Evil Ruin

I found the entrance and saw many wizards entering the ruins. There was no sign of the Magic Lords and Forbidden Wizards.

I confirmed using the system. The next second, I rushed towards the spot. Along with the others, I entered the ruins. Everyone was busy.

But none of them had time to pay attention. They only saw a flash go inside the evil ruin.

Inside the ruin, it was pitch black. Fortunately, my eyesight was better than others’. Wizards can see during the night time.

But I can see even further. The terrain here is dangerous. Broken, ruined buildings are everywhere.

The land was covered in several unknown plants. What is more? I sensed more than one mana type here.

For example, the dark mana, poison mana, corrosion mana, and several other evil manas. I stood in mid-air and continued to observe the surroundings.

[Ding! If the host stays here longer, your mana core will be corrupted.]

I heard the system voice in my mind. Hearing that, my heart skipped a beat. I almost forgot about the problem.

I picked a direction and started moving in that direction. I hoped to come across some relic or magic artifact.

I heard the system voice in my mind. My eyes gleamed with a twinkle. I didn’t expect to encounter this dangerous thing so soon.

In this dark place, I immediately saw many red eyes. These red eyes belonged to the corpse puppets.

They emerged from the evil ground. In the blink of an eye, hundreds of them appeared before me. I used the system to probe their strength.

They were all between level-7 to level-9. But I thought there would be other corpse puppets in the place as well.

The corpse puppets got closer to me. The corpse puppets were all gigantic in size. Their bodies were shrouded in evil mana.

The white bone skeletons were clearly visible. After observing them, I cast an instant magic spell.

"Gravity Surge"

A powerful gravitational spike appeared around me. The corpse puppets within the range were all affected by the sudden pressure.

The puppets’ bodies were crushed under the pressure. One by one, the corpse puppets fell down to the ground.

The shock force spread across the area. The power coming from the crushing of the puppets was huge.

Seeing that hundreds of puppets were crushed instantly, I revealed a smile on my face. This ruin would be a good place to test my magic spell attacks.

I didn’t leave the place immediately. I waited for the aftermath to settle down. Once the dust had settled, I moved forward.

It didn’t take long for me to come across a small building. I saw statue-like corpse puppets outside the building.

A quick gleam appeared in my eyes.

"Don’t tell me they are safeguarding the building," I thought.

When I got closer to the door, the formation was triggered. The two corpse puppets’ red eyes glowed.

The system reminded me that they were Magic Lord Level Puppets.

In a flash, I got closer to the puppets.

"Gravity Blast"

I cast the magic spell again. A wisp of magic was released from my hand. In a flash, the magic power struck the puppet.

Boom!

The Magic Lord corpse puppet was sent flying before crashing into the ground. Similarly, I struck the second puppet with a similar spell.

Fortunately, the puppets’ movements were rigid. They could only do close combat. After collecting my thoughts, I stepped inside the building.

I didn’t do anything rash. I used the system to find any traps. The system results came out as negative.

I sighed in relief. Then, my gaze quickly scanned the room. I found wooden shelves and a desk. I immediately went to the desk.

I opened the drawer. I saw books and notes inside. I hastily touched them. They turned to ashes the next second.

Seeing that, my eyes flashed with understanding. I was too hasty. If this goes on, I won’t find anything.

Then I turned towards the wooden shelves. I saw various books and notes inside. A surprise appeared in my eyes.

It could be the room of someone. Then I thought of the Zero Puppet.

I went inside the Gregor Mansion and brought the Zero Puppet outside. I placed super-grade mana stones and activated them.

"Master," the Zero Puppet said.

"Good, we are inside an ancient ruin. I found books inside the shelves. But they would turn to dust upon contact," I said to the puppet.

"I want you to copy the contents," I added.

"Yes, master." After saying that, the Zero Puppet turned towards the shelves.

Then I saw the deep blue sockets of the Zero Puppet glow. After merging with the Artifact, the power of the Zero Puppet increased.

At the same time, the Zero Puppet scanned the information on all the books. A new database was created. The information began to expand in the database.

Seeing that the puppet can read and record the contents, I was satisfied.

"Master, I have found useful information," the Zero Puppet replied.

"What is it?" I asked.

"There is an evil living core artifact in the ruin which can enhance my strength," the puppet replied.

Hearing that, I was shocked. Since it’s an evil ruin used by an ancient wizard force, it’s normal for evil magic artifacts to be here.

Since there is information about the evil living core artifact, I should use this opportunity to help the Zero Puppet. It’s very rare to come across an opportunity to increase the strength of the puppet.

If its strength was improved, then it would be helpful to me as well. I made the decision to look for the place right away.
