God of Fishing Chapter 3713 - Side Story (4)

A short while later, Zhang Bushuai and his two companions had been pummeled until they were black and blue. They wailed, “Old Ren, save us!”
“Teacher Ren, does your conscience not prick you while you just stand there watching?”
“Teacher Ren?”
Suddenly, a gruff voice barked, “Bah! Three grown boys can’t even take down one little girl, and you actually have the nerve to cry for help? Get over here, every one of you, and practice the 108 Desolate God Bodies!”
“Huh!”
“No way!”
“Teacher Ren, please, go back to your business! We’ve got this under control!”
Ren Tianfei materialized with a cold snort. “Scared now? It’s far too late. Get to practicing.”
Just then, a Nine-Tailed Mantis Shrimp descended from the sky and spoke up, “Senior Ren, the hour is growing late. Many guests are expected today. Perhaps you could postpone their punishment?”
“Humph! Consider yourselves lucky.”
“Uncle Ritian, give us a lift!”
Nine Tails replied irritably, “I warned you yesterday that guests were arriving, yet you insisted on messing around in the sea. Fine, just wait until you get back and see the scolding you get!”
A moment passed.
Upon a floating island.
Inside a sprawling manor, the elegant notes of a flute drifted through the air. Within a massive open-air kitchen, Le Renkuang hummed a tune with a piece of dried fish clamped in his teeth. His hands danced through the void, causing hundreds of enormous pots to vibrate wildly in midair. A hundred pillars of flame surged toward the heavens; it was quite a spectacle, though perhaps lacking in traditional grace.
Han Fei stood nearby, meticulously sampling a variety of sauces. He remarked, “Kuangkuang! This new sauce of yours is incredible! How did you come up with the recipe?”
Le Renkuang gave a proud snort. “Who do you think I am? Ever since you stepped down as the God of Cookery, my creative inspirations have been flowing like a mountain spring. You may refer to me as the Great Inventor now.”
In the adjacent area, Zhang Xuanyu and Yi Xiyan were lounging in the kitchen snacking on melon seeds. A messy pile of shells had already accumulated on the floor at their feet.
Zhang Xuanyu asked, “By the way, who are Xia Xiaochan and the others meeting? Why are they taking so long?”
Han Fei replied with a hint of annoyance, “You'll see soon enough. Hey, you two, clean up those shells. If you're bored, go over there and watch the chess match.”
On the far side, Old Han and Tang Ge were locked in a game of chess. Tang Ge’s brow was furrowed in concentration, while Jiang Linxian watched the struggle with a gentle smile.
Upon hearing the suggestion that Zhang Xuanyu and Yi Xiyan should join them, Tang Ge immediately protested, “Don't! Those two will just make a racket and distract me with their constant seed-cracking.”
Zhang Xuanyu shrugged his shoulders. “Fine! I suppose I'll just stay here and keep eating my seeds!”
Click, click, click…
The flute music remained mellow and bright. Jiuyin Ling leaned against a stalk of purple bamboo near the house, lost in her playing. Nearby, Ximen Linglan sat in a chair enjoying the sun, a cluster of red grapes in her hand. Each time she ate one, a flicker of power radiated from her body, only to be drawn back inside before it could travel even half an inch.
Occasionally, Ximen Linglan would stroke her stomach, which was noticeably protruding.
After finishing her snack, Ximen Linglan called out, “Xiao Jiu, come have some! There are so many here, I can't possibly eat them all by myself.”
Jiuyin Ling laughed softly. “Those are all for you. I’ve heard that eating grapes helps ensure the baby has large eyes. Xiaobai ate plenty of them during her pregnancy.”
No sooner had Jiuyin Ling spoken than a chorus of rowdy voices approached.
“Dad, I’m being picked on!”
“Dad, Han Luoluo is bullying us again!”
“Uncle Han Fei, you have to do something about Han Luoluo! Make her limit her strength!”
“Yeah, you should just seal her Cultivation!”
“Hmph!”
Perched atop Nine Tails’ head, the little girl crossed her arms and snapped, “Who told you to throw fish at me in the first place?” Han Fei let out a chuckle. “Several boys can't even handle my daughter? How do you have the face to come here complaining?”
Squeak!
The door creaked open as Luo Xiaobai stepped out, a book clutched in her hand.
Han Luoluo instantly leaped down from Nine Tails and rushed to Luo Xiaobai’s side like a blooming flower. “Mom, they started it!”
Luo Xiaobai gave her daughter a playful tap on the head with her book. “You little troublemaker. Enough now, behave yourself. We have guests arriving shortly.”
Hula! Hula!
The three complaining boys immediately forgot their bruises and dashed toward the kitchen.
Le Renkuang shouted at them, “Stay back! Guests are on their way. Anyone caught stealing a bite will be punished!”
At that moment, streaks of light pierced the horizon. As they neared the floating island, the lights transformed into awe-inspiring beings.
There were savage Kylins, divine trees stretching tens of thousands of feet high, massive beasts with backs like iron mountains, giant birds that eclipsed the sun, and azure dragons gliding through the sky…
“Wow!”
The children craned their necks, staring at the sky in wonder.
Xia Xiaochan and Han Chanyi were the first to land. “Everyone, we have arrived,” they announced.
Han Fei looked up and shouted in mock frustration, “Hey! That’s enough! My island only has so much space. Are you trying to sink it?”
“Hahaha!”
“Fine, fine, we shall shrink our forms.”
The Primordial Kylin reduced itself to the size of a small dog, while the other massive beasts shifted into human forms with a mere thought.
In an instant, the manor was filled with hundreds of individuals.
These newcomers were all lugging bags of various sizes.
Noticing the children's wide-eyed stares, the Primordial Kylin and the others felt a bit self-conscious. They reached into their bags, pulling out godly weapons and Divine Fruit Dao Books shimmering with Great Dao runes. In the gentlest voice he could muster, the Kylin roared, “Here, little ones, these are gifts for you.”
“Boohoo~”
The moment the Primordial Kylin spoke, Han Luoluo, Zhang Bushuai, and the others burst into tears of fright.
Smack!
Li Daoyi delivered a sharp slap to the Primordial Kylin’s head. “How many times do I have to tell you to use a soft voice?”
The Primordial Kylin was bewildered. Wasn't that soft?
Nearby, Cangtian was equally exasperated. “Look at what you’re giving them. Is that really a toy for a child?”
Han Fei was at a loss for words. “Listen… I invited you for a meal, but what is all this? Are you moving in?”
Cangtian laughed loudly. “Junior Brother, we need a place to stay! Besides, isn't it better if we're all together? We’ve decided to settle down here for good.”
With that, Cangtian gestured to the crowd, “Alright everyone, don't just stand there. Shall we go pick out our territories?”
Han Fei: “…”
Le Renkuang, Zhang Xuanyu, and the others stared at Han Fei in shock. Why are all these Immortals coming to live with us? You never mentioned this!
Luo Xiaobai spoke up, “Seniors, it is wonderful that you wish to live here in seclusion. However, hundreds of thousands of commoners will be moving here shortly. You should indeed select your locations carefully.”
Hearing this, Han Fei realized how clever Luo Xiaobai was. He had wanted to impose rules on them, but if they were surrounded by ordinary people, they would naturally have to restrain themselves to maintain their seclusion. He wouldn't have to say a word.
The Immortals immediately caught onto Luo Xiaobai’s meaning.
One of them laughed. “No matter. We are here for peace, not for war. We shall seal our powers later…”
Han Fei smiled. “Then it’s settled! Forget about territory for now. Let the banquet begin!”
“Come on… let’s eat!”
