Isaac and Selene are reunited on Sky City when three powerful Awakeners from Florathi arrive, demanding an inspection and cooperation. Isaac easily incapacitates their leader, D-01, and warns them away. However, Isaac senses the Spirit of Machines' presence, seemingly angered by the Vitaroids, and worries about a potential war.

After a brief silence, D-01 spoke in a calm voice. "I apologize, Lord Isaac, but we can't budge on this matter. The Sky City is too important for us to simply ignore, especially with the Thousand Year Stampede approaching."

Before Isaac could respond, several groups began approaching from different directions, with each group riding enormous aerial beasts that carried them through the sky.

One group consisted mostly of plant-like Awakeners from Verdant Hollow, a City inhabited by several powerful plant species. Their bodies had natural features resembling vines, bark, flowers, and leaves, although their appearances varied considerably from one individual to another.

Another group came from Luminara, the City of the Lumivine. They were a tall species with pale white skin and four symmetrical eyes, and their unusual appearance made them easy for Isaac to recognize even from a distance. This City was a part of Third Priest's devotee.

The third group came from Evergrove, one of the Cities primarily inhabited by the Florathi species. Unlike the other groups, almost everyone in this formation belonged to the Florathi race, and their orderly formation made it obvious that they were acting under the authority of their City.

The final group came from Ironroot Crossing, a City known for having a mixture of different species living together. Their group was similarly diverse, with beast-like Awakeners, insectoid races, humanoid species, and several other appearances mixed together as they approached the Sky City.

Isaac looked at the four groups surrounding the area with a calm expression. Just as he was about to say something, a voice suddenly echoed through the sky.

"What is happening here?"

Everyone turned around at the same time, and Isaac's expression changed slightly when he saw Emily floating in the distance. Waves of mana fused with the Spirit Element rolled off her body, spreading through the surrounding area and causing the aerial beasts beneath the Awakeners to become visibly restless. The sheer amount of mana emitting from Emily was twisting and freezing the space.

Several of the beasts began backing away despite their riders trying to control them. A few Awakeners also shivered when they felt the pressure coming from Emily, and some instinctively tightened their grip on their weapons.

Emily looked down on them with a cold expression. "Why are all of you blocking the path of my husband?"

A few of the Awakeners immediately flinched when they heard her words. Isaac couldn't help smiling when he saw their reactions because Emily's battle inside the Great Dungeon had been witnessed by far too many people for her reputation to remain unknown.

She had commanded several Abyss monsters, Ancient Kings, and Catastrophes during that battle. Considering that she could tame such terrifying creatures, it was only natural for these Awakeners to be wary of her, especially since they knew that they could potentially become targets of the same ability.

An Awakener from Evergrove eventually stepped forward. He was a middle-aged Florathi with a sturdy body and several green markings across his face, and he lowered his head slightly before speaking.

"Noble one, we hope you will not complicate things. We are only here to investigate the Sky City, and this matter concerns the safety of the entire Florathi Kingdom."

Emily looked at him without answering immediately. She raised one hand, and a scroll suddenly appeared before her before shooting through the air and unfolding above the gathered Awakeners.

The scroll grew larger as it opened, and a powerful voice immediately echoed from it. The voice belonged to the Seventh Queen, and although Jasmine herself was nowhere to be seen, the authority carried in her words was enough to make the atmosphere become tense.

"Heed my words, citizens of Florathi. Isaac Hargraves and those who accompany him are guests under the protection of the Seventh Queen. Any hand raised against them, any attempt to obstruct their path, and any intrusion upon what belongs to them shall be regarded as an affront to my name. Should anyone disregard this decree, I shall consider it nothing less than a declaration of hostility against the Seventh Queen herself, and I will answer it as such."

The voice faded, and the scroll disappeared into countless particles of light. Emily lowered her hand and looked at the Awakeners again.

"As the Seventh Queen has made clear, if you refuse to leave, your actions will be treated as a sign of war. I will not hold back if you choose to fight, so you should think carefully before deciding what you want to do."

Silence spread through the battlefield as the different groups looked at one another. Nobody seemed willing to be the first person to challenge the situation, because the circumstances had suddenly become much more complicated than they had expected.

Isaac was already strong enough to trouble their forces, while Emily's presence made the situation even more dangerous. On top of that, the Seventh Queen had openly warned them against interfering, and everyone knew that the World Tree had also shown unusual support toward Isaac.

D-01 gritted his teeth as he looked toward the other groups. After a few moments, he finally lowered his head slightly and spoke.

"We will withdraw for now."

The other groups reached the same conclusion, and one after another, they turned their aerial beasts around and began leaving the area. None of them were happy about the outcome, but nobody was willing to turn the matter into an actual war with the Seventh Queen.

Once the last group had disappeared into the distance, Emily finally descended toward the Sky City. Her cold expression disappeared almost immediately, and by the time she reached Selene, she was smiling warmly.

"Welcome back."

