Boom!
Once again, the Kraken's tentacles pounded into the barricades, causing the shoreline to tremble violently.
Quickly, hordes of smaller sea zombies gathered near its massive frame, clambering over one another toward the docks!
The Automated Turrets managed the regular-sized zombies, while the Aegis Force Barrier kept them at bay.
Yet, this Kraken-like zombie proved far more challenging.
Defenders unleashed continuous fire, yet the beast's sheer size overwhelmed them!
Aboard the Providence's bridge, Harry clenched his teeth tightly.
"Blind firing won't cut it… Normal zombies fall to headshots. But this monster… where's its brain?" He was completely clueless.
Though he damaged tentacles with his shots, progress stalled there. He sensed they were near victory against this colossal zombie!
The crew scanned desperately, employing detection skills and sensors on the beast.
Readings soon revealed scattered corrupted tissues across its form, though one spot by the central bulk shone more intensely.
"There!" yelled an officer equipped with the enchanted Monocle.
"Behind the eyes, buried in the skull. That's the core infection site!"
Harry nodded firmly. "All units, concentrate fire on the head. Distract the tentacles till the Providence's main cannon charges up."
The Trident Mechs advanced boldly.
Amon spearheaded the assault, gaining confidence now with a solid strategy against the beast…
His mech soon carved through tentacles using a radiant halberd.
Two more flanked his position, thrusting and slicing to divert the monster's attention.
Rooooaaaarrr!
The Kraken bellowed furiously, lashing out wildly, yet the injuries refused to mend.
Dark blood along with foul substances spilled into the ocean, tainting the surging waves.
"That's good," Amon broadcast over comms. "No regeneration. Widen those wounds!"
Providence's turrets unleashed rhythmic barrages, ripping flesh fragments from the tentacles.
Wall snipers eliminated the lesser zombies, stopping them from overrunning the dockworkers.
Meanwhile, in her wrecked cockpit, Kira lay unconscious, already en route to medics. Her heroic stand granted precious time, yet the fight demanded closure now.
Chaos unfolded everywhere, leaving Fiona overwhelmed in monitoring…
Harry then addressed the weapons officer. "Main mana cannon status?"
"Charging. Thirty seconds remaining."
"Hold the line!" Harry bellowed.
Suddenly, the Kraken surged ahead, hurling a Trident Mech into the sea!
Boom!
Pilot Ryn ejected narrowly in time, deploying his parachute into the waves while another mech rescued him.
Amon's mech took a chest blow, cracking its armor, yet he stood resolute, jabbing the creature's eye once more for distraction!
"Cannon ready!" the weapons officer yelled.
Harry lifted his hand. "Target the head. Fire!"
The Providence's primary mana cannon fired a dazzling energy beam.
Whoosh~
It ripped over the water, slamming into the Kraken's skull squarely.
Boom!
The explosion hurled decayed flesh chunks everywhere.
Success at last! The beast recoiled, tentacles whipping chaotically.
"Direct hit!" the crew roared in triumph.
Still, the Kraken endured.
Its form spasmed, pounding both tentacles down to unleash towering waves crashing onto the docks!
By now, much of their barricade lay in ruins!
Harry balled his fists, urgency mounting… "Again! Keep firing!"
The cannon started recharging as turrets and Tridents intensified their assault.
Amon called out via comms, "Expose that head! Target the wounds!"
Following his order, mechs synchronized, plunging into the Kraken's skull and ripping out bone and tissue fragments.
Providence's turrets soon zeroed in on the area, widening the breach further.
At last, the cannon powered up anew.
Harry wasted no time. "Fire!"
The follow-up blast hit the raw wound, searing right through the skull.
Boom!
The Kraken seized in agony, tentacles flailing madly everywhere.
One crushed the watchtower and barricade utterly… Fortunately, defenders had evacuated beforehand.
Gradually, the beast's struggles weakened. Tentacles sank limply into the sea with futile splashes, and its eye glow dimmed away.
With one last tremor, the Sea Zombie King toppled into the waves.
Whooshh~
Its enormous corpse drifted motionlessly out to sea.
A hush descended. Defenders watched warily, fearing it might revive…
But comms relayed confirmation!
"I got the message! It's called Tentacle Sea King!"
