several other company executives.

The schedule for Iris that day was packed to the brim. Once they finished a hasty lunch, she and her entourage bid the others farewell to begin a series of media appearances. Linda Chua came along to act as their guide, having been the primary architect of the publicity strategy.

Between rapid-fire guest interviews on various news segments and a photoshoot for a magazine, Iris Long found the day both productive and draining. Nevertheless, she flourished in such a fast-paced setting where she could simultaneously grow her business and connect with more Filipino Black Stars.

Evening had already arrived by the time her responsibilities were concluded.

"What do you want to eat, love?" Jin Liwei inquired. As they sat in the rear passenger seat of the vehicle, he reached down to help her take off her high-heeled shoes.

"Let’s just eat dinner at the hotel restaurant," Iris replied, letting out a satisfied sigh as her husband started to massage her feet. "I’m too tired. I just want to take a hot shower, go to bed, and sleep after dinner."

"Alright." Jin Liwei didn't stop kneading his wife’s aching feet.

During a small gap in her schedule earlier that day, Iris had reached out to Long Jinjing. She spoke with her twins, who began to cry the moment they caught sight of her and their father on the screen. Iris was on the verge of canceling her Philippine tour to fly home immediately. It took the combined persuasion of Jin Liwei and Long Jinjing to make her stay, though she did so with great reluctance.

It was fortunate that she chose to listen to them.

Once she regained her composure, she realized she had nearly acted on a whim. These work commitments in the Philippines had been personally vetted and signed by her. Walking away would have not only stained the reputation of Orchidia but also compromised her own professional integrity.

Placing a high value on her strong work ethics, she viewed abandoning her duties without a legitimate reason as something she never wished to do.

She had to push down the longing for her children and focus on comforting them. It required a massive amount of professionalism to push through the day's obligations while her heart was screaming to be with her babies.

Luckily, her husband provided a constant sense of security. His mere presence was often enough to settle her inner restlessness.

Returning to the present, Iris gave Long Jinjing another call. To her disappointment, the little ones were already asleep. Long Jinjing moved the camera to show the cousins tucked in with the cats and dogs, all sleeping in a tidy row on the bed.

"Don’t worry, little sister," Long Jinjing assured her. "Little Mochi and Little Matcha didn’t stay too upset after your earlier video call with them. Zihao brought the kids to the training ground and let them watch the handlers training their dogs. The kids loved watching their dogs doing so many cool new tricks for the first time. They also ate a lot and didn’t cry when it was time to wash up."

Iris exhaled in relief. "Thank you, Big Sister."

When the call concluded, Iris drifted off for a brief nap in her husband’s embrace. Jin Liwei eventually woke her when the car pulled up at their hotel.

Thanks to the hotel's reinforced security, Iris and her team enjoyed a relatively quiet entrance. No reporters, fans, or paparazzi were there to catch them off guard.

Jin Liwei had ensured prior to their trip that their accommodations would strictly protect his wife’s privacy. The hotel, which Linda Chua had recommended, treated Iris Long and her group as super VIPs and had agreed to bolster their security protocols specifically for her stay.

After a quick refresh in their respective rooms, Iris, Jin Liwei, and the entourage met at the hotel restaurant for dinner. Lin Yehan joined them at the table.

"How was your day today, Eldest Brother?" Iris inquired during the meal.

"It went well," Lin Yehan answered. "Domingo introduced me to a distant cousin of his. Our talks were productive. Tomorrow, they are taking me to meet several agricultural trading firms that fit my requirements."

Jin Liwei asked for further details, and Lin Yehan recounted the day's events.

"Your father was a massive help," Lin Yehan mentioned to Dom. "He is coming with me again tomorrow. I tried to invite him to join us for dinner tonight, but he turned it down, saying he preferred to dine with his family. Since I wasn't sure when you all would be back, I didn't invite the Chuas to join us here."

"It’s okay, Eldest Brother," Iris remarked. "We will organize another gathering with the Chuas before we depart the Philippines."

