Getting spoiled in a woman dominating world Chapter 468: Conference [1]
*vroom*
The car rolled smoothly along the winding coastal highway as the late-afternoon sun hung low.
Brandon kept one hand loose on the wheel, the other resting on the gear shift, fingers tapping idly in time with the soft track playing through the speaker.
He was humming along with the song when the GPS chimed softly "In 200 meters, turn right."
The mansion appeared at the crest of the next rise, and Brandon eased the car to a stop just beyond the gates.
A few seconds passed and the double front doors swung inward.
Esmery stepped out.
She wore a deep emerald-green dress with an off-the-shoulder neckline dipping low enough to reveal the elegant swell of her cleavage.
The skirt fell in soft layers to mid-calf, slit high on one thigh so that each step flashed a long, toned leg.
Brandon forgot to breathe for half a second.
She crossed the flagstones, her heels clicking softly until she reached the passenger side.
Opening the door, she quickly stelled in "Thank you, Brandon."
The scent of her perfume followed her in, and Brandon blinked once before smiling "That’s a pretty dress."
With a delighted chuckle, she nodded "Thank you..."
She smoothed the silk over her thigh as she settled the seatbelt across her chest "Also, are you sure we don’t need a driver? It’s a two-hour drive."
He shook his head, already shifting into gear "It’s okay. I can drive."
She looked at his face for a moment and muttered "I’m surprised you came to pick me up," she admitted quietly. "I thought you would be coming to the meeting with Florence."
Brandon eased the car back through the gates, waiting until they closed behind them before answering.
"Oh, Florence isn’t coming today. Kiera will be there to represent the Bleaufort family."
Esmery tilted her head slightly "I see..."
Brandon continued to drive the car, and in two hours they reached the place.
The Grand Assembly Hall building looked more like a palace than a meeting venue, and entering the courtyard, Brandon quickly parked the car.
Stepping out of the car, Brandon looked at some luxury cars around him, and there were some helicopters too.
Two women attendees who were standing in the front were startled to see Brandon, and one of them quickly went back to inform.
Esmery accepted Brandon’s offered hand and stepped out gracefully.
The slit in her dress parted with the movement, flashing a long, toned leg before settling again.
Esmery adjusted the thin strap on her shoulder, "Brandon," she said quietly, her voice low enough for only him to hear, "stay close to me... to show your support toward me."
He looked down at her and then smiled.
Without a word he stepped in closer, sliding one arm around her waist.
His palm settled low on the curve of her hip and the movement pulled her gently against his side so their bodies aligned shoulder-to-hip.
"Is this good enough?" he murmured against her ear.
She was stunned for a moment before a pleasant smile appeared on her lips "Yeah..."
At this time, he heard a familiar voice from behind "Brandon."
Hm? Brandon turned his head and saw Kiera walking towards him.
She is wearing a sharp black pantsuit with her hair pulled into a low ponytail.
Kiera glanced at Esmery and turned to him "Are you out here wooing more women?"
Eh? With a dry smile, he shook his head "No..."
Kiera gave him a suspicious look and sighed "Well, anyway, Mom asked me to give the letter to announce that the Bleaufort family is formally stepping back from the Great Noble House status."
"And also vouch for Esmery Vernuil’s family to become the next Great Noble House member."
Esmery nodded her head "Thank you..."
As they were about to enter, a beautiful woman with one arm stepped out of the building.
Maerina Vaelis Caeles, matriarch of House Caeles, one of the Great Noble Houses, hurriedly walked to him. - [1]
She stopped three paces away and bowed deeply "I didn’t know you were making an appearance today, Lord Herald."
"I am pleased to welcome you to today’s Noble Houses’ meeting."
Esmery was taken aback to see this ’What... The matriarch herself bowing for him? I mean, I know he is influential, but this...’
Brandon turned to look at her "Shall we go?" he asked, squeezing her waist gently.
She blinked and nodded her head "Yeah, let’s go."
Maerina stepped to the side, gesturing gracefully toward the doors.
Brandon kept his arm around Esmery’s waist as they walked up the final steps together.
As they entered the hall, the people who were already seated turned their heads in unison.
Looking at him, some people stood up because of their belief in Goddess Rheanne.
Brandon glanced at the five chairs on the elevated platform, reserved for the people from the Great Noble Houses.
And below them, there are many other chairs for people from other noble houses.
Maerina gestured with her hand and spoke "You can sit up there with us, Lord Herald."
But Brandon shook his head "No, I am with Esmery... So I will be sitting here."
He guided Esmery toward one of the long tables in the middle tier.
Maerina’s expression flickered, and she sighed in her heart before walking to her place on the elevated platform.
Kiera followed Maerina up the short steps and took the empty seat beside the Bleaufort crest
The matriarchs of Rhiannon’s and Delacroix’s house are already in their seats up there.
In the corner of his eyes, Brandon saw a dark-haired woman and noticed her glaring at him.
Esmery also slightly turned her head and whispered "She is the matriarch of House Sytheria... you beat her daughter and humiliated her in the tournament."
Brandon smiled faintly "Then, let’s beat her in voting today."
A few more minutes passed, and everyone settled into their respective seats.
Leaning towards Brandon, Esmery whispered "Isn’t it kinda suffocating being the only man here?"
With a nod, he whispered back "It is, but I have already gotten used to it by now."
Sitting on her chair, Maerina spoke "Well then, since everyone is here... let’s start the conference."
