Heaven, Earth, Me Chapter 1661. Placing Asterion to Sleep and Self Reflection.
Previously on Heaven, Earth, Me...
Asterion ate the meat dish in front of him with his grown, sharp teeth. Looking around with eyes almost identical to Yasenia’s, he asked. "Where is Mother Tatyana?"
The girls coughed a bit, and Yasenia smiled. "She is... resting. I was playing with her for two weeks, and now she is tired."
Asterion pouted. "I am jealous! I want to play with Mommy too!"
Andrea choked on her food, coughing. Yasenia gently patted Andrea’s back with her tail while feeding Asterion. "We can play later, love. But you are too young to play for that long. Baby needs to sleep and do well~."
Asterion smiled happily, his dragon tail wagging back and forth.
After dinner and brushing his teeth, Yasenia picked up her baby boy and smiled. "Alright, let’s go to sleep now."
Asterion obediently wrapped his arms around Yasenia’s neck and nodded. "Alright!"
Mother and son went to bed and lay by each other’s side. Yasenia brought Asterion into her arms, using her tail to circle around him without bothering him. Feeling protected, Asterion took a deep breath and sighed pleasantly.
"How was your day today, love?"
Asterion looked up with bright, golden eyes. "Fun! The golemns that Mommy gave me are very fun to fight!"
Those golems were a few Yasenia got in the treasury of the Death Dunes Empire. They were far too strong, so the girls had spent the last few years modifying some of them to the Second Level of the Transcendence Realm.
Asterion was at the first level, so it was perfect for the golems to be strong enough for Asterion to be unable to beat. The golems, after all, were created with two purposes in mind. The first was training the population; the second was fighting the Abyssal Human.
So, the golem knew how to restrain its strength to a certain degree and help with Asterion’s training.
"Then... How is your study going?"
Asterion scrunched his nose, causing Yasenia to laugh. "It’s... good."
"Sure~. That face totally gives me the idea that you are doing well."
Asterion pouted. "Mommy! But why do I need to study the history of the Sky Continent? There are also so many languages to learn!"
Yasenia gave Asterion’s pouty lips a peck, causing him to laugh. Then, she smiled and explained, passing her hand through his soft, black hair. "The reason is simple, love. Sky Continent is where Mommy was born. It is also a place we need to go eventually and is very important. So, my intelligent little Aster must learn well."
Asterion blinked. "Where Mommy was born?"
Yasenia nodded. "Mhm."
"Then... Does Mommy have a Mom and Dad?"
Yasenia smiled. "Yes, Mother Tatyana is my Mom."
There was no reason to hide it. It could make Asterion get the wrong ideas, but he was an intelligent child. As long as Yasenia explained things well, as she did with her other children, they wouldn’t really find it strange.
"...Hm?" Asterion tilted his head. "I see... So, should I call Mother Tatyana as Grandma Tatyana?"
Yasenia laughed. "If you do that, she will spank your butt. So you better keep the original way of calling her."
Asterion didn’t really understand it yet, but he nodded. "Alright!"
"Now, sleep, love."
Her hand gently patted his back, hugging him close to her chest. Asterion used his short limbs to hug Yasenia back and yawned once, falling asleep shortly after while surrounded by Yasenia’s scent.
After Yasenia felt Asterion falling into deep sleep, she slowly peeled her baby away from her and stood up. Leaning down to give his forehead a gentle kiss, Yasenia whispered lovingly. "Goodnight, Aster."
Outside, a group of four maids waited for Yasenia. The bathroom routine was done in the mornings, so they were not showing any impatience or anything. Instead, Eira asked. "Where are you going to go now, Young Miss?"
Yasenia usually spent the nights cultivating or Dual Cultivating with her lovers. She needed to push into the Fifth Level soon to relieve that bloated feeling. Tonight, though, Yasenia felt like doing nothing.
"Let’s go to the garden."
They were still in the desert city, but Yasenia’s maids had changed the surroundings into a nice garden. So, even in this place, there was enough vibrancy in the garden to feel comfortable.
As for bothersome things from the outside, there was absolutely no one nearby who didn’t know not to provoke the Dravory Family state.
So, Yasenia walked outside, the Moon hanging in the sky. The crescent Moon looked beautiful and gentle in Yasenia’s eyes, causing her to look up with a thoughtful look.
She was here to evaluate herself. Enough time had passed since her last adventure, and now it was time for an objective evaluation.
"I did well, but many things were rushed. No choice this time, though. Asterion was waiting for my return."
In that regard, Yasenia didn’t have complaints with her attitude or actions. There was one thing Yasenia felt unsatisfied about.
"Lately... Haven’t I been a touch too murderous?"