"That’s good, then." Lin Yehan gave a smile. "I want to find a way to show my gratitude to Domingo. Being a businessman, I could tell how sharp that cousin from the main Chua family was just by his eyes. The discussion might not have been so smooth without Domingo’s help. I could tell the cousin was looking for any opportunity to take advantage of me."

His wife, Jiang Ying Yue, gave his arm a supportive pat. She didn't involve herself in his business dealings as it wasn't her area of expertise, offering her presence instead.

He looked at her with a gentle, loving expression. "I spoke with Fifth Brother earlier. It sounds like our son is having a wonderful time at his Uncle Haohao’s place."

The look on Jiang Ying Yue’s face softened. "Yes, I called Jinjing as well. Little Jun is fascinated watching his master train with Sir Zihao’s other men. He really idolizes his Uncle Haohao."

As the couple spoke about their son’s excitement at her brother’s home, Iris couldn't help but sigh. While she was glad Little Jun was happy, the memory of her own twins crying made her heart ache. Furthermore, it seemed Ice Cream was feeling quite low after two days of a strict diet and a demanding boot camp.

The urge to pack her things and fly home to her babies struck her once more. However, she recognized that such impulsiveness would only cause complications. She steeled her resolve to finish her professional duties in the Philippines.

"You okay, love?" Jin Liwei asked, pulling her closer with an arm around her shoulders.

"Just missing our kids," she replied softly.

"I miss them, too," he admitted. "But remember that they’re in good hands."

"I know."

He pressed a kiss to her forehead before summoning a waiter to order chamomile tea to help soothe his wife’s anxiety.

Once dinner was over, the group retired to their rooms.

Iris took a long, relaxing soak in the bathtub.

Jin Liwei considered joining her for a moment but decided against it. He could see how exhausted she was. Even though he craved her company every second, he knew she needed some solitary time to decompress.

While his wife bathed, Jin Liwei moved to the living area of the suite. Dom was there, busy on the phone with Linda discussing the itinerary for the next day. Jin Liwei sat on a different sofa and began scrolling through his emails.

When Dom finished his call, Jin Liwei asked, "Everything set for tomorrow?"

"Yes, Sir Boss!" Dom signaled with a thumbs up. "The schedule will be a bit more intense for Boss, but my sister has confirmed all the details. There shouldn't be any problems. The only things we can't control are the weather and the traffic, so we need to stay alert, especially since all of Boss's appearances tomorrow are live."

"En." Jin Liwei nodded in approval. "Thanks for the hard work. Go to sleep now."

"Good night, Sir Boss!"

Dom grabbed his phone and went straight to his room.

Jin Liwei checked the time and figured his wife would be finished with her bath. When he entered the bedroom, she was indeed done. She was wearing an Orchidia Beauty bestseller sheet mask while drying her hair.

He took the hairdryer from her to finish the job while she completed her skincare. Noticing her eyes drooping, he finished up and carried her to the bed.

"Good night, love," he murmured, giving her lips a soft kiss.

Her breathing soon became deep and steady.

Jin Liwei stroked her fragrant, soft hair before quietly heading to the shower himself.

The following day proved to be just as busy. The weather, however, was miserable. Rain poured down relentlessly as if there were no end in sight. Fortunately, there was no thunder, just a constant deluge of water.

The glam team once again assisted Iris in her preparations. Today’s look involved heavier makeup, a more intricate hairstyle, and a dress far more lavish than the previous day's. Although the prep took more time, Iris didn't have to worry about the clock with Dom managing everyone down to the last second.

Their first destination was a famous early morning variety and news program titled "It’s Morning, Philippines". The show had been a staple of television for over a quarter-century.

The most critical factor was that it was a live broadcast. Any blunder by the guests or hosts would be broadcast to the nation without a safety net. It was the kind of environment that could make or break a person who couldn't handle the pressure.

Usually, however, the veteran hosts were skilled at keeping things smooth and making sure the guests felt at ease.

This would be the first day that Linda wouldn't be accompanying them.

Dom took the lead in guiding Iris into the studio, and despite never having been there, he followed his sister’s precise directions perfectly.
