God of Fishing Chapter 3709 Transcendence (7)

Previously on God of Fishing...
Han Fei finds himself in the Immortal Martial Star Sea, confronting the enigmatic Immortal Martial and Chaos. They reveal his unique status as the only transcendent being who did not rely on mysterious matter, making him stronger in essence. The duo explains their need for him to replace the ominous, which has betrayed them, implying he has the power to consume and control it without being bound to its nature. A pact is proposed, but Han Fei grapples with the moral implications of their plan, realizing it could lead to the loss of countless lives in their relentless struggle against dark forces.

Chaos let out a raspy cough, followed by a chuckle. "Thankfully, you did it. Your trajectory might be nearly impossible to replicate, but eventually, someone will succeed, wouldn't you agree?"

A long silence followed before Han Fei finally spoke, "I have one condition."

Immortal Martial gave a nod. "And what might that be?"

Han Fei declared, "If this is meant to be a trial, then let it remain a trial. I intend to unseal the gates to the Return Ruins and establish a path back from the Path of No Return. Those who wish to remain may proceed with the trial. However, those who want to leave should be allowed to return freely without any constraints. Give them back their liberty."

Immortal Martial remained quiet for a long duration before answering, "Very well. But even if they choose to return, the Immortals are forbidden from interfering directly in the conflicts within their respective Seas of Stars. If they did, the purpose of the evil ominous would be lost."

"Agreed."

To the current Han Fei, refining the ominous was a minor task that would not occupy much of his time.

Furthermore, he wasn't necessarily planning to consume and refine the ominous personally. Observing Immortal Martial and Chaos, he realized they were certainly inferior to him in certain regards. While these seven mysterious substances were incredibly potent, they likely operated under ancient, fixed laws. In contrast, Han Fei was currently bound by no such rules.

Should the Emperor Sparrow manage to ascend, he might actually be a superior candidate for the task.

He inquired, "How much time remains before the Ultimate Dark Creatures reach this place?"

Immortal Martial replied, "It could be as rapid as several dozen eras, or perhaps as slow as thousands. If you wish to observe, I can stay with you."

"No need for that."

Han Fei grinned. "Dozens of eras... what a massive stretch of time! I actually find myself craving some meat."

With that, Han Fei produced the gourmet food Le Renkuang had gifted him prior to his departure. He selected several meat skewers, shoving one into the hands of both Immortal Martial and Chaos.

The two of them stared in confusion: "???"

"Crunch~"

Chewing happily, Han Fei remarked with a smirk, "There is plenty of time left. Why don't you two think about experiencing life in the mortal realm for a while? Can you even recall the last time you had a peaceful sleep? Why should I fret over what might happen dozens of eras from now?"

"Is that right?"

Immortal Martial suddenly flashed a cunning smile. "Since you put it that way, I suppose I can stop maintaining this facade. Acting this way is truly exhausting. Chaos, you can stop pretending as well."

"Hahaha!"

Upon the altar, the cross-legged figure of Chaos stood up. His withered, skeletal, and heavily wrinkled features began to rejuvenate.

Slowly, Chaos transformed into a familiar old man.

Han Fei’s eyes went wide, and the skewers he was holding slipped from his fingers, hitting the ground.

"F*ck, Teacher?"

Han Fei felt a wave of disbelief. He had witnessed everything imaginable, so what else could possibly leave him this stunned?

He never anticipated that someone could be this much of a fox.

Han Fei’s lip twitched. "But didn't Cangtian claim you had perished?"

The Prophet let out a soft laugh. "Oh, that was merely a clone. If I didn't give him that motivation, how else would he have reached the Immortal realm so quickly?"

Han Fei felt a strong urge to roll his eyes at the Prophet. How many eras had this old man been playing everyone for fools?

Gritting his teeth, Han Fei said, "Old man, you're such a natural actor. It’s a shame you aren't the one replacing the ominous."

The Prophet smirked. "Regrettably, that is beyond my capabilities!"

Han Fei replied with annoyance, "Keep up the act then! I'll be waiting for the day your secret is fully out."

...

A short while later.

The altar manifested once more within the Return Ruins. Han Fei’s sudden arrival triggered a massive commotion along the city walls.

The resurrected Immortals remained in a state of shock. Was this truly the individual who had surpassed the Immortal Level? The very person responsible for their revival?

As Han Fei stepped down from the altar, not a single one of the three thousand Demon Gods moved to block his path.

Han Fei raised his arm, and a blinding radiance—resembling a sky-piercing spear—erupted. It tore through the Return Ruins, bypassed the Return Ruins Island, sliced through the Sea of Great Daos, and carved out a magnificent grand path.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Han Fei struck six times, forging six distinct corridors.

The crowd watched in bewilderment as the First Supreme asked, "Han Fei, what is the meaning of this?"

Han Fei replied calmly, "Listen up, everyone. I have modified the laws. These six corridors connect directly to the Chaotic Star Sea, the Primordial Star Sea, the Mystic Yellow Star Sea, the Heavenly Spirit Star Sea, the Origin Energy Star Sea, and the Immortal Martial Star Sea. Starting today, you are free to return to the Return Ruins whenever you wish, or travel to any of the other Seas of Stars. However, there is one condition: no Immortal is permitted to interfere in the wars of those worlds, nor can they reveal their true Immortal realm."

The crowd was stunned into silence.

"We... we can actually go back?"

For a moment, the majority of the Immortals were lost in confusion. After such a long struggle, if they simply returned now, what had been the point of their endless battles?

Cangtian shouted, "Junior Brother, what happened to you? Where did that altar take you?"

The Primordial Kylin added, "Brat, don't keep us in suspense."

Han Fei smirked. "I cannot reveal the details. I can only tell you that the three thousand Demon Gods are merely a trial. If you defeat them, the truth will be revealed. If you cannot, then continue to fight them at your own pace, or return home to enjoy your life and see the six worlds. You can come back and resume the trial whenever you feel ready."

"A trial?"

"You're telling me this whole thing was just a f*cking trial?"

"Damn it, what kind of bastard dreamed this up? Show yourself if you have the guts! Even if I'm no match for you, I'll spend my last breath cursing your name!"

Swish~

Han Fei landed on the city wall of the Return Ruins and greeted his Eldest Senior Brother with a grin. "Eldest Senior Brother, I'm heading back now. They are waiting for me."

"Understood."

Eldest Senior Brother gave a composed nod, showing no signs of shock.

Nearby, the Primordial Kylin bellowed, "Void, how can you be so calm? Han Fei is your little junior brother. Why aren't you grabbing him and demanding answers?"

Eldest Senior Brother looked at the Primordial Kylin with a flat expression. "I am not surprised because I do not possess a heart. Regarding this trial, if Little Junior Brother remains silent, it is because he is unable to speak of it. Why would I bother asking?"

"Argh!!"

The Primordial Kylin began rolling on the ground. "This is infuriating! I'm so damn angry~"

Back on the Return Ruins Island, Ximen Linglan and a group of peak-level dominators were watching the sky. Suddenly, six radiant Great Daos pierced through the heavy mist, carving six massive openings into the island.

"What is happening?"

"Those look like passages. Where do they lead?"

"What just occurred within the Return Ruins?"

"Look! Someone is returning..."

On the island, a man shouted and pointed toward the mist, his eyes wide with frantic excitement.

As for Ximen Linglan, tears began to stream down her face. She was caught in a whirlwind of laughter, crying, relief, and joy.

In the blink of an eye, a familiar figure appeared directly before her. While everyone watched in awe, Han Fei reached out and softly brushed the tears from Ximen Linglan’s cheeks.

"Let's go home."
