God Of football Chapter 2: We Up
Previously on God Of football...
After surveying his surroundings, Izan's gaze settled upon a luminous screen that hovered before him. It bore a striking resemblance to the interface of a football video game.
Spotting a shimmering object shaped like a gift box, Izan attempted to interact with it, only for his finger to pass right through.
[Does the host wish to open the starter gift pack?] The system's voice echoed.
"Uh, yeah," Izan responded, still grappling with the surreal reality of his situation. As the system opened the pack, text swiftly appeared on the screen:
[BEGINNER STARTER PACK]
+10 stat points to a selected attribute
+5 stat points to any 3 selected attributes
+1 star weak foot
+1 star skill moves
"Whoa, this is just like FIFA!" Izan exclaimed. Before he could delve deeper, a car pulled up beside the pitch. "Miura!" a female voice called out.
Izan turned to see his mother in the vehicle. He quickly gathered his belongings and the ball, then sprinted towards the car.
Reaching it, he tossed his bag into the backseat and settled into the front passenger seat.
"How was practice, Miura?" Komi Izan's mother inquired.
"It was good, Mum," Izan replied in Japanese, electing not to burden her with the day's extraordinary events, fearing it would only amplify her concerns.
Komi had relocated to Spain at the age of 24. She married Izan's father at 27, and their son, Izan, was born a year later. Their time together was cut short when Izan's father passed away five years after Izan's birth.
He had been a responsible man, leaving behind insurance policies that would provide for Izan and his sister, Hori, who was three at the time.
As a single mother, Komi dedicated herself to ensuring her children's happiness, a role she had fulfilled admirably thus far.
Izan offered her a smile as they headed home. His eyes fluttered open as the car navigated into the driveway.
Eager to test out the system, he promptly retrieved some groceries along with his bag before heading inside. He placed the groceries on the table and then made his way upstairs.
Just as he was about to turn towards his room, he encountered his sister, who reminded him of his upcoming meeting with his teacher, Miss Lauren. He acknowledged this with a nod before quickly entering his room.
Hori, Izan's sister, paused, looking slightly perplexed. "What's up with him?" she murmured.
"What do you mean?" Komi Izan's mother asked upon hearing Hori's comment.
"Well, most days after training, he seems rather dejected, but today, he appears so eager and lively."
Komi gazed up the stairs for a moment before asking Hori to assist her with preparing dinner. Meanwhile, Izan shut his bedroom door.
He first visited the bathroom to wash up. Afterwards, he sat on his bed, legs crossed, and said, "System."
SKILLS POSSESSED
Stepovers: 40% Completion
Izan noticed his player rating had climbed from 53 to 57, filling him with elation. A new piece of information appeared under his player details: the potential category, which outlined the ceiling of a player's footballing ability.
"System, can you elaborate on the potential category?" Izan inquired.
POTENTIAL
This defines the ultimate football ability a player can achieve.
70-74 Potential = Mediocre Players
75-80 Potential = Decent Players
81-85 Potential = Good Players
86-89 Potential = Great Players
90-92 Potential = World Class Players
93-96 Potential = Legendary Players
97-99 Potential = Alien
The system presented all the data. Izan smirked, proclaiming, "So I have the potential to be a decent player. No, that won't suffice; with the system, I will become an Alien!"
"Miura, come down for dinner," Komi called out, pulling Izan from his thoughts. "Okay, Mum," Izan responded before heading downstairs to eat.
