Godly Empress Doctor Chapter 4253: The Finale (8)

“It is because I have an exceptional pupil,” Mu Jiuzhou remarked with a cold indifference. “That is the reason I have returned to life. My dear brother.”
Emperor Yan recoiled, his footsteps faltering as he stumbled backward.
In the past, he had been no match for Mu Jiuzhou’s prowess. However, he had managed to seize an opportunity while Mu Jiuzhou was vulnerable, using poison to strike him down. That treachery had nearly annihilated Mu Jiuzhou’s Cultivation, allowing Emperor Yan to usurp everything he desired. But now, the nightmare had returned; Mu Jiuzhou was back.
Mu Jiuzhou remained the only individual who could strike true terror into the heart of Emperor Yan.
“Get away from me!”
Ignoring the plea, Mu Jiuzhou continued his steady advance toward him.
“Halt! Stop right there! Saint Elder One! Intercept him!” Emperor Yan roared in a desperate command.
Meanwhile, the Elder One stood frozen, staring at Mu Jiuzhou in utter shock and confusion.
Long ago, the Emperor Emeritus had shown favor to the third prince. Yet, the current emperor had ascended the throne only after sabotaging Mu Jiuzhou and the Emperor Emeritus’s own grandson. This revelation proved that he was never the legitimate successor to the crown.
“Elder One! Why are you standing there?! Do something!” Panicking, Emperor Yan screamed his orders once more.
The elder simply cupped his hands toward Emperor Yan. “This matter must be reported to the Emperor Emeritus before any further action can be taken.”
Years ago, the Emperor Emeritus had entered a period of deep seclusion, distancing himself from the politics of the world. By the time he emerged, only one son remained alive, leaving him with no choice but to pass the throne to the current emperor.
Having made his stance clear, the elder turned and prepared to depart.
Emperor Yan shouted after him, “He was the one who tried to murder my father’s grandson! It wasn’t me!”
Though he had once been a figure of absolute authority and intimidation, the mere presence of Mu Jiuzhou reduced him to a screaming, frantic mess.
“I wished to kill the emperor’s grandson?” Mu Jiuzhou let out a mocking smirk. “If those words were true, he would have drawn his final breath long ago.”
“What are you implying? Is he actually still alive?” Emperor Yan asked, his voice filled with astonishment.
“I am.”
A new figure suddenly materialized before the crowd.
It was Jun Linyuan, the grandson of the late crown prince! He was walking calmly toward them, accompanied by an elderly man.
“Jun Linyuan!”
Ignoring everything else happening around her, Feng Wu dashed toward Jun Linyuan as fast as she could.
Jun Linyuan reached out, gently patting Feng Wu’s head as a soft smile graced his features.
At the sight of him, Feng Wu felt as though she might burst into tears once again.
None of this had been expected.
If her master and her six senior brothers hadn't intervened to assist her, she couldn't imagine what her fate would have been.
“I nearly lost my life…” Feng Wu whispered, tugging at Jun Linyuan’s sleeve in a rare display of vulnerability.
A flicker of tenderness crossed Jun Linyuan’s dark, brooding eyes, which now seemed to glow with an intense passion. “I will protect you for as long as you desire,” he promised. His own ears turned a shade of red as the words left his lips.
“Ahem.” A quiet cough interrupted the moment.
Feng Wu looked up to see a man clad in a vibrant yellow robe. He possessed a sage-like aura that managed to be both regal and refined. However, she could sense a deep-seated frailty within him; he clearly was not in good health.
Confused, Feng Wu glanced at Jun Linyuan for an explanation.
Jun Linyuan leaned in and whispered a few words into her ear.
Feng Wu’s eyes widened in shock.
So, this man was the Emperor Emeritus himself!
Furthermore, he had passed down all of his formidable skills to Jun Linyuan!
If that were the case, Jun Linyuan’s power must have reached incredible heights by now.
“You?” Emperor Yan was stunned into silence the moment he recognized Jun Linyuan’s face.
That face was hauntingly familiar!
Jun Linyuan bore a striking resemblance to someone from the past—the crown prince’s wife! The very woman the current emperor had driven to a humiliating death.
That meant he was indeed...
“I am that grandson.”
With measured steps, Jun Linyuan began to walk slowly toward Emperor Yan.
