Gravity Mage with Level-Up System Chapter 1918: Coming to the rescue
Previously on Gravity Mage with Level-Up System...
The aircraft covered more miles, its journey continuing for hours beyond the reach of the border city.
Time flew by,
And as night descended, I guided the aircraft to land on the desolate terrain. After storing the aircraft, I reappeared within the opulent Gregor Mansion.
Proceeding to the main hall, I examined my status panel. My health remained stable; I decided it would be best to reserve the solar berry fruit for emergencies.
It could prove invaluable in precarious situations. Following this, I retired to my chambers for the night.
The following morning,
My journey recommenced. The aircraft was pushed to its maximum speed, and compared to the previous day, the voyage proceeded much more smoothly.
Days waned,
Bringing me closer to the continent's edge. The next significant hurdle would be navigating the perilous seas to reach the far shore.
Since departing the border city, I hadn't encountered any other settlements. However, my map indicated the presence of a seafaring nation.
That nation's cities boasted ports, so I stored the aircraft and continued my travel using my flight ability. The land here was barren,
Devoid of dense vegetation. Not a single monster had appeared; the region had been remarkably peaceful so far.
Upon reaching the end of this barren expanse, the next civilization awaited.
Boom!
Suddenly, a thunderous sound echoed. My eyes instantly sharpened. I donned my white mask.
Then, I instructed the system to cloak my presence, concealing me from any prying eyes.
Having done so, I cautiously approached the source of the commotion. Upon arrival, I witnessed a fierce battle between two distinct groups.
One side was defended by a middle-aged couple, accompanied by several individuals who appeared to be their guards. They were clad in splendid blue and silver wizard robes.
The middle-aged couple bore visible bruises and injuries.
Facing them was an old man, garbed in simple black cloth, with similarly clad individuals positioned behind him.
The sight of the old man caused me to halt my advance. My system provided information: the middle-aged couple were Magic Lords, and the old man was also a Magic Lord.
I raised my eyebrows, assessing the situation. The ensuing battle was one I could potentially influence.
"Who goes there?" The old man's voice sliced through the air, having detected my proximity.
Hearing him, I knew revelation was inevitable. Lingering was pointless, so I moved into the open. In the next instant, all eyes fixed upon me.
"Greetings, I am merely a traveler, en route to the seafaring nation," I announced, my voice steady.
My declaration was delivered with unwavering confidence.
The middle-aged couple and the opposing old man exchanged startled glances.
"Sir, we hail from the Blue Pearl Nation. The individual before you belongs to a nefarious killer organization. We implore you to assist us in defeating him," the middle-aged man pleaded.
"Mister, should you aid us, a generous reward will be yours," the woman added.
I blinked, a realization dawning. It wasn't surprising they wore blue; it likely connected to the sea.
My gaze then shifted to the old man in black, whose eyes now held a wary intensity. None of them could ascertain my true strength.
"Can you perhaps depart?" I inquired, directing my question to him.
The old man and his cohorts seemed taken aback by my question. A flicker of anger then surfaced in their eyes.
"We know not your identity."
"It would be wise for you to leave. You stand alone, and you cannot possibly contend with all of us," the old man retorted coldly.
He harbored suspicions that this masked individual might be a Forbidden Wizard, a being who could dispatch them instantly if provoked.
Meanwhile, the middle-aged couple watched with apprehension, uncertain if the masked stranger could truly rescue them from their dire circumstances.
They had merely gambled on the chance that he might intervene, hoping for salvation from their present predicament.
A subtle chill entered my eyes. It had been some time since I'd engaged in combat with wizards, yet these individuals were necessary for my sea crossing.
Swoosh!
In a blur, I vanished from my position, reappearing instantly before the old man.
"Gravity Push!"
Raising my hand, I aimed my index finger directly at the old man's chest. Without hesitation, I unleashed the seventh stage of my magic spell.
A wisp of ethereal gray magic emanated from my fingertip, transforming into a piercing beam that shot towards the elder.
Boom!
The spell struck with instantaneous force. The old man, who had been smirking moments before, found his expression wiped clean.
Boom!
The beam impacted his chest, and in that instant, an overwhelming, crushing pressure surged through his body. Every bone within him fractured.
His form was violently propelled backward, crashing into the ground with a devastating impact that carved a deep crater.
The shockwave radiated outwards. While the spell was precisely targeted, the old man bore the full brunt of its devastating power; the others remained relatively unharmed.
However, they stood frozen, their faces contorted in sheer terror. They had never anticipated that the masked figure could so decisively defeat their elder, a Magic Lord whose strength was not easily overcome.
"What are you all staring at?"
"Take him away," I commanded, my voice cutting through the stunned silence.
Upon hearing that, the others hastened to flee the scene.
Afterward, my attention turned to the middle-aged couple. Apprehension clouded their faces, as they remained ignorant of the nature of the magic I had just employed.
The couple soon regained their composure and offered me their greetings.
"My Lord, thank you for your assistance," the middle-aged man expressed.
"It is nothing. However, I find myself in need of your help as well," I replied.
"My Lord, you need only ask, and we shall do our utmost," the man responded readily.
"You mentioned your origin is from the Blue Pearl Nation," I stated, confirming my understanding.
The couple exchanged glances before nodding in unison.
Observing their affirmation, a sigh of relief escaped me.
"I seek a method to traverse the vast oceans and reach the distant lands on the other side. Do you happen to know of any such means?" I inquired without preamble.
