Forbidden Island
Swoosh!
We moved past the place. We didn’t stop until we left the area of the sleeping monster, but we had yet to leave the forest cover.
The dense canopy still covered the area endlessly. We still needed Hank’s help, but I didn’t know why I had this feeling that danger was lurking nearby.
I pushed away the thought of bringing Hank back to this place. I had decided to explore alone.
Next, I brought the zero puppet along with me. We started moving forward. I instructed the system to alert me if any situation arose.
Swoosh!
We were heading forward. I was using my flight ability, my feet hovering a few inches off the ground. Meanwhile, my mana was shielded by the system.
No one could sense me right now unless they spotted me with their own eyes. The zero puppet, in its red smoke form, trailed alongside me.
Like two streaks of light, we moved through the forest. I didn’t know how big the forbidden island was; the endless green canopy stretched on indefinitely.
Swoosh!
After a few miles along a straight path, I finally saw a building structure.
[Ding! Forbidden Wizard and Magic Lords are detected inside the building.]
I heard the system’s voice in my mind. I stopped in my tracks. The zero puppet did the same. I had been excited to see the building, but I had forgotten about the threats inside.
Why did I feel like this hidden organization called the Covenant had more Magic Lords and Forbidden Wizards among them? I wouldn’t be surprised if they had more Elder-level powerhouses.
Next, my gaze fell on the red smoke beside me. I stored the red smoke inside the system space.
I shifted my attention toward the buildings ahead.
My gaze hardened. I resumed flying, but I lowered my speed. The overgrown bushes and tall grass provided cover. If that cover disappeared, I would be easily exposed.
As time passed, I moved forward. The overgrown grass began to thin out. Suddenly, I saw a figure rush out of the building.
Swoosh!
I retreated into the mansion and rushed to the control room. In a flash, I arrived inside the room and stood before the mirror.
I hadn’t expected someone to appear. I saw an empty spot, and then a person cloaked in a black hoodie arrived at that very place.
He began looking around, but he saw nothing. Seeing that, my eyes glinted.
"He seems to have discovered me," I muttered.
Outside
The wizard dressed in the black hoodie was none other than a Forbidden Wizard.
He was stationed at the seashore post, carrying out his daily duties. Then, he spotted someone approaching the post. He knew it was no illusion; it was real.
The person had been standing right here just a couple of seconds ago. He had seen him with his own eyes. He wasn’t hallucinating.
"Space Magic," he muttered.
He hadn’t even sensed the intruder’s approach. If not for his sharp eyesight, he would have missed him entirely.
The wizard was cold and calculating; only after passing multiple evaluations had he been stationed at this post.
"Could it be an Elder-level wizard?" the wizard uttered.
His expression changed drastically. He exuded a cold, sinister aura. He didn’t want to leave before confirming the situation once more.
Who knew? There were many bizarre phenomena on this island that had been left untouched by the organization.
His vision could simply have been influenced by that. He lingered for a couple of minutes, then decided to leave.
Swoosh!
Right then, I appeared outside, grabbed him, and pulled him into the system space.
Thud!
Inside the system space, the zero puppet was already waiting.
"Gravity Field of Time Delay."
I cast the spell with an eightfold power stack. The black-hooded wizard was caught completely off guard.
He saw the blue grid space for the first time. Before he could make sense of the area, an unknown black domain enveloped his body.
The boundary of the black domain expanded outward, forming a dome above him.
Boom!
Inside the black domain, the black-hooded wizard endured terrifying gravitational pressure crushing his body. The force multiplied eightfold before bearing down on him.
However, he was a Forbidden Wizard. He immediately recognized that the rule power contained in the attack was merely at the Supreme Wizard level.
If the rule power had been at the Forbidden Wizard level, it would have triggered far greater alarms in his mind.
Boom!
The pressure affecting him wasn’t enough to crush his body. As seconds passed, the intensity of the gravity increased. The Forbidden Wizard felt uncomfortable, but it wasn’t life-threatening.
The next second, the black-hooded wizard extended his right hand. A black dot formed at the tip of his index finger.
[Ding! The Forbidden Wizard is using Forbidden-level Poison Wind Rule Power.]
[Ding! The host is advised to stay away.]
I heard the system’s voice in my mind. The next second, my gaze fell on his hand. This was the first time I had fought a Forbidden Wizard at close quarters.
Looking at the black dot on his index finger, every sense in my body screamed at me. Fear rose in my heart.
If anyone else saw me, they would think I had a death wish. No Supreme Wizard in their right mind would go up against a Forbidden Wizard. Yet here I was, doing just that.
Watching him prepare to unleash forbidden-level rule power, I could already imagine the sheer destructive force behind it.
"System, can you withstand the attack?" I asked internally.
[Ding! The system can contain the power without issue. However, the host is advised to leave the system space.]
Upon hearing the system’s warning, I appeared beside the zero puppet and brought it back into the Gregor Mansion.
Boom!
At that exact moment, the black-hooded wizard unleashed the black dot. By then, the spell suppressing him had already shattered.
Boom!
In a flash, the black dot collided with the fading black domain.
An explosion erupted, but the black dot met no true resistance as it shot forward in a straight line. The initial blast was simply caused by the remnants of the black domain.
Only a fraction of the forbidden-level rule power was consumed in the collision; the rest surged forward within the beam. It traveled in a straight line with no sign of dissipating.
The black-hooded wizard stood dumbfounded. He had expected the attack to hit a target.
