Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle Chapter 1211: Sasha
Whom~
The battlefield was silent when Sasha arrived.
The Dark Elf who had guided her bowed low, waiting for acknowledgment, but she ignored him completely.
"Mhmm... So this is the place."
Her crimson eyes swept across the charred ground... There were broken corpses of wyverns, trolls, and salamanders scattered like discarded toys.
The air still carried the faint scent of blood and ash... There were also those remnants of powerful magic unleashed earlier.
She stepped lightly across the ruined slope, her human form radiating heat.
The spectral traces of centaurs lingered faintly, their hoofprints burned into the soil.
Sasha crouched, brushing her fingers across the ash. "This is quite an interesting battle..." she murmured. "Two elves slain... an army gets destroyed... And yet, they only faced three or two human mages..."
The Dark Elf dared to speak. "My lady, the shelter nearby—"
Sasha raised a hand, silencing him.
Her gaze flicked toward the Soft Bread Shelter in the distance. The walls were intact, survivors moving cautiously within.
She dismissed it with a faint smile. "Weaklings. Not worth my time."
Her interest was not in shelters or frightened humans.
She sought strength... At the very least, she sought the ones who had dared to kill her father’s chosen commanders... and of course, some entertainment as well.
Closing her eyes, Sasha whispered an incantation in the draconic tongue.
In just a few moments, flames coiled around her body, before it sank into the earth. The ground then trembled as her magic spread outward, searching, probing.
It was a spell older than the human world... a dragon’s sense for mana, able to trace the echoes of power across vast distances.
Whom~
At first, she found nothing but faint sparks... the residue of lizardmen chants, salamander flames, ogre roars.
They were all weak and irrelevant.
But then, far beyond the horizon, her spell caught something stronger. Two distinct signatures pulsed like beacons...
Sasha’s lips curved into a smile. "There you are."
She opened her eyes, and the flames started fading.
"They are already a hundred miles away. Strong mages... stronger than most I’ve seen in this realm."
The Dark Elf bowed again. "Shall we pursue immediately?"
"No," Sasha said, her tone dismissive. "They are moving fast. I will follow their trail. Let them think they are safe. Let them fight their battles... I’ll play with them for a bit. You can return to father."
***
Just like that, for five days she tracked them, her draconic magic guiding her like a compass.
At this point, she already knew about the names of the two mages who were followed by a servant.
Shane, Merlin, and their servant, Alex.
She ignored villages, ignored wandering zombies, and ignored even the vampires who prowled at night. None of them mattered. Only the two signatures mattered.
On the fifth day, she reached a ridge overlooking a desolate plain.
The air smelled like rot as the ground was littered with corpses.
And there, at the center of the carnage, she saw them.
Shane and Merlin stood side by side...
Shane’s Bio‑Armor gleamed as he fought like a close combat mage, chaining skills in rapid succession. Merlin’s staff, which was from a World Tree, glowed with runes, his elemental magic was like a storm, causing damage everywhere.
Together, they faced a towering figure... a Zombie Lord, its body stitched from countless corpses, its aura suffocating.
The Zombie Lord then shouted something at the two before, hurling waves of undead forward.
"Kill!"
Shane dashed into the horde of zombies...
Sasha watched as his fists glowed, tearing through zombies with Force Breaker and Soul Rend.
Merlin raised his staff, summoning firestorms and lightning bolts that incinerated dozens at once.
"So... this is their strength. They’re not that strong."
Nonetheless, she continued to watch.
She saw the Zombie Lord swung a massive claw, striking Shane. His Bio‑Armor absorbed the blow, the Warden’s Talisman pulsing faintly as his resilience held.
Merlin then countered with a lightning storm as bolts cascaded down to stagger the creature.
The battle was brutal and chaotic...
Yet the two humans did not mind it at all as they were slowly winning against the Zombie Lord.
They fought with confidence, with synergy, as if they were partners for years!
Sasha leaned against a stone, amused.
Just now, she noticed that these two may not be using powerful spells, that could match draconic spells, but they have an amazing amount of Mana!
"Father was right. These are not ordinary humans. They killed the elves, and now they’re playing against a Zombie Lord."
The Dark Elf who had followed her after reporting to Sato, finally spoke.
"My lady... shall we strike now?"
