Charlotte, consumed by rage and grief after days of searching, is shocked to find her brother Kael alive. Overwhelmed, she collapses into his arms, crying until she passes out from exhaustion. Kael cradles her while using his gravity powers to crush Katrin, demanding an explanation for her actions.

The gravity increased once more.

"Grughh-" Katrin’s scream turned into a choked, gurgling sound as her body was pressed deeper into the stone.

Blood pooled beneath her as more injuries opened up under the relentless force.

She could barely think through the crushing weight, but the cold, indifferent look in Brandon’s eyes told her there was no escape.

"I... I..." she gasped, blood bubbling from her lips. "I gave... Lyssandra... the stone..."

The pressure eased just enough for her to speak, but it remained heavy enough to keep her pinned and in apin.

Katrin coughed violently, spitting out more blood before continuing in a broken, trembling voice.

"She... she came to me... said she needed a way to trap Charlotte... I owed her a favor from years ago... I didn’t ask questions... I just gave her the Dead Clock Spire key stone... I swear... I didn’t know she would use it on you too... I thought it was only to weaken Charlotte..."

She struggled to breathe, her chest heaving under the gravity.

"I... I never intended to hurt you directly... I just wanted Charlotte distracted... she’s been gaining too much influence... threatening the balance among the Empyreans... I thought if she was weakened... it would be easier to... negotiate with her later..."

Katrin’s voice cracked as another wave of pain hit her.

"Please... that’s all I know... I didn’t plan any of this... Lyssandra acted on her own after that... I swear on my name as an Empyrean..."

She lay there, gasping and whimpering, her naked body trembling in the crater as she waited for his judgment.

Brandon remained silent for a moment, still gently stroking Charlotte’s hair with one hand while holding her protectively against his chest.

"You helped send my Big Sister and me into that tower... because of your petty power struggles."

The gravity pressed down harder for a brief second, making Katrin scream again before it eased slightly.

Brandon looked down at her with those calm blue eyes "You’re lucky she’s asleep right now."

"I will deal with you later."

With those final words, Brandon turned away from her.

He adjusted his hold on Charlotte, cradling her gently in his arms with one arm under her knees, the other hand supporting her back.

Her head rested peacefully against his shoulder as she remained deeply unconscious.

Brandon glanced down at her one last time, and his expression softened with quiet affection.

He pressed a gentle kiss to the top of her head "Let’s go home, Big Sister."

swoosh-!

He dashed upward into the sky with explosive speed.

A powerful gust of wind exploded outward from where he had been standing, sending dust and small debris flying in all directions.

The force of his takeoff left a shallow crater in the stone where his feet had been.

Katrin, still pinned in her own deeper crater, could only watch helplessly as the two figures shot into the sky and disappeared.

The villa was reduced to rubble.

Blood pooled beneath her as she struggled to breathe, her body slowly trying to heal what little it could.

’Somehow... I survived.’

---

Brandon held Charlotte securely in his arms as he shot through the sky at incredible speed.

The wind howled past them, but he used a thin layer of ether to shield her sleeping form from the cold and turbulence.

Mountains, forests, and rivers passed by in a blur as he headed straight for the home.

Every few seconds, he glanced down at her face.

He could see the exhaustion etched into her features even in sleep... with the dark circles under her eyes, the dried blood and dirt on her skin, and the faint lines of stress that had formed from days of relentless searching and fighting.

"I’m so sorry," he whispered to her, even though she couldn’t hear him. "You went through all of that because of me."

He adjusted his hold slightly, pulling her closer to his chest as he increased his speed.

After a while, he reached home.

Brandon descended slowly, landing gently on the front grounds just outside the main entrance.

He glanced around at the familiar gardens, and a deep sigh escaped his lips.

’It’s been so many years since I last saw them...’

His gaze quivered with a mix of emotions... relief, nostalgia, guilt, and quiet longing.

The weight of the long years spent in the past, the loop he had helped close, and the people he left behind pressed down on him for a moment.

He took a steadying breath and stepped forward.

He rang the doorbell.

A few seconds later, the large front door opened.

Florence stood there, looking exhausted.

There were heavy bags under her eyes, her hair was slightly disheveled, and her usual elegant posture was weighed down by obvious depression and worry.

For a split second, she simply stared at him, her mind struggling to process what she was seeing.

Then her eyes widened in shock.

"HUSBAND!"

She immediately stepped forward and threw herself into his arms and her body trembled as she clung to him, burying her face in his chest.

"Brandon... you’re back..." she whispered breathlessly.

Tears soaked into his shirt as she held him tightly, "I thought... I thought we lost you."

Brandon wrapped his free arm around her, still carefully holding the sleeping Charlotte with the other hand.

He kissed the top of Florence’s head, holding her close as she sobbed against him.

"I’m home," he said softly. "I’m sorry for worrying all of you. I’m here now."

Florence pulled back just enough to look at his face, her hands cupping his cheeks as fresh tears fell down her cheeks.

She looked athis face, before glancing at the sleeping Charlotte in his arms.

"Charlotte..."

Brandon gently adjusted his hold on his Big Sister.

"She exhausted herself. She needs rest. Let’s get her inside."

Florence quickly stepped aside, wiping her tears as she led him into the mansion.

The moment they entered the grand hallway, footsteps echoed from upstairs.

Ravene appeared at the top of the stairs, her eyes widening in shock.

"Husband...?" she whispered in a trembling voice. Then louder, "HUSBAND!"

She rushed down the stairs and joined the hug, wrapping her arms around Brandon.

Tears streamed down her face as she pressed her forehead against his shoulder.

"H-Husband..." she cried softly.