Emily opened her arms and hugged Selene without hesitation. Selene smiled awkwardly as she returned the hug, because she was not used to being approached so closely by most people outside of Alice, Isaac, and her best friend.

"Thank you," Selene replied, although her expression still looked slightly awkward. She clearly appreciated Emily's affection, but she had not yet become accustomed to such an close display of it.

At that moment, Catherine glanced toward the direction the Awakeners had left. She noticed something that others had not immediately seen and spoke casually.

"It looks like some of them still sneaked people into the Sky City. I'll go deal with them, but should I kill them or apprehend them?"

Isaac looked toward her and shrugged. "Do whatever you think is best."

"Okay," Catherine replied and disappeared but not before kissing Isaac on the cheek and winking at him.

Isaac smiled at her actions. He was then about to leave with Selene and Emily when Emily suddenly spoke again. "I'm staying here because the Dwarf King has been complaining that he wants to analyze the three spaces inside the Sky City, and I also think I can merge this Sky City with my Soul Space. I want to stay here and practice while everyone else returns."

Isaac looked at her with some surprise. "You can merge the Sky City with your Soul Space?"

Emily nodded. "One of my Class Advancement requirements is to merge a piece of land with my Soul Space, so if the Sky City qualifies, it should be possible. I want to try it while I have the opportunity."

Isaac considered her words for a moment before nodding. "All right, then I'll leave a clone with you in case anything happens."

Emily smiled and nodded in agreement. Isaac then left a clone behind before flying away with Selene toward the Seventh Queen's City.

During the journey, Selene eventually looked at him with curiosity. "What have you been doing while I was away?"

Isaac began explaining everything that had happened since their separation. He knew Catherine had probably already told Selene most of it, but he still wanted to explain everything himself because he had missed having the opportunity to simply talk with her.

Selene listened with rapt attention as he spoke. Her eyes remained fixed on him throughout most of the journey, and the happiness in her expression was obvious enough that Isaac occasionally smiled whenever he noticed it.

By the time they reached the hotel, Isaac had finished explaining "most" of what had happened. He had deliberately told her everything instead of assuming that Catherine had already passed along the information.

Alice was already waiting inside the room because she had decided to stay behind that day after learning that Selene was coming. The moment she saw Selene, she immediately stood up and walked over to hug her.

"Welcome back, Selene."

"Thank you," Selene replied with a warm smile as she returned the hug. Celia soon joined them, and she also hugged Selene before the three women finally sat down together.

They spent some time talking about everything that had happened while Selene and Catherine had been away. Isaac occasionally added something to the conversation whenever the topic involved him, although most of the discussion was simply about what everyone had been doing during their time apart.

After a while, Celia looked toward Isaac with a curious expression. "So why did Isaac come to us earlier than you?"

Isaac, who had been making coffee, suddenly froze. Selene also looked toward him before her cheeks became slightly red, and she quickly recovered her expression.

"He was worried about everyone and decided to come here early," Selene explained.

Celia stared at her for a moment and clearly realized that Selene was hiding the truth. However, she didn't press the matter and simply accepted the answer before smiling and continuing the conversation.

Naturally, the discussion eventually reached the incident involving the Seventh Queen's palace. Isaac felt Selene's gaze following him as he finished preparing the coffee and served the cups to everyone.

He sat down with the others, but even after doing so, he could still feel Selene looking at him. Isaac remained silent for a few seconds before finally sighing.

"I'm sorry, okay?"

Selene blinked and looked at him innocently. "I didn't say anything."

Isaac stared at her for a moment before saying, "Your expression is saying, 'How could you do that when we have a business deal with the Seventh Queen?'"

Selene shook her head and gave Isaac a gentle smile. "You must have had your reasons, and I trust you. I was just worried about you because I knew you were dealing with a lot while I was away."

Isaac nodded, although he still had a suspicion that Selene's business-minded personality was not particularly pleased with how he had handled the situation. She trusted him enough not to question his decision, but that did not necessarily mean she agreed with everything he had done.

Since he had already promised Selene that they would spend some time together, Isaac decided to keep his word. The two of them left the hotel and spent the rest of the afternoon walking around the city, visiting several places that Selene had not seen before and simply enjoying the time they had together without discussing anything particularly serious.

Isaac noticed that Selene seemed much more relaxed than she had been when they first reunited. She stayed close to him throughout their outing, and although she remained relatively quiet, the occasional smile on her face made it obvious that she was enjoying herself.

By the time they returned, the sky had already begun to darken. Emily had also returned to the hotel, and after greeting her, Isaac opened his Spatial Domain so they could discuss what had happened without worrying about anyone overhearing them.

Once everyone had gathered inside, Alice explained everything that had happened while they were away. Isaac listened quietly at first, but as the details were revealed, he noticed Selene's expression slowly becoming blank.

Selene remained silent for several moments after hearing everything. Then she turned toward Isaac, and her voice became so calm that it somehow sounded more frightening than anger.

"Isaac, I won't blame you for attacking the Seventh Queen. So don't blame me either, okay? I'm going to blow up her city and everything she has."