Joseph, the Mana Cannon Operator, received this very message…
[ You have eliminated Tentacle Sea King Zombie. ]
[ Congratulations! You are the first to eliminate Tentacle Sea King Zombie, a high-tier zombie! ]
[ Hint: Only the first elimination of each Mid-Tier and above can provide special rewards! ]
[ You can select two rewards: 3 Double Experience Potions, 500 Zombie Cores, 3 Random Rare Gift Packs, 2 Gold Treasure Chests. ]
Shane promptly chose the 3 Double Experience Potions together with the 3 Random Rare Gift Packs.
Before long, the lesser sea zombies fell as well, while some higher-tier ones panicked and fled, plunging back into the ocean's depths!

Aboard the Providence, Captain Harry urgently broadcasted the announcement of their hard-fought victory to the entire crew!
Cheers burst forth from the crew moments later. Harry threw himself into the jubilant celebration too, thrilled at surviving the sudden onslaught… Finally, they gained true combat experience against the terrifying Sea Creatures!
"We did it… Providence defeated the Sea King Zombie!"
Amon's voice echoed through the comms as well…
"Good work, everyone. The Kraken is dead. Secure the area and recover the wounded."
The Trident Mechs swiftly hauled the massive carcass clear of the docks, leaving it for Raze or Shane to loot afterward.
After all, each of them held a special item granting multiple rewards from one single looting. Available solely from the Secret Shop, and since all knew this King Zombie promised enormous bounties, multiplying those gains made perfect sense!
Thus, the wounded got immediate treatment, while repairs kicked off on the battered shelter. Dockworkers scrambled to restore the barricades…
Eudora and Cici dove straight into Mech repairs, as Vasco and his squad inspected the Providence for damage.
"What a chaotic day…" Harry grumbled, staring out at the sea where waves lingered black from the zombie's spilled ink…
"That was merely one beast. Should more Sea Zombie Kings lurk out there… we must prepare ourselves."

At that moment, Fiona had linked up with Shane over comms, briefing him rapidly on the chaos.
[ Shane: Really? A Sea King Zombie and its horde? We're in the safe zone, right? Did it disappear or something? ]
[ Fiona: It was still a safe zone this morning. We even gathered fish without issue. ]
[ Shane: Then it's suspicious. A Sea King Zombie wouldn't attack so easily. ]
[ Fiona: I think that's still possible. Only low to advanced-tier zombies get warded off by the safe zone. ]
[ Shane: True… But the Sea King Zombies are different. They're smart. The Hammer Sea King I fought before had certain behavior. It only acted when something stimulated it. ]
[ Fiona: Do you think it got lured here? ]
[ Shane: Not sure… For now, use your rats to investigate. Try searching for any suspicious person entering or leaving the shelter. ]
[ Fiona: Copy that. ]
[ Shane: And Fiona… focus on anyone who looks too calm or even happy about the destruction. That's not normal. ]
[ Fiona: Understood. I'll have my swarm watch closely. ]
[ Shane: Good. Report back as soon as you find anything. ]
[ Fiona: Will do. Stay safe, Shane. ]
With the conversation over, Fiona slumped back against the command post wall.
Outside battle concluded, yet her mission was only ramping up.
She glanced at the clock… the perfect time had come to summon a new rat.
Raising her hand, she murmured the incantation softly.
A subtle glow flickered soon after, birthing a rat that scampered from the shadows…
"Join the swarm," Fiona commanded in a hush.
"Search the shelter. Look for anyone who seems happy about the destruction. Anyone smiling, laughing, or acting suspicious while others are repairing and grieving."
The rat squeaked its assent before bolting away, slipping into the dockyard's narrow fissures.
Fiona's swarm blanketed Blue Haven Shelter already… dozens of rats concealed in alleys, atop rooftops, inside storage chambers.
They acted as her sharp eyes and ears, infiltrating forbidden zones beyond any guard's grasp.
Moments later, she shut her eyes, tuning into the bond.
Her Sense Link transmitted their scurrying steps, minuscule claws rasping on timber, whiskers quivering as they sampled scents in the breeze… alongside nearly every sight in their path.
"Mhmm…"
Though Shane struck her as overly vigilant, Fiona embraced it fully. Traitor or none behind the assault, she'd deploy her rats to sniff out spies regardless.
Her senses revealed dockworkers laboring over barricade fixes. Mechanics wrestled with crippled Trident Mechs. Medics ferried the hurt to the infirmary.
Nearly everyone looked weary, dour, and fretful.
But then, an oddity perched atop the Portal Hall roof drew her notice...
"A bat?"
