Chen Guan gains possession of a unique space ring that combines features of both space connectors and independent spaces. Ming Fei activates the ring, transporting Chen Guan into its interior, which is revealed to be a vast palace filled floor-to-ceiling with books. These books contain incredibly detailed information on various Secret Spirits, cataloged by their power levels and rarity, offering Chen Guan a valuable resource for strategizing future hunts.
For Chen Guan, this library is undeniably a treasure trove, the Secret Spirits detailed within representing a significant fortune. Many of these recorded Secret Spirits are formidable beings, such as the Evil Luo King and the Tearless Asura, complete with information on their native regions.
Regrettably, while the details on the Evil Luo King are quite thorough, the information pertaining to the Tearless Asura is less comprehensive. Its Secret Law is documented, yet only one of its three Hidden Powers is mentioned. Furthermore, the Celestial Destiny Secret Treasure of the Tearless Asura is noted, but its specific effects are not fully elucidated.
Evidently, many aspects of the Tearless Asura remain uncharted, likely awaiting future contributions to its record. "This is sufficient for now," Chen Guan declared, having no immediate intention of confronting the Tearless Asura. Even if he possessed the capability to defeat it, the numerous Secret Spirits guarding the Tearless Asura would pose an insurmountable challenge for him alone.
Consequently, Chen Guan’s current focus is on solitary Secret Gods, many of which are cataloged in this very library. The records encompass not only the Secret Gods from the Ji Family’s Great Cave Heaven but also numerous others from different family Great Cave Heavens.
The Feng Family and King of Du’s Great Cave Heavens are noted as having the fewest recorded Secret Gods. Access to the Feng Family’s Great Cave Heaven is strictly prohibited for outsiders, while the King of Du permits entry only to those who join the Dushan Sect.
It is practically impossible for a Celestial King like Ji Changsheng to become a member of the Dushan Sect.
"Ming Fei, ensure you meticulously record all of this. Otherwise, should you ever need to gather intelligence on adversaries, it might prove too late," Chen Guan instructed Ming Fei, who stood beside him.
Ming Fei rolled her eyes, retorting, "Why shouldn't you be the one to do it?"
"Your innate attribute is wisdom, a rather rare quality. Compiling this information would be a simple task for you. If I were to undertake it, who knows if I could complete it within this lifetime," Chen Guan explained.
Ming Fei found his words agreeable and nodded, conceding, "That does hold some truth. Expecting you to retain so much information would indeed be a considerable burden."
Chen Guan chuckled, "At critical junctures, you are the one I can truly rely on."
"Alright, save your flattery for those young ladies," Ming Fei quipped with a smile. "What's our next move? Shall we investigate the dimension connected by this ring?"
Ming Fei gestured towards a doorway situated behind the palace, adding, "Beyond that door lies the entrance to the dimension linked by this ring."
"May I send my pet through first?" Chen Guan mused aloud.
"In theory, it should be permissible. However, given our ignorance of the nature of the realm beyond the door – whether it be a Divine Land, Blessed Land, Grotto Heaven, or perhaps another Great Cave Heaven – if it is situated too far, the connection with your Secret Spirit could be severed. Should you lose the link, you would be unable to recall it, leaving its survival or demise unknown," Ming Fei considered before replying.
"Let’s give it a shot; perhaps I’ll sense something," Chen Guan summoned a wandering ghost, directing it to open the door and step through. The space outside the portal warped, rendering its contents indiscernible to Chen Guan. Yet, as Ming Fei had predicted, the moment the wandering ghost crossed the threshold, its connection with Chen Guan was immediately severed. Its fate became uncertain – it could have been annihilated, or perhaps the distance was too vast, placing it in an entirely separate Secret Realm.
Chen Guan then dispatched several more pets, including a more sophisticated Yellow Springs Shadow General, with instructions to return within ten minutes. To his dismay, none of the pets reappeared, causing Chen Guan to knit his brows.
Ming Fei chuckled, stating, "Your strategy is flawed because returning from the other side also necessitates the activation of a spatial connection point, a capability your pets do not possess."
"It seems I must investigate myself," Chen Guan concluded, realizing that Ji Changsheng would not have entrusted him with this ring merely for its Secret Spirit compendium; the true prize must be the dimension connected to it.
Given the uncertainty surrounding the potential inhabitants of that dimension, Chen Guan's hesitation was entirely understandable. Following a discussion with Ming Fei, they concluded that Ji Changsheng and the Ji Family harbored no apparent motive to deceive him. Therefore, they resolved to proceed and explore the dimension.
Chen Guan donned appropriate attire, had Ming Fei conjure armor to augment his defenses, and simultaneously activated both his Secret Law and Body Protection Divine Skill before pushing open the door and stepping through.
Upon crossing the threshold, Chen Guan was taken aback by the sight that greeted him. It was, in fact, a cave, simply arranged, with stone furnishings such as beds, tables, and chairs meticulously carved from the cave's natural rock. The bed was furnished with bedding, and a few basic necessities for daily life were present within the cave.
The pets Chen Guan had previously summoned were present within the cave, unharmed, and no other living entities were discernible. The cave was not extensive, and Chen Guan quickly surveyed its confines, soon identifying a peculiar issue.
This cavern felt like it was nestled deep within a mountain, presenting an exit to the outdoors but no other connecting passages.
"This is a cave inside a mountain with no other exits. What was Ji Changsheng doing in here? Could it have been a training spot, where he wouldn’t be discovered or ambushed?" Chen Guan found it peculiar, though there wasn't much of significance to observe.
"Hold on," Chen Guan suddenly recalled something and hurried to a wall within the cave.
He had noticed a peculiar, modern-looking contraption on the wall earlier and hadn't examined it closely.
Upon a more thorough examination, Chen Guan opened the covering of the device and found himself looking at glass lenses.
Closing one eye, he brought the other closer, and was immediately met with a sight drastically different from the cave's interior.
This apparatus was unmistakably a telescope, quite rudimentary in design, yet large and extending through the mountain's solid rock.
Chen Guan was perplexed. Given Ji Changsheng's formidable abilities, surely he could employ some Secret Skill to see miles away, even discerning the finer details of an ant's legs. Why then would he need this device?
Nevertheless, understanding that Ji Changsheng likely had his reasons, Chen Guan chose not to use any Secret Skills. Instead, he peered through the telescope with his own eye.
As he looked, Chen Guan's jaw went slack.
He had never anticipated that Ji Changsheng would arrange such a setup in this location.
Through the telescope, Chen Guan observed a platform situated just outside a cliff face. On it rested a pool, and within it, a fair-skinned beauty with raven hair was bathing.
"Wow... King Ji is actually a peeping tom..." Chen Guan stared again, disbelief etched on his face.
