Vincent checked on his injured team members Hank, Patrick, and Otto, confirming their recovery under Ethan's healing. He commanded the Zero Puppet to spy on Magic Lord Clint and discovered the white magic mask was an unknown-grade outer space artifact undetectable by even Elders. Nosy wizards from associations and families intruded into the damaged shop, only to be forced to kneel by Vincent's gravitational coercion before being angrily expelled.

The Hotel

Magic Lord Clint stayed in his hotel room, with the other two Supreme Wizards in their respective ones. All they needed to do was offer support from the sidelines.

At that moment, Clint was updating his faction allies back at the Green Elemental Tower.

A puff of dark red smoke sneaked into the hotel room unnoticed. Even as a Magic Lord, Clint failed to detect the sneaky entry since he was occupied with a phone conversation.

"Ha... Ha... Ha..."

"The staff members are growling at my feet. You should have seen their faces," Clint laughed as he spoke.

Every word of the talk reached the dark red smoke, yet it was set to capture only vital information, ignoring the casual banter.

"If that b@stard comes back and sees his shop, he’ll be pissed off. I’m sure he will come looking for me," Clint continued on the phone.

"If he dares to attack me, then he is asking for trouble. I’m the guest here right now. His name would be ruined."

"Even his own faction won’t be able to avoid the damage to their reputation," he went on, completely oblivious to the dark red smoke lurking in the room.

Meanwhile

The report of the appraisal shop incident spread rapidly across the city like wildfire. That shop had turned into the hottest spot in town.

It gained even more notoriety thanks to its new owner, a wizard surrounded by controversy. Numerous magic towers and wizard families despised him.

Lately, stories emerged of impolite customers causing scenes there. The big powers realized these disturbances were staged on purpose.

These troublemakers mostly appeared to be outsiders, traveling from beyond the city limits to stir up chaos.

With word now out about an assault within the appraisal shop, shockwaves rippled through the entire city. Yet, the complete story remained hidden.

Major factions dispatched investigators, only for Wizard Vincent to thrash them and send them running.

No one knew the attacker's identity for sure, but one fact stood clear: Wizard Vincent's power surpassed your typical Supreme Wizard.

Some witnesses had spotted Magic Lord Clint unleashing his coercion to harm people, though fear kept their mouths shut for good reason.

The buzz quickly reached nearby cities. Soon, the key satellite cities caught wind of it too.

Anything involving Magic Towers drew massive attention from all. News tied to the Silver Tower pulled in even bigger crowds.

Once details hit about the assault on Wizard Vincent Carey's shop by some mystery assailant, it shot straight to the top trends.

Magic City learned of it in no time. That's where the primary wizard families held sway.

Reactions varied wildly upon hearing it. Had the shop been in Magic City, nobody would risk such a bold move.

Magic City stood as the heart of the land—the most secure haven around.

...

The Book Store

Old Man Martin stayed plugged into every whisper and rumor swirling through the city.

When he heard Vincent Carey had shown up and snapped up an appraisal shop in Crystal City, surprise hit him hard, sparking a urge to visit.

Time held him back though. The appraisal trade fascinated him; he itched to check out how it ran firsthand.

He always knew "Kid Vincent" was no average joe. The boy devoured books too, leading Martin to expect a bookstore venture just like his own.

But this appraisal shop move blindsided everyone. As those thoughts crossed his mind, his eyes landed on the screen broadcasting the latest news.

The coverage detailed the brutal attack inside Wizard Vincent’s appraisal shop. Old Man Martin froze in shock.

He rose from his chair and approached the screen closely. The female anchor delivered the story with heightened drama.

She recounted the sequence of events vividly. Aerial footage of the appraisal shop filled the broadcast.

Lacking entry to the Crystal Community, they captured images from high above.

Something felt off to Old Man Martin right away. Only the Magic Towers possessed the guts for such a stunt, he figured.

"Which Magic Tower would it be?"

"Or could it be the Wizard Families?" the old man pondered.

He pegged the Magic Towers as the prime suspects.

"Green Elemental Tower," the old man uttered coldly. It took him mere moments to pinpoint them.

He pulled out his device next and rang up a handful of contacts. Their networks ran deep and wide.

These influential allies needed no spies; one call delivered all the dirt.

That's how Old Man Martin pieced together the truth. Now he knew the Green Elemental Tower had dispatched a Magic Lord plus two Supreme Wizards to harass Vincent Carey.

"The current episode was likely caused by him," Old Man Martin muttered to himself.

He broke down the scenario swiftly. Vincent lacked backup from the Silver Tower. Erwin and Charlotte might step in eventually, but not for petty squabbles.

Here was the Green Elemental Tower resorting to dirty tricks.

"I think I need to go there," Martin decided inwardly.

He glanced around, noting a sparse few customers still browsing. He'd wait till they cleared out.

One hour later,

The bookstore emptied of all patrons. Old Man Martin moved fast, shutting down for the day and activating the shop's magic barriers for protection.

"Why don’t I put magic restrictions on the kid’s shop?" Martin mused.

His eyes sparkled with excitement. He saw it as a huge boon for Vincent Carey. After settling things, he headed straight for Crystal City.

Meanwhile

Other supporters of Vincent Carey reeled from the shocking report too. Take Melissa, the private collector and friend of Manager Lara—she was floored by it as well.
