Goldkeep City
The following day arrived,
After completing my preparations, I stepped outside. My intention was to depart by evening, but first, I needed to acquire some essential supplies.
I had already encountered extraordinary locations. What if unforeseen dangers arise? I require something to alter the circumstances.
Therefore, I resolved to inspect the magical goods available at this city's premier magic emporium. I hailed a passing sky-car and requested to be taken to the city's most renowned magic shop.
A few moments later, the airborne vehicle lifted off. Having explored the city's famous landmarks yesterday, I was familiar with the names of its significant establishments.
Twenty minutes elapsed, and the flying vehicle touched down before the 'Samson Magic Store'—such was its name. The establishment occupied a colossal ten-story structure, a testament to its fame.
Upon disembarking, I settled the fare with the driver. He expressed his gratitude and assured me that anything I sought could be found within.
His pronouncement ignited my curiosity. I wasn't concealing my identity with a mask today; since my departure from the city was imminent, I didn't anticipate any complications.
I entered the store and was promptly attended to by a staff member, a woman of middle age.
Noticing her engagement, the other employees retreated, their eagerness to solicit customers evident.
I requested a tour of the premises. The middle-aged attendant, with a welcoming smile, commenced the guided exploration. The store spanned ten impressive floors.
My plan was to proceed methodically, utilizing the system's probe function to identify valuable items.
Time ticked by,
The middle-aged woman enthusiastically presented various wares. She herself was a Wizard of the ninth level, yet she sensed a considerably greater power emanating from her customer. A chilling premonition gripped her; she surmised that this patron must be a Supreme Wizard or perhaps even higher. Her heart swelled with joy at the prospect of such a significant sale.
The potential for a substantial commission filled her with delight.
Meanwhile, my attention was drawn to the glass display cases. Within them rested an assortment of magical objects: ancient artifacts, enchanted tools, arcane tomes, and various other components.
One could procure virtually anything here, from rare herbal elixirs to materials essential for crafting magical constructs.
As I perused the displayed items, I activated the system's probe function, searching for anything of potential use.
[Ding! Material for enhancing a sentient magical artifact has been detected.]
Shortly thereafter, the system's voice resonated in my mind. My heart quickened with anticipation. I had a conviction that the system would uncover something remarkable.
Nevertheless, I maintained a composed demeanor and followed the system's guidance to its source. Within one of the glass cabinets lay a piece of ancient ore.
I was taken aback. Why would this ore be classified as an antique? I then proceeded towards the wooden counter.
Behind the counter was the display shelf in question. The middle-aged attendant appeared surprised. Her gaze then fell upon the antique ore, and a flicker of understanding crossed her features.
She explained, "We unearthed this rare ore within ancient ruins. Its specific application remains unknown, hence its current classification as a decorative antique."
Upon hearing this, I refrained from inquiring directly about the ore.
Instead, I posed a question: "Are there any other antique ores in your collection?"
The middle-aged woman looked surprised, then nodded, responding, "Indeed, we possess several such specimens."
"I am interested in acquiring a few of them," I declared my intention.
"Esteemed patron, we guarantee the most favorable pricing. Rest assured, the transaction will be equitable," the attendant assured me.
I acknowledged her statement with a nod. She then guided me through the various levels of the store. Not all the antique ores were located on the ground floor; consequently, we ascended to other levels in search of these aged items.
It wasn't long before I located the antique ores. Silently, I employed the system's probe function. However, none of the other antique ores held any special value.
Despite this, I feigned a semblance of interest. The middle-aged attendant took note of the items I indicated.
"I wish to purchase these four antique ores, along with the one situated on the first floor," I stated.
The middle-aged woman smiled and proposed, "Allow me to escort you to a private chamber where you may repose. I shall arrange for the items to be brought to you."
"Our manager will oversee the final price negotiation," she added.
I readily consented.
A few minutes passed,
The middle-aged attendant led me to the designated guest room and I took a seat. My excitement was palpable, yet I consciously maintained a calm composure.
I was determined that neither the manager nor any other staff member would detect my elevated heart rate. I then began organizing my low-grade mana stones.
I possessed both mid-grade and super-grade mana stones. However, I couldn't even contemplate using the super-grade stones, let alone the mid-grade ones. Retrieval of higher-grade stones was simply not feasible at this moment.
My immediate course of action would involve utilizing the low-grade mana stones.
Several minutes later,
The middle-aged woman entered the room, accompanied by the five antique ores. Her smile was bright, clearly anticipating a significant commission.
An elderly gentleman, appearing to be in his sixties, entered the room. He was attired in the official uniform of the magic store. The old man's gaze settled upon the young man.
He perceived the young man's underlying power and was stunned to discover he possessed the strength of a Supreme Wizard. The elder was taken aback.
Witnessing such potent cultivation in such a young individual was exceptionally rare. He was now unequivocally convinced that his esteemed customer had arrived with the express intention of making substantial purchases.
"Kindly place the materials upon the table," he instructed. Upon hearing this, the middle-aged woman acknowledged his words with a nod and proceeded to set the five antique ores onto the table. The old man possessed knowledge regarding these antique ores. He discerned no extraordinary qualities within them, apart from their age as relics. Retrieving his device, he proceeded to ascertain their value by consulting the database. Evidently, his intention was to offer them at an inflated price, initiating the bargaining process that would inevitably follow. Following his calculations, he declared, "These five artifacts collectively are valued at approximately 5,000 low-grade mana stones." Upon hearing this valuation, a smile graced my lips, and I opted not to hasten the transaction. Being the proprietor of an appraisal shop myself, I was well-versed in such dealings. "Let us settle on 3,000," I countered. The old man was taken aback. He had not anticipated the young man's immediate negotiation, given that the precise price was already listed within the database.
