Yasenia confronts Kali about Xa Tian, leading to a tense reunion. While Yasenia is outwardly cold, her heart struggles with complex emotions, spurred by the revelation of Kali's soulmate connection and past interactions with Xa Tian. Kali, in turn, is deeply distressed by Yasenia's reaction and attempts to reassure her of her unwavering love and loyalty as she prepares to explain everything.

Kali’s thoughts settled, her arms unwavering around Yasenia, as though releasing the embrace would cause Yasenia to vanish like mist under the sun’s glare. With her mind calm but her heart still fluttering with apprehension, Kali finally met the dragoness’s expressionless gaze and spoke.

"It happened about twenty years ago," Kali began. "I encountered someone I’d never seen before during a meeting. Suddenly, as we got close, my bloodline reacted to his, forcefully creating a soulmate resonance."

Noticing Yasenia’s impassive demeanor, Kali moistened her dry lips and continued, "So, after that occurred, I warned him to keep silent. However, that man held a rather high position. Ultimately, he revealed it to everyone."

Recalling the incident, Kali couldn’t suppress a surge of anger. ’If only he had stayed quiet…’

Then, with a slight shake of her head, she proceeded, "Consequently, I attempted to eliminate him instantly. Alas, his father, who was somewhat more powerful than I was at the time, intercepted the strike that contained my full might. That man was only at the second level of the Mythical Core Beast Realm; he would have certainly perished otherwise."

A hint of regret flickered that the blow hadn't landed. Yasenia continued to listen, despite her numerous reservations about Kali's methods. Listen first, then question. Yasenia was determined not to let her impulsiveness create any rifts between herself and her loved ones.

"Back then, the situation was quite volatile. In the end, I didn't press the matter further. Later, after things settled, that man’s father discreetly protected him before they departed. From that point on, he was beyond my reach."

Kali met Yasenia’s eyes but observed only faint ripples, nothing more. So, she carried on.

"It wasn't until a few years later that we crossed paths again. By then, Xa Tian arrived with a retinue of bodyguards. My sect had been somewhat cornered by then, and he had come with the intention of offering assistance. However, how could I possibly accept help from him? That was out of the question."

"Why?"

Yasenia inquired pointedly, prompting a self-deprecating smile from Kali. "I am aware of the potent nature of beast instincts. Therefore, if I allowed him to advance even a single step closer, no matter how small, I feared the consequences. I trust myself not to be swayed, but I cannot vouch for a bloodline beyond my complete command. Even if the probability is less than 0.1%, I refuse to take that risk. Thus, to minimize any contact with him, I simply repelled him with a kick and ordered him to leave."

Yasenia gazed at Kali’s wry smile, her heart aching. She raised her arms and finally returned Kali’s embrace.

Kali initially stiffened, then her eyes welled up as tears streamed freely down her face. "I, *hic*, I truly didn't want anything to happen. So, I, *hic*, sealed myself away. I don't even know if my sect survived... I just, I feared being near that man."

Kali genuinely felt fear back then. If her body could react so erratically, what about her mind? Could the soulmate bond corrupt her feelings for Yasenia? Would her emotions shift subtly, akin to a frog being slowly boiled?

Consequently, Kali chose to retreat, to never confront the issue. She resolved to seal herself away and await Yasenia’s arrival to be taken to safety.

Sensing Kali's trembling form within her arms, Yasenia's heart softened as she finally grasped the emotions driving Kali’s past actions. To continue blaming her after such a confession would be unforgivable.

Holding her close, Yasenia drew her into her bosom and spoke gently, "I understand. I apologize, Honey, for my earlier reaction. I, too... was frightened. When I learned you had become soulmates with someone while I was investigating, my heart seized. Countless 'what ifs' flooded my mind, and though I resisted believing them, they gnawed at me."

Now that Kali had laid bare her deepest fears, Yasenia felt compelled to reciprocate. Kali continued to weep, partly from the release of pent-up tension and partly from the pain of imagining Yasenia's suffering during that time. "S-Sorry, this wretched body of mine, t-trying to... I truly, *hic*, despise it."

Yasenia recognized that Kali was teetering on the edge of despair and could not allow her to spiral further. Kali had been emotionally fragile when she was first discovered. The process of healing her fox form had been arduous and time-consuming. Therefore, Yasenia would not permit this situation to dredge up past traumas or manifest a new Heart Demon.

With understanding now clear, Yasenia vowed to prevent Kali from succumbing to despair. "Don't say that, my love. Your bloodline is remarkable, and so is your body."

"N-No, I—"

Yasenia smiled, gently kissing away Kali's tears. "If you weren't exceptional, how could our precious Diana have been born?"

Kali's eyes immediately fluttered, her swirling thoughts abruptly ceasing. Yasenia, resting her forehead against Kali's, offered a tender and gentle smile. The love that had been overshadowed by prior bitterness now bloomed with full force.

"Isn't that right, Honey? Your bloodline and mine blended so beautifully, giving birth to our cherished Diana. She is such a singular and exquisite beast, wouldn't you agree?"

Kali's maternal affection surged powerfully, forcefully suppressing and crushing the self-loathing. The nascent Heart Demon was thus obliterated. With Diana in mind, Kali quickly nodded, though she still stammered slightly. "Y-Yes. Diana is a beautiful ch-child."