Yasenia didn’t consider herself a good person, but she also had not considered herself an evil being. If anything, Yasenia considered herself selfish and ruthless. So, if it was for her own gain, she would stop at nothing to achieve it. But otherwise, Yasenia was quite indifferent and prone to help if she could. At least, as long as there was something to get rewarded for, Yasenia could perfectly act as a savior and do it willingly.
"But my anger has been escalating far too much."
In Kali’s situation, Yasenia didn’t blame herself too much. That moment made all her senses stretch taut, and the release was the destruction of that Empire. They weren’t at fault, but Yasenia didn’t regret her actions back then.
Destroying everything left her heart light, as if she had erased a past she didn’t want to recall.
But... "Even if the Eight Guardians played me, destroying their entire civilization was a bit of an overreaction."
Yasenia was critical of herself. The hardest critic was herself, not anyone else. So, she willingly admitted her faults and sat cross-legged, closing her eyes to enter her mindscape.
The mindscape was not the soul, just a special place where one’s actions gathered to create one’s self. The place Yasenia visited Tatyana, and where she was chained, was Tatyana’s mindscape.
Naturally, Yasenia had her own.
Closing her eyes, Yasenia could see a beautiful world with clear skies. Even then, the image of the Moon, Sun, and Stars was prominent, along with many other constellations and images.
Even with daylight, they were perfectly visible.
Then, in front of Yasenia, she could see a large, comfortable house on top of a small hill. The figures of her lovers, children, and maids were easily noticeable.
Yasenia turned around, and the scenery flipped. Behind her, Yasenia could see a massive lake of blood, corpses, and death. Looking at all the death she had caused, Yasenia’s heart didn’t waver.
The reason Yasenia didn’t have Heart Demons and her Will was so strong was that Yasenia accepted all her faults. The most dangerous moment in that regard was when the Sun and Moon Deities entrapped her, almost successfully using her hidden child to strike her mind.
Without fear or guilt, Yasenia walked into the large lake of blood and death. As she did, the hands of the innocents she killed grabbed at her limbs without much effect.
"Distancia, Kali’s world, and many other sects and people... I’ve killed a lot of individuals."
Her face was calm, her eyes placid. Even as the hands of death reached out to her, they were unable to slow down her walk around her landscape. This place was shaped by her actions, but at the same time, it was under her control.
Only those with Heart Demons could be affected in their mindspaces.
"I need to review my ways of punishing those who anger me."
She couldn’t flip and suddenly destroy an entire world. If she did that, Karma would eventually catch up and place either her or her lovers in danger. Even now, the amount of death Yasenia had created was far too large.
"It doesn’t affect me, though."
Her strength was far too high for Karma of this level to affect her. She was not fearful of it. Even if it came, Yasenia would deal with it.
Regardless, a slight shift in mindset was necessary. "I am not immature enough to need Andrea or the other girls to hold me back."
The thing that pushed her to her current decision was Andrea holding her back. Her Darling was gentle and empathetic, but she usually didn’t really get in her way. "The fact that she stepped forward and the rest of the girls didn’t argue, including Tatyana, was because I was about to cross a line I shouldn’t.
Yasenia reached down to the hand of a faceless child reaching out from the pool of blood. She patted that unknown child’s head. "Yeah. Unless you were a direct family of those who angered me, your death is quite unjust, isn’t it?"
Exterminating the family was something Yasenia would continue to do. Leaving dregs behind was a perfect way to create an avenger that could strike you when you least expected it. "But, I can’t destroy the entire city if it doesn’t have much relation with that family, can I?"
The child trying to drag Yasenia down into the blood she was stepping on was pushed back down by Yasenia’s tail. Then, the dragoness continued walking, her face calm.
"Alright. This was a good reflection day."
Yasenia stopped, closed her eyes, and opened them again to reality. Looking up, she noticed the sky starting to light up. "The night passed by."
Ruminations about her state of mind took a long time. It was something Yasenia didn’t mind spending time on. Mindset was, after all, one of the most important qualities for a cultivator.
Eira asked softly. "Was your meditation successful, Young Miss?"
Glancing at the white-haired and white-eyed girl, Yasenia used her tail to pick her up and place her on her lap. Then, with a smile, she hugged her and kissed her cheek. "Yes. It was a good time to review my actions until now."
Eira blinked and blurted. "Young Miss’s actions are always perfect and flawless."
Yasenia laughed, rubbing her nose with Eira. "Thank you for saying that, Eira. But you still need to evaluate me a bit more objectively, alright?"
Eira blinked and nodded, blushing a tad. Because she was so fair, her blushes were very noticeable.
Seeing that expression, Yasenia’s eyes deepened. "Today is your turn, isn’t it?"
She stood up with Eira in her arms and then looked back at the other three maids. "Come with me. We are going to take a bath together to refresh our minds~."
The maids gulped and eagerly followed. Those who had tails began wagging them rapidly.
