The protagonist uses the Zero Puppet to gather information before leaving the city via airship. The Black Tower's Supreme Wizards learn of his escape but are too late to intercept him. Upon reaching the border, the protagonist departs the airship and begins a new journey with his companions in a raven aircraft.

Outside Territory

The Raven Aircraft was flying across the blue skies. So far, there were no obstacles along the way. The sky was empty, without any traffic.

Otto and Patrick were paying attention to their surroundings. They, too, knew that they were in mission mode.

Otto was using his magic power. He did not hear any sounds from the surroundings. Patrick was also doing his part to observe their surroundings.

They knew that they had the presence of the Magic Lords in the cabin, but they had to do their part and be useful to their Master.

Hank was viewing the passing scenery. Nobody knew what was on his mind. He was kind of a loner, but he was also thinking of ways to help his Master.

From the briefing, he understood that the mission was important to the Master. He would help like the others.

Old Man Rock had fallen asleep. He was paying attention earlier, but he decided to take a nap.

Lady Caitlin looked at him and shook her head. She knew that a wizard would know if there were any small disturbances.

She was also watching the passing scenery. Her mental power could cover a wider range than the others’. If there were any dangers, she would know.

One hour later,

Lady Caitlin opened her eyes. She caught something with her senses and spread her mental power right away.

Even Old Man Rock woke up, feeling the power.

"What’s wrong?" he asked himself.

He then looked around and saw Lady Caitlin with a serious expression.

Seeing that, his expression shifted, and he used his mental power to observe the surroundings.

The two of them then saw a large-sized airship coming in their direction. There were wizards on the deck, enjoying the view.

From the direction of the airship, they could tell that it was going towards the Magic City border.

"Take a detour. There is a big ship blocking the path," Caitlin said in a low tone, but it reached the ears of Otto and Patrick.

Their expressions changed drastically. They immediately turned off the stealth mode and started driving it manually.

Swoosh!

They took a detour. With the guidance of Magic Lord Caitlin, they avoided the radar of the large airship.

When such a large travel ship was moving in the air, it was normal for it to have a guardian on the ship.

For a big-sized airship going towards Magic City, they wouldn’t be surprised if the airship had a Magic Lord or a Forbidden Wizard as a guardian. It was better not to have any confrontation.

Since it was a mission, Lady Caitlin thought it was best for others not to know about their whereabouts.

After avoiding the big airship, the Raven Aircraft rejoined its path and moved across the sky.

...

Inside the mansion, I brought the Zero Puppet out to help me.

I took the device and began to check the files. There were tons of reports. I didn’t read the files on the device; instead, I gave it to the Zero Puppet.

At that moment, the Zero Puppet was not in its red smoke form. It had reverted to its original form. It took the device and began to read the files one by one.

The reports were about the information collected by the Silver Tower on the Black Mists Forbidden Land.

The Zero Puppet took 10 minutes to digest the information.

It removed the repeated information, took the useful data from the database, and compiled it into a brief summary.

"Master, the Black Mists Forbidden Land is located on an island close to the Wave Country. It’s the sea nation closest to us in distance."

"If we travel in the direction given on the map, we will reach the Wave Country within a week," the Zero Puppet said.

Hearing that, I understood that our next destination was the Wave Country. Fortunately, the route was mentioned in the files.

I didn’t have to figure out the route myself. It saved a lot of time. Then my attention shifted to the Forbidden Land.

"What’s with the Forbidden Land?" I asked.

"The Black Mists Forbidden Land used to be an academy branch of an ancient wizard organization in ancient times."

"Wizard students from the surrounding regions went to that branch to study. Rumor was that it was also a place to conduct spell experiments."

"Later, during some banned spell research, an accident happened. It destroyed the whole academy branch along with the wizards living there."

"The aftermath shook the nearby countries. The place became a forbidden zone mixed with corrupted mana at that time."

"Because the branch was located on an island, the nearby countries weren’t affected much. Later, people who visited there never returned alive."

"The Supreme Wizards who went to investigate the place were poisoned or affected by a strange disease."

"There were even reports of Magic Lords and Forbidden Wizards being affected after visiting the place. Most of them were from seafaring nations located on the borders."

"Later, the place was marked as a Forbidden Land by them. The name was even included in our database. It’s one of the forbidden lands located outside the Mage Union Territory."

"Changes have taken place in recent years. Sea travelers reported seeing people going to the forbidden island, but there was no word from them," the Zero Puppet said, finishing its explanation.

I listened to everything and asked whether any information had been missed.

The Zero Puppet denied it. I trusted the Zero Puppet, so I asked it to go back to the control room and monitor the outside situation through the mirror.

When the Zero Puppet was gone, I stood up from my seat. The information was more thorough than I thought, and a clear map was provided as well.

Fortunately, I wouldn’t have any difficulty going to the place. But my mind was on those visitors. Those visitors might not be innocent travelers, but could be from the Covenant.

Since Forbidden Wizard Erwin went missing there, I could tell that enemy Forbidden Wizards were in that place as well. It was going to be hard to confront the Forbidden Wizards.

But I had to use everything in my power to rescue Forbidden Wizard Erwin. Next, I shifted my attention to the rewards. It was time to check them.

I put away the device inside the storage bracelet and appeared inside the system space.