Sasha shook her head with her crimson hair flowing like fire. "No. Let them finish their battle. Let them show me everything they can do. I want to see their limits. Only then will I decide how to break them."
Her smile widened... "I hope they can entertain me."
The Zombie Lord roared again, summoning a tide of corpses.
This time, however, Shane and Merlin seemed to have had enough and decided to end this.
***
The horde pressed forward like a tide of rot, but Shane didn’t mind this at all.
He clenched his fist, feeling the Warden’s Talisman pulse against his chest.
"Enough," he growled.
The talisman flared and soon pale blue light spilled across the battlefield.
The ground shook as spectral centaurs erupted once more, their ghostly hooves pounding like thunder!
Thud... Thud... Thud...
They charged into the undead ranks, spears piercing skulls, shields smashing torsos.
The horde was destroyed under the phantom cavalry’s assault!
Shane also dashed forward with Bio‑Armor glowing. His fists blazed with Force Breaker, tearing through zombies in rapid succession.
Each strike sent shockwaves that obliterated clusters of corpses.
Behind him, Merlin raised his staff...
"Haha.. I guess I’ll take this seriously now... Burn!" he commanded, unleashing a firestorm that swept across the plain.
Flames consumed dozens of undead in just one move.
The Zombie Lord roared with its stitched body convulsing.
It swung a massive claw, striking Shane, but the talisman’s resilience absorbed the blow.
Boom!
Shane pushed forward, chaining Soul Rend into Adrenal Burst, his fists hammering the creature’s chest.
Boom! Boom!
The centaurs converged with spectral weapons piercing the Lord’s body.
Roooaaar!
Merlin seized the moment, summoning a lightning storm.
"Hey, Zombie Lord... You’re not resistant to lightning, right?"
Soon, bolts cascaded from the sky, striking the creature repeatedly. The plain lit up with fire and thunder, the storm overwhelming the stitched monstrosity.
Shane leapt high, descending like a meteor. His fist then collided with the Zombie Lord’s chest.
Bang!
The impact echoed across the battlefield.
The creature staggered with its aura flickering.
Merlin’s staff blazed one final time, channeling both fire and lightning.
A torrent of elemental fury engulfed the Lord, consuming it in a storm of flame and thunder.
The ground shook violently.
The Zombie Lord convulsed, then collapsed with its body exploding into fragments of ash and bone.
Bam...
Just like that, its aura dissipated, leaving silence.
At the same time, the horde was destroyed as they were no longer protected by the Zombie Lord’s Aura...
Shane exhaled, his fists still glowing faintly.
The spectral centaurs circled him, then faded back into the ether.
"That’s how you end a Lord," he muttered.
Merlin descended beside him... "It’s certainly overwhelming... You summoned the centaurs again, and they tore through the horde like it was nothing. Very interesting artifact..."
"Yes... But I can’t use them infinitely... The durability of the Talisman is low by now." Shane replied.
Alex rushed then forward, eyes wide. "Sir Shane... Master Merlin... you destroyed a Zombie Lord! Incredible! Are you going to loot it now?"
"Not yet... We have a visitor." Shane said.
From a nearby hill, Sasha watched, her crimson eyes gleaming. She leaned against the stone, amused. "So... they can kill a Zombie Lord like that. Interesting."
Then, she saw how the three started looking in her direction.
"You finally noticed me," she said with a chuckle.
Then, she disappeared from her previous location and reappeared near the group... There was just about a 10-meter gap between them.
Shane narrowed his eyes... "You’re not human, are you... Dragon?"
Her laughter rang out...
"Clever. Yes, I am Sasha, daughter of Lord Sato. And you... are the ones who killed my father’s commanders."
Merlin’s staff hummed with residual lightning, but he did not strike. "You came here to fight us, didn’t you?"
Sasha tilted her head...
"Perhaps... But not yet, wrinkled human. I’ve seen enough battles today. I wanted to see you with my own eyes first."
Alex swallowed hard, clutching his staff. "She’s... she’s a dragon?"
Shane didn’t answer as he calmed his nerves... "Why wait? If you want revenge, take it now."
Sasha chuckled, stepping closer... "Revenge? No. I don’t care about elves or armies. They were weak. What interests me... is entertainment."
As soon as she said this, the three of them finally felt it... The true Aura of a Dragon!
This was completely different from Shane’s summon and Raze’s dragon partner!
