Gravity Mage with Level-Up System Chapter 1842: Jamie Crest

The Crest family,
The dark red smoke avoided entering through the family gate. Rather, it collected details from the guards stationed there.
'I heard the family uncovered an underground chamber. News of it hasn't spread publicly yet,' one dark-suited man remarked.
'Yeah, it might date back to the forbidden era,' another dark-suited wizard replied.
All of them felt intense curiosity toward the recently found secret underground chamber.
Regrettably, they lacked entry to such details. They merely picked up fragments of info from fellow guards.
Swoosh!
All of a sudden, the main gate swung open. An elderly man emerged, trailed by his followers. He served as the Head of the Crest Family, Jamie Crest.
A Magic Lord himself, he led the Crest family, which outpowered most wizard clans tied to the Flame Elemental Tower.
Jamie wore a grim expression. He headed toward the vehicle waiting outside. His plan was to investigate the concealed underground chamber.
The attendants behind him consisted of elders. They climbed into separate cars sequentially. Soon enough, the dark red smoke materialized.
It darted swiftly beneath each car in turn, amassing intelligence. Neither the Magic Lords nor the Supreme Wizards detected the dark red smoke's existence.
The zero puppet recorded this observation. This capability would enable it to assist Master Vincent with additional missions.
…
Sun Crest Hotel
Time flew by.
Inside the room, I stood by the window, gazing at the nighttime scenery. I cracked the window open a bit, letting a chilly breeze caress my face.
I savored that sensation. My eyes then moved to the illuminated structures. Though the city seemed peaceful, turbulent undercurrents churned beneath.
I preferred not to let my whereabouts slip, particularly now that the Sun Crest family had located the hidden underground chamber. Staying longer might lead to unforeseen dangers.
A dark red smoke materialized in front of me. It slipped into the room via the window opening. Surprise flickered in my eyes; I hadn't anticipated the zero puppet's such prompt arrival.
The dark red smoke condensed, unveiling the zero puppet moments later.
'Master, the task is complete,' the zero puppet reported.
That news sparked my interest and thrill. 'Start from the beginning,' I said, settling into a chair.
The zero puppet proceeded to narrate the gathered intel from the outset. Initially, my face stayed composed. Yet upon hearing of Jamie Crest, a spark lit up in my eyes.
A Magic Lord like him failed to perceive the dark red smoke. This proved to be fantastic intelligence. If accurate, the dark red puppet could excel in reconnaissance duties.
Otto suited the appraisal shop perfectly as a Supreme wizard. The zero puppet now matched that rank. I could deploy it for outdoor operations without concern.
A few minutes passed.
I'd absorbed all the details. I returned the zero puppet to Gregor Mansion, then stepped outside.
I swiftly gathered my belongings and vacated the room. I figured the underground chamber's discovery would leak out shortly.
With the Crest Family Head taking action, rival factions would catch wind soon. Unpredictable events might unfold, and I aimed to avoid the turmoil.
At the reception desk, I surrendered the key. I informed the staff of my checkout. The male and female employees showed mild astonishment, then breathed sighs of relief.
They had felt on edge, like treading thin ice. Hosting someone from an enemy Magic tower weighed heavily on them.
Should word reach the Family Head, catastrophe would strike them. They stayed silent until the guest departed; afterward, they planned to alert young master Gary.
Outside,
I negotiated with the car driver, offering mid-grade mana stones for a trip to Crystal City. He eagerly agreed. I boarded and took a seat in the rear.
I instructed the driver to depart. He was a youthful fellow, just a tad older than myself. He started driving without delay.
…
At the same time,
Jamie Crest reached the barren plot. Noting his people securing the perimeter, he nodded approvingly before advancing to the secret underground chamber.
The elders trailed him, their features etched with concern and unease.
Previously, their young master and the Magic Lords had collapsed unconscious. They discovered an entity from the hidden underground room had assaulted them.
Jamie Crest appeared troubled too. He stood before the entryway, facing an ancient iron door.
'We're at the spot. Stay vigilant. Threats could strike anytime,' Jamie warned them.
The elders acknowledged with nods. Instantly, fierce crimson flames enveloped his form. Jamie, resembling a mobile inferno, pressed onward.
Each footfall liquefied the ground below. He contacted the door, which dissolved under his touch.
Witnessing this, the trailing elders advanced confidently. They trusted the Family Head's formidable strength.
He entered the chamber. The intense blaze lit up the interior. Jamie spotted the altar and various relics strewn about.
No ominous dark red smoke lingered within, however. He neared the altar, detecting nothing amiss.
His attention turned to the relics. Several held practical value among them. Still, he overlooked something crucial.
'Ha... Ha... Ha...' Jamie chuckled.
'This underground chamber holds treasures. We can offer valuables to the Flame Elemental Tower,' he declared to the elders.
The elders entered and examined the relics too. Certain ones posed hazards.
They remained clueless about which caused young master Gary’s and the others’ plight.
Discussion could wait. First, they had to secure the relics for transport back home.
Family Head Jamie tallied the items meticulously; he wouldn't tolerate deceit, even from family elders.
The elders understood. They shunned thoughts of the prohibited artifacts. Wizard families possessing such taboo treasures wielded great power.
These served as mainstays of the Flame Elemental Tower. Acquiring them would bolster the family's might even more.