Yasenia chuckled, planting a kiss upon Kali's tear-dampened lips. "That's right. If Diana is magnificent, then naturally, her mother must be equally so."

Kali's five fox tails began to sway behind her, even as her eyes welled with unshed tears. She became somewhat bashful, sniffling. "R-Really? Don't you ha-hate that my bo-body seems inclined to betray you?"

Yasenia embraced her tightly. "Betray me?" The dragoness finally began to emanate the natural allure she had been holding back, ensuring it wouldn't disrupt their conversation. "I dare it to even attempt betrayal."

The moment Yasenia's innate charm, unenhanced and untransformed, surged forth, Kali's pupils instantly widened. Yasenia's scent infiltrated her slightly moist nose, while Yasenia's eyes became utterly mesmerizing.

Her body, seemingly beyond her control, immediately began to feel warm, her tails wagging furiously behind her. Her fox ears twitched, flicking back and forth as Kali's green eyes took in Yasenia's present beauty.

Her heart pounded, her cheeks flushed, and her thoughts nearly ceased, save for the overwhelming realization of Yasenia's stunning appearance.

Yasenia, pulling back slightly with a confident smile, inquired again. "What is my little fox's body conveying right now, hmm?"

Kali stammered, her blush extending down to her neck. "B-Beautiful."

Yasenia's gaze softened, and a deep smile spread across her face. "See? Your playful bloodline merely forgot whose it truly belonged to because I took a little too long. I dare it to recognize another soulmate now that I am near you. Do you believe it would dare?"

Kali shook her head swiftly, her tails also swaying from side to side. It truly felt as if her body was currently exclaiming with joy: "Yasenia is the best! Only Yasenia reigns supreme!"

Observing her in this state, Yasenia chuckled softly and produced a handkerchief to wipe Kali's face and nose. Kali honestly blew her nose, her verdant green eyes fixated on Yasenia's captivating visage.

After finally cleaning her face, Yasenia nodded and then lowered her head to align with Kali's. Then, with a serious expression, she spoke, her gaze intense. "I will eliminate Xa Tian and his entire lineage."

Kali's tails froze mid-sway, and then she shook her head. "You shouldn't."

Yasenia inquired patiently. "Why not?"

Kali articulated her preceding thoughts. "...like this, we can leave him behind and put this issue behind us. We can depart, forget about him, and resume our lives."

Yasenia shook her head with a gentle smile. "I will not leave him alive because of that."

Kali appeared confused, asking with an innocent gaze. "Why not? Isn't this the most optimal resolution?"

"Perhaps," Yasenia acknowledged with a nod. In the very next instant, her gaze turned fiercely possessive, causing Kali to hiccup. "But I do not wish for your soulmate to even exist. Should such a person exist, I will eliminate them and anything else that obstructs my path to their demise. No matter how many times it transpires, I shall kill, kill, and continue killing until no soulmates remain for Heaven to bestow upon you other than myself."

Kali's face burned, her heart thrumming at Yasenia's ruthless yet utterly thrilling declaration. She understood that if Yasenia were not already claimed, her body would have clung to Yasenia like an octopus. She could sense her own pheromones being broadcast quite erratically towards Yasenia at this very moment, causing her considerable shame.

Kali noticed Yasenia's nose twitch, followed by a deep smile that made her face flush even more intensely. 'H-How mortifying!'

Yasenia spoke once more, her eyes fixed on Kali with an air of overwhelming dominance. "Therefore, I will kill him. Is that understood?"

Kali nodded instantly. 'Whatever! If Yasenia wishes to kill, then let us proceed with the killing! Why should there be any hesitation?'

"Good girl." Yasenia kissed her nose, nearly prompting Kali to squeal with exhilaration. She felt her five tails wagging so rapidly that the grass behind her was being flattened by the resultant wind.

With that matter settled, Yasenia extended her arms, embraced Kali, lifted her feet from the ground, and passionately kissed her lips. Finally, the pent-up longing erupted, and Yasenia attacked Kali's lips with fervent eagerness.

Kali was initially taken aback, but soon, she wrapped her legs and arms around Yasenia, reciprocating the deep kiss and whimpering in sheer delight.

The last few minutes had been an emotional rollercoaster for both Kali and Yasenia. Now, holding and kissing the gentle dragoness, Kali’s frayed nerves finally settled as she melted into Yasenia’s affectionate embrace.

Sensing the deep yearning between them, Yasenia and Kali wasted no time heading towards the wooden house and Kali’s chambers. Although Yasenia hadn't planned for things to escalate this far, she intensely desired to claim Kali, to imbue her beloved fox with her scent so strongly that no one else would dare approach.

As for Xa Tian, he could linger for a few more weeks; it made no difference to Yasenia. His demise was sealed, an unchangeable fate. Anyone foolish enough to interfere would inevitably meet their end at Yasenia’s hands.

Meanwhile, outside the dwelling, a tense vigil was kept by the assembled group. As they stood in anxious anticipation, the relentless march of time continued.

One day passed… then two… and finally, a full week elapsed…

By the time a week had passed, Tatyana and the others had eased their concerns. They could quite accurately surmise the intimate activities unfolding within. With a collective sigh of relief, they established a makeshift camp. Tatyana, in the interim, dispatched Feixue into the depths of the seal, intending to utilize the oppressive environment for her cultivation and tempering.
