Gravity Mage with Level-Up System Chapter 1888: Verdant Capital

Capital City
Within a few moments,
the dark airship finally arrived at the Capital City. From the rear compartment, I observed the external panorama through the window.
In the distance lay the magnificent capital city. Structures of varying dimensions and configurations dotted the landscape, with colossal edifices reaching skyward.
However, my attention was captivated by an immense palace suspended in mid-air, seemingly the city's focal point.
Smaller floating structures surrounded this grand palace, a spectacle entirely novel to me.
Such advanced infrastructure was a rarity, even in the magic city. Perhaps, to maintain a balance of power, such concepts were not implemented there.
But here, a solitary palace dominated the skyline, giving me the impression of its profound significance. As the airship approached the formidable city walls,
my gaze shifted to the seemingly endless streets below. Small and medium-sized establishments lined both sides of the thoroughfares.
I surmised it to be a bustling market street, teeming with a dense populace clad in traditional attire.
Moreover, I sensed a potent concentration of mana in the atmosphere, reminiscent of the Granite Crest Mountain Range.
The airship sailed over the imposing city wall, and my eyes scanned the elegant architecture. Some buildings gleamed with marble white, whilst others were fashioned from brick.
As we drew nearer to the landing platform, numerous aerial vehicles became visible in this less densely populated sector.
Before long, the airship reached its destination: another expansive area within the primary city expanse, complete with an aerial traffic route on the right.
Adjacent to this landing zone lay a tranquil residential district. The black airship executed a few circles before descending gracefully into its designated parking bay.
Once the vessel came to a complete stop, the five magic lords turned their attention towards the final compartment, anticipating the masked man's emergence.
Nevertheless, after several minutes, he did not appear. Noticing this, the scar-faced man exchanged a knowing glance with his companions.
Consequently, the quintet disembarked from the airship, leaving only the pilot and the crew behind.
Creak!
I emerged from the compartment a short while later, my gaze meeting that of the staff. They acknowledged me with a nod.
Approaching a female staff member, I inquired about reputable hotels in the vicinity. She responded with a welcoming smile, initiating a series of recommendations.
After gathering the necessary information, I exited the airship. The moment my feet touched the ground,
I activated the system to scan my surroundings.
[Ding! Magic Lords detected.]
[Ding! The host is under surveillance.]
The system's pronouncements resonated in my mind. A shiver ran down my spine; I had anticipated this. These individuals clearly harbored doubts about my assertions.
Maintaining a neutral expression, I gathered my thoughts and proceeded towards the exit.
Meanwhile, the five magic lords convened in the administration room, observing the masked man's departure. Their objective was to shadow him without revealing their intentions.
Witnessing the masked man leaving the premises,
the scar-faced mage declared, "I shall trail him from a distance."
"You are not required to accompany me." With that addition, he departed the room.
His statement was met with silence from the others. The brown-haired middle-aged man and the slender wizard exchanged glances.
In truth, they harbored a desire to follow as well. However, recognizing the potential to alert the masked man, they remained reticent.
A subtle undercurrent of suspicion flowed amongst them. The lean-physique wizard, in particular, harbored doubts that the scar-faced wizard might seek to claim any potential rewards solely for himself.
Regrettably,
the remaining four resolved to await further developments. They opted to stay put, anticipating news from the scar-faced wizard.
Elsewhere, the scar-faced wizard reached the street, which was currently serene and uncrowded. A sparse number of pedestrians ambled along, with occasional flying vehicles gliding overhead.
The scar-faced wizard observed his quarry proceeding ahead. A sense of relief washed over him; he had been concerned about the target evading him.
This lack of suspicion indicated that the target remained unaware of their pursuit. He maintained a cautious distance, mindful that getting too close could provoke alarm or lead to escape.
Concurrently, I was making my way towards the hotel recommended by the female staff, adopting a leisurely pace.
As I strolled, I absorbed the scenery of this unfamiliar locale. Modern conveyances navigated the aerial pathways.
Pedestrians, resplendent in their native attire, passed by, and I took note of the intricate patterns adorning their garments.
[Ding! The host is being trailed by a Magic Lord.]
The system's alert sounded in my mind, arriving unexpectedly. My heart quickened; I had been anticipating their move.
Yet, I had not foreseen a lone individual undertaking the pursuit. Regardless, my immediate priority was to reach the hotel. I persisted on my path.
Presently, the hotel materialized into view at the street's terminus. It was a prominent, multi-story edifice constructed of marble.
Upon observing it, I scrutinized the building before focusing on the name displayed atop it.
[Redwood Hotel]
"An apt name," I remarked aloud.
My attention then turned, and I proceeded towards the hotel's entrance. Pushing the door open, I stepped inside.
Arriving at the reception, I found both male and female staff members attending to their duties behind the counter. Approaching them, I began to inquire about available rooms.
Following our discussion, I discovered that the majority of the rooms had already been reserved. This was a consequence of the impending tournament.
Visitors from surrounding nations had already arrived.
At present, rooms were only available on the 50th floor, which also happened to be the highest level of the hotel.
I settled the payment for the room, amounting to 10,000 mid-grade mana stones, at a rate of 1,000 mid-grade mana stones per day. My booking was for a duration of ten days.
Having received the keys, I made my way towards the elevator.
Outside,
The wizard bearing a scar arrived at the location. His reaction to the hotel was one of non-surprise, as he knew this was a place one would come for the tournament.
He could take some rest here before proceeding to meet some acquaintances. As his eyes scanned the hotel's name, a flicker crossed his gaze.
The entities backing this hotel establishment were significant figures in their own right.
