Global Era of Star trekking Chapter 1811 - 882: Prelude to Apotheosis

The icy tone of Yan Hou reverberated through the makeshift alien encampment, brimming with fury and bitterness.
Nearby, the Chaos Giant Elephant, radiating intense oppressive force, bellowed out:
"Crushing bones and scattering ashes? Yan Hou, your rage has blinded you."
"That city... and that warship, their dangers surpass our expectations, rashly calling in extra forces will merely draw more covetous eyes, perhaps even... from the ’higher order’. Once that happens, even if we seize Human Emperor City, how do we divide the rewards? Can we hold onto power?"
The Evil Ability Phantom known as "Evil Eyes" had eerie green fires dancing wildly at its fingers, whispering with a hiss:
"The elephant speaks true, that ’Order Light’... I sense its horrifying suppression over our very essences. In the next clash, we could end up as the true casualties following Blade, so we require not only additional soldiers, but... a way to completely counter such a danger."
Yan Hou panted roughly, with shadowy power swirling unstably around him.
Despite its own wrath, the Chaos Giant Elephant recognized the worries voiced by Yan Hou and Evil Eyes, for an Eleventh Rank Myth stood as the backbone of its kind, and losing it here would mean its species lagged in the later split of gains, or worse, got swallowed by rival alien groups lurking nearby.
"So, what’s our move?" Yan Hou snarled softly, his voice sending ripples that made the void buzz.
"Do we simply abandon it? The ’Original Torch Seed’ Chaos Wonders under the Torch Human Clan’s grasp—I know you’re aware of its value."
"Securing it alone offers us a shot at unlocking the Twelfth Rank path!"
"Abandon? Never." Evil Eyes replied with steady composure.
"We require a ’key’... or perhaps... a ’shield’."
"Make it plain!" Yan Hou demanded, irritation flaring.
"I recall that beneath the ’Primordial Mother Queen’ of the ’Corrosive Light Worm Swarm’ lies a unique subunit army, experts at consuming and mimicking diverse energies, and even... laws."
Evil Eyes continued deliberately: "If we convince them to join, their ability might briefly absorb or duplicate elements of the ’Order Light’s power."
The Chaos Giant Elephant issued a doubtful rumble:
"Those bugs? They’re endlessly ravenous, hungrier than the Chaotic Abyss itself—what price do we pay to lure them in?"
"Price?"
A cold grin echoed in Evil Eyes’ psychic transmission.
"The price involves, once Human Emperor City falls, handing over a tenth of the city’s inhabitants and a tenth of the Torch Civilization’s ’Civilization Origin’ for their feasting first. And we..." Its mind scanned the Giant Elephant and Yan Hou.
"We claim what we desire most—a secure method to shatter that warship, plus... an even portion of that Chaos Wonders."
"A tenth? Do those vile pests merit such a share?"
"Against the peril of total ruin and empty hands, this toll is bearable."
Evil Eyes reasoned with cool logic.
The Chaos Giant Elephant appeared swayed by Evil Eyes’ words.
Following a short hush, Yan Hou broke the quiet.
"Agreed!"
With a superior option available, dragging in yet another ally force made no sense, considering there was just one ’Original Torch Seed’, and fewer claimants meant better odds of breaching the Twelfth Rank barrier.
Noting their consent, Evil Eyes promptly added:
"I’ll reach out directly to the ’Predator Emperor Insect’ from the Corrosive Light Insect Clan; it and I share some past ’deals’."
The spiritual forms of the Chaos Giant Elephant and Yan Hou drew back a bit, signaling assent:
"Meanwhile, we halt the assault, rally our troops anew, dispatch minor squads for ongoing raids, denying them any respite, wearing down their vigilance, as we await our ’visitors’..."
——
Within Human Emperor City, the triumphant shouts faded swiftly.
The walls bore widespread burns and fissures, while repair beams of energy, resembling silver threads, crisscrossed to heal the scars of combat.
In the main plaza before the Human Emperor Hall, many battered warships rested, with mechanical limbs frantically repairing them amid a tense, exhausted air.
Hovering over the city, Jiang Yuan, Ji Heng, Wilson (the Thirty-Six-winged Holy Angel’s master), and the Star Universe Azure Dragon convened, yet the mood stayed grim.
Soon after, as the remaining three Mythical Enslaved Creatures (Nine-tailed Heavenly Fox, Mythical Asura, Planet Devourer) joined, the top-level council convened without delay.
"Their pullback felt far too effortless." Jiang Yuan knitted his forehead, eyeing the withdrawing alien blips on the stellar map, a hint of disquiet in his gaze.
"Three Eleventh Rank Myths, though repelled, aren’t truly crippled, particularly that Shadow Aggregation, which survived an Order Light hit and escaped badly wounded—its power defies measurement."
Ji Heng wore a grave expression too, stating gravely:
"The ’Order Light’ holds just two more immediate activations, if they strike back, expect preparations on their end, and the following battle may not end as favorably."
"The Holy Angel’s Holy Light Power is severely depleted, requiring time to rebuild its Holy Power." Wilson’s tone carried a faint weariness.
The Immortal Qin Star Universe Azure Dragon unleashed a resonant dragon cry.
All present knew the recent success rested on shock tactics and heavy losses, bordering on a costly win, with the foes’ withdrawal resembling a strategic pause.
At that moment, Li Qing, hauling his weary frame and reeking of gunpowder, stepped onto the command deck, fresh from calming the Dragon Flame Fleet’s survivors, his eyes rimmed red:
"Update: scouts detected several minor alien bands lurking near our city borders, repeatedly launching test strikes at our observation posts and power hubs. They buzz like pests, impossible to scatter or eliminate fully."
