Max reveals he has undergone significant cybernetic enhancements, integrating machine parts directly into his body. The Eclipse Revenant Clan members, including Minerva, Tieria, Jillian, Sandara, and Lyra, gather at Mist Shelter for a new mission. They prepare supplies for exploring an ancient, machine-guarded facility revealed by Eden Island's ascent. As they await the remaining members, Tundra directs them to rest and eat, but their plans are interrupted by the dramatic arrival of Shane's greatly enlarged pet, Sparky the Thunderbird.

Shane stared at the enormous Thunderbird in front of him, his hand still resting against its massive beak.

For a moment, he couldn’t help but feel somewhat emotional.

It had been a very long time since he had seen Sparky.

Not because they had become estranged or because Sparky had left him, but because the Thunderbird had gradually become busy with its own life.

After growing stronger through its training in the Fairy Realm, Sparky had begun accompanying Survivors from the various shelters on missions outside their territories. The Thunderbird was particularly useful when dealing with dangerous Zombies or even Vampires, and its ability to fly made it an excellent scout.

Whenever a shelter needed assistance, Sparky would occasionally join them.

Sometimes it would spend weeks away from Shane.

Then months would pass.

And eventually, Shane had simply become accustomed to hearing reports about Sparky from other people instead of seeing the Thunderbird himself.

He had even heard stories about Survivors encountering a massive yellow bird in the wilderness and immediately realizing that there was no reason to fear it.

Sparky had apparently become somewhat famous.

Shane had never expected that.

The Thunderbird that had once been nothing more than a small, mischievous bird capable of delivering an occasional electric shock had grown into this enormous creature.

Shane couldn’t help but remember the first time he had obtained Sparky.

Back then, the Thunderbird had come from an Unhatched Pet Egg.

The System had described it as a Common-grade pet with a small chance of shocking enemies during combat.

That was all.

There had been nothing particularly impressive about it.

Its potential had seemed limited compared to the countless powerful creatures that Shane would eventually encounter.

But Sparky had slowly grown.

It had been exposed to countless electrical phenomena, trained in the Fairy Realm, and fed an enormous number of Zombie Cores, Spirit Stones, and Mana Crystals.

More importantly, it had survived countless missions.

And it had fought alongside Shane and many other survivors.

It had experienced the Apocalypse.

And somehow, after all these years, the little Thunderbird that had once fit comfortably in Shane’s arms had become a massive beast capable of shaking the entire Mist Shelter with a single landing.

Shane couldn’t help but smile.

"You’ve grown a lot."

Sparky immediately responded with a loud cry.

"CAWWWW!"

The Thunderbird lowered its enormous head again.

Shane laughed.

"Alright, alright. I know."

He reached up and began stroking its feathers.

The moment his hand touched Sparky’s head, golden sparks immediately jumped between his fingers.

Zzt!

Shane’s body trembled slightly.

"Hey!"

Sparky immediately pulled its head back before it stared at Shane.

Then, after a moment, it tilted its enormous head to the side.

Shane narrowed his eyes.

"Did you do that on purpose?"

Sparky blinked innocently.

Then the Thunderbird suddenly let out a happy cry.

"CAW!"

Shane couldn’t help but laugh.

"You’re still the same."

Despite its enormous size and frightening strength, Sparky’s personality hadn’t changed much.

It was still mischievous and playful.

And apparently, it still enjoyed shocking its owner whenever it had the opportunity.

Max, who had been watching the reunion from the side, suddenly approached.

"That’s Sparky now?"

Shane glanced toward him.

"Yeah."

Max looked at the enormous Thunderbird.

Then he looked at Shane.

"I remember when it was smaller. Back then, I could carry it."

Sparky suddenly turned its massive head toward Max.

The Thunderbird’s golden eyes focused on him.

Max immediately stopped talking.

"Well... technically, I could carry it."

Sparky spread its enormous wings.

A terrifying amount of lightning immediately began gathering around its body.

Max slowly took one step backward.

"Maybe I couldn’t."

Shane laughed.

"Don’t provoke him."

"Who said I was provoking him?"

Max continued backing away.

"I’m simply respecting its growth."

Sparky seemed satisfied with the answer.

The lightning around its body slowly disappeared.

Shane shook his head.

Even after all these years, Sparky still remembered the people around him.

That was something he had always found interesting about the Thunderbird.

Sparky had never been particularly intelligent when it first hatched.

It had simply followed Shane around, played with lightning, and occasionally caused trouble.

But after spending years alongside humans and other mystical creatures, its intelligence had clearly developed considerably.

Perhaps that was another reason why it had become so useful to the shelters.

It wasn’t merely a powerful flying beast anymore.

It had become one of the members of their community.

Shane slowly withdrew his hand and spoke softly, "Come here."

Sparky immediately lowered its head.

Shane placed his palm against the Thunderbird’s forehead.

The familiar sensation of their connection immediately returned.

Ding!

Shane’s eyebrows rose.

Exceeded its original potential?

He quickly opened Sparky’s detailed information.

The moment he saw the changes, Shane’s expression gradually became more surprised.

The Thunderbird’s original description had long since disappeared.

The weak creature with a five-percent chance of stunning enemies was nowhere to be found.

Sparky had evolved far beyond what the System had originally predicted.

Its body had undergone a complete transformation, and the lightning energy flowing through its body was several times denser than before.

Even its original ability, Shocking Swoop, had evolved.

Shane continued reading.

The more he saw, the wider his eyes became.

He had expected Sparky to become stronger.

But he hadn’t expected it to grow this much.

"Looks like you’ve been busy while I was gone."

Sparky immediately lowered its head and rubbed against Shane.

The enormous movement almost knocked him backward.

"Hey, careful!"

Shane looked up at the enormous Thunderbird.

"Welcome back, Sparky."

The Thunderbird immediately gave him its answer.

"CAWWWW!"

The cry echoed across the floating island.

Shane couldn’t help but laugh as he had a feeling that this expedition was going to become even more interesting than he had originally expected.
