Global Lord: 100\% Drop Rate Chapter 5

A Racial Skill Book! Even a Racial Talent Sphere!
“I agree, but you must not overextend yourselves. If you cross paths with a beast that is too powerful, do not engage. Retreat at once. Your lives are the priority! Also, ensure you carry enough water bags and roasted meat for the journey.” Zhou Zhou gave his consent after a brief moment of contemplation.
He would never have permitted them to step outside the protective barrier back when he only commanded a handful of professionals.
But things were different now; he had ten soldiers at his disposal!
Though their numbers were modest, they faced little risk as long as they avoided any fog monsters at the Green Bronze-Tier.
Furthermore, through the act of slaying monsters, his troops—and by extension, himself—would grow in power through combat. This gave him the confidence to let them venture into the wilds to hunt.
A short while later—
Led by Bai Yi, the ten soldiers equipped themselves with supplies and crossed the boundary of the protective barrier to begin their hunt.
Blazing Sun City remained shielded by the barrier. As long as Zhou Zhou and the remaining residents didn't foolishly wander out, there was no necessity to keep soldiers behind for protection.
“I wonder if Bai Yi’s team will find different species of monsters. If they do, perhaps I can unlock new types of soldiers,” Zhou Zhou mused to himself.
The day transitioned rapidly.
Throughout the afternoon, the remains of Desert Fog Lizards were continuously hauled back to the territory by the hunting party. Zhou Zhou stayed busy extracting the loot from each corpse.
Whenever a Sword Shield Soldier Recruitment Book appeared, Zhou Zhou utilized it immediately, sending the newly summoned warriors to reinforce Bai Yi’s hunting group.
Bai Yi and her subordinates remained extremely careful, avoiding unnecessary gambles during their hunt.
As the hours passed, not a single life was lost, and the size of the military force expanded at a rate visible to the naked eye.
When night arrived, Zhou Zhou was eating roasted meat and browsing the World Channel when a sudden tremor ran through his body.
Sensing a massive surge in his physical vitality and mental clarity, he quickly checked his personal status panel.
Under the Strength Level category, his rank had ascended to the Black Iron-Tier Intermediate Grade!
“I’ve finally leveled up.”
A wide smile spread across his face.
However, his joy was interrupted when he noticed a thick, scarlet fog beginning to swirl in the air just outside the protective barrier.
“The scarlet fog is here!” He stood up abruptly, his expression turning grim.
Rows of blood-red text began to manifest before his eyes.
[Warning!]
[Nightfall is approaching, and the scarlet fog will soon shroud the majority of the High Continent! Myriad fog monsters will manifest from this scarlet mist. Their attributes will be boosted by 500%, and they will begin a mindless slaughter! During this period, only those within a Novice Lord’s protective barrier are safe! It is highly recommended that Lords recall all personnel to your territory immediately to prevent total annihilation!]
“Bai Yi and the others must return at once. They’ll be in grave danger once the sun fully sets.” Zhou Zhou stared at the ominous warning with a heavy heart.
He glanced back at the World Channel.
The other Lords were also in a frenzy discussing the crimson mist.
[That red fog looks absolutely terrifying!]
[Everything was fine during the day, so why does the world turn into a nightmare after dark???]
[The night is too scary… I don’t want to be a Lord anymore. I just want to go back to Cerulean Planet!]
Zhou Zhou skimmed a few more posts but lost interest quickly.
His eyes remained fixed on the horizon, waiting for his people. Finally, his wish was granted!
It wasn't just the original ten who returned—a total of 46 people marched back into the settlement!
Among them were the 36 additional reinforcements Zhou Zhou had summoned throughout the day using the Sword Shield Soldier Recruitment Books he had looted.
At this early stage of the game, it was almost inconceivable for any other Lord to possess such a large force of professionals.
“My Lord! We have returned! There were no fatalities, though seven soldiers suffered minor wounds,” Bai Yi reported as she approached Zhou Zhou.
“See that they get some rest,” Zhou Zhou ordered.
“As you command!” Bai Yi saluted. She promptly organized the care of the wounded and directed soldiers skilled in craftsmanship to begin erecting temporary tents for the night.
Zhou Zhou watched her efficiency with silent admiration.
Then, he realized something: Bai Yi’s group hadn't brought back any new Desert Fog Lizard corpses this time.
Without hiding his curiosity, Zhou Zhou questioned her about it.
“Yes, My Lord. This is part of what I needed to report. After delivering the previous batch of lizard remains, we intended to scout further out. However, we stumbled upon six members of a foreign race! Since we had already cleared most of the Desert Fog Lizards in the immediate area, I decided to prioritize investigating these outsiders for you. Thus, we stopped hunting for a while,” Bai Yi explained.
Foreign races?
Zhou Zhou’s heart thudded in his chest.
Could they belong to another Lord?
“Are you sure they weren't just another type of fog monster?” he asked, clinging to a final hope.
It was only the first day of his development, and his territorial expansion had barely begun. He wasn't eager to clash with other Myriad Realm Lords so soon.
If given enough time, he could use his talent to loot thousands of professionals! Only then would he feel truly prepared to face other Lords.
“Their eyes were not scarlet. I do not believe they were creatures born of the fog.”
“Furthermore, they were locked in combat with four Desert Fog Lizards when we spotted them, and they took some losses.”
“The group eventually sensed our presence. They broke off the engagement immediately, abandoning the bodies of their fallen comrades to make a quick escape.”
As she finished her report, Bai Yi signaled with her hand. Two Sword Shield Soldiers stepped forward, carrying a strange-looking corpse which they laid at Zhou Zhou’s feet.
The body was a pale silver-white, standing roughly 1.2 meters tall. Its limbs were thin and spindly, but its head was disproportionately large. Two solid black eyes stared vacantly at the sky, frozen in the moment of its death.
The cause of death was obvious—a brutal bite that had torn through its throat.
Zhou Zhou looked down at the body, his brows furrowing. This creature looked remarkably like the classic depictions of aliens from movies.
He checked the creature's data through the interface.
