Xia Qingqian reluctantly feeds Beitang Yao porridge, but he uses reverse psychology to get her to join him. He then surprises her by offering to make her noodles, even asking for her help in the kitchen. Xia Qingqian is touched by his unexpected domestic skills.

Before Xia Qingqian on the dining table sat a steaming, aromatic bowl of noodles. Its appearance was exquisite, crowned with a perfectly cooked egg and bright garnishes of tomatoes and chopped green onions, making it almost too beautiful to eat.

This particular dish was a personal creation of Beitang Yao. Xia Qingqian gazed at the bowl as if it were a precious artifact, her eyes reflecting a soft, luminous glow.

"Why have you zoned out?" Beitang Yao observed her vacant stare and gently reached out, his fingers brushing her forehead. "Quick, taste it and tell me how it is."

"It smells divine and tastes delicious!" she exclaimed with generous praise.

"You haven't even picked up your chopsticks yet. How can you possibly know if it smells or tastes good?" A suppressed chuckle escaped him as he elegantly picked up the chopsticks and offered them to her. "This marks the first time I've ever cooked for a woman."

As he spoke, a subtle warmth colored his cheeks, but he quickly masked it, his gaze shifting to the bowl of porridge before him, which he began to sip.

Xia Qingqian had initially felt a sense of unease simply witnessing him engage in cooking. It seemed incongruous, a man resembling a deity performing such mundane tasks. Now, hearing his admission, her mind reeled, and her emotions surged. Her eyes grew moist, and she couldn't help but choke back a sob, "Yao, thank you!"

"Will a single bowl of noodles truly bring you to tears? Finish eating, then rest. We'll head home together tomorrow," he said in a gentle tone.

"Didn't you initially plan to depart the day after tomorrow?" Her heart fluttered as she slowly savored the smooth noodles.

"All pressing matters have been resolved; there's no reason to linger here," he replied, his eyes lifting slightly to cast a deep gaze upon her before he raised the bowl to finish the last of the porridge.

This bowl of millet porridge was a rare delicacy for him. Having eaten little throughout the day, his stomach churning with discomfort, the simple millet porridge served as a much-needed remedy.

Xia Qingqian watched his every move. Though his action of lifting the bowl to drink might typically be considered unrefined, the way Beitang Yao executed it was imbued with such grace and charm that it was captivating.

"What are you staring at? Haven't you ever seen someone eat before?" He gently set the bowl down on the table, placing the spoon beside it. His attention returned to her untouched bowl, a flicker of displeasure crossing his features. "Didn't you just say it was delicious? Why haven't you started eating?"

"Young Master, there's more porridge in the kitchen. I'll fetch some for you," she offered, having observed him finish his entire bowl.

A shadow crossed his face. "Xia Qingqian, what did you just call me, hmm?"

Feeling the intensity of his cold gaze, she quickly stood and moved towards the kitchen. "I'll get the porridge for you, don't go to waste!" she said, attempting a hasty retreat.

However, her wrist was suddenly ensnared by a hand as strong and unyielding as a vine, holding her fast. She turned, her heart plummeting as she met Beitang Yao's stern expression, inwardly lamenting her repeated blunders.

"You keep making the same mistake. Are you intentionally trying to provoke my punishment?" With a slight increase in pressure, she was drawn into his embrace. He held her close, nipping her earlobe in a playful yet firm warning. "If you dare do this again, I won't concern myself with your injuries and will take you right then and there!"

A shiver of fear coursed through Xia Qingqian, her face paling. She realized with chilling clarity that Beitang Yao seemingly viewed her merely as an outlet for his desires. A minor slip-up on her part warranted such a severe reprimand. Xia Qingqian cautioned herself, a stark lesson for any woman: unless absolutely unavoidable, steer clear of provoking individuals like these powerful CEOs. The potential for heartbreak is simply too immense!
