Gathering Wives with a System Chapter 633 Naming The Happy Bunnies
Previously on Gathering Wives with a System...
They were the fire-attributed Happy Bunny and the ice-attributed Happy Bunny, the same two that Punpun had personally captured earlier. The pair stopped in front of him and looked up at him with curious, expectant eyes.
One had flames gently flowing around its body, while patches of ice covered parts of the other's fur. Neither of them seemed to have a proper grasp over their powers yet, as the flames flickered unevenly and the ice occasionally spread before shrinking back.
Isaac crouched until he was at their eye level and smiled.
"Yes? Is there something you want?" he asked patiently, waiting to see what the two little bunnies were trying to tell him.
The fire-attributed bunny immediately pointed a paw toward Punpun.
[Name,] he said before pointing back at himself.
The female ice bunny quickly nodded in agreement. [Name.]
Realization quickly dawned on Isaac.
"You want me to give you names?" he asked with a small chuckle. Both of them nodded so enthusiastically that their ears bounced up and down.
Alice and Catherine exchanged a glance as soon as they understood Isaac was going to name the Happy Bunnies. An unspoken agreement happened between them. They were just about to step in, but Isaac had already spoken.
"You will be Brant," he said, looking at the fire bunny. "And you will be Ava."
The two Happy Bunnies immediately began hopping around in excitement.
[Brant! Good! Thank you!] the fire bunny cheered, while Ava happily added, [Love you, papa!]
Watching their genuine excitement over something as simple as a name made Isaac smile without realizing it.
Their reaction quickly drew the attention of the others. One after another, the remaining Happy Bunnies stopped eating and looked toward Isaac. Soon, several excited voices rang out together.
[Name!]
[Me too, Papa. Name!]
[Papa! Name!]
The little bunnies eagerly rushed toward him until they had formed a fluffy crowd around his legs.
Before Isaac could respond to all of them, Alice stepped forward.
"We'll help you choose everyone's names," she said.
Isaac looked at her in confusion. "Hmm? I can do it myself, though. They're just names, so I don't really need help—"
"We'll help you with the names," she repeated. Although her tone remained polite, it didn't sound like she was asking for permission.
Beside her, Catherine continued smiling, but the determination in her eyes made Isaac feel she would support Alice without hesitation.
'Why are they acting like this? It's not as though the names I picked were strange,' he wondered.
After thinking about it for a moment, he simply shrugged. "Alright."
Alice's eyes glowed with satisfaction before facing the Happy Bunnies.
"Everyone, please line up. We'll give you names one at a time," she said.
Unfortunately, the little bunnies were still far too energetic to listen properly. Most of them continued hopping around while only a few paid attention.
Punpun decided to step in. He raised his tiny fist with a serious expression, silently warning the others to behave. Several Happy Bunnies immediately flinched before quickly moving into line.
After making sure everyone had started lining up, Punpun secretly glanced toward Celia, as if asking this was what she had meant. She nodded and gave him a thumbs-up with an approving smile. The small gesture seemed to make Punpun stand a little taller.
The lightning-attributed Happy Bunny, who had remained beside Alice ever since calming down earlier, also helped organize the line. Since it was among the strongest of the group, the others listened when it gently nudged them into place.
With the dragon maids helping from the sides, the Happy Bunnies eventually lined up according to the order in which they had been born.
Isaac watched the line with quiet amusement. Even the troublesome twins stood obediently without causing any mischief. When they noticed him looking at them, they smiled brightly and bounced once in place as though proudly showing how well they were behaving.
That made Isaac even more curious. Were they behaving because they instinctively sensed the enormous mana pool within him, or was it simply because they liked him enough to listen?
Whatever the answer was, he felt he would understand them better as they continued to grow.
The first bunny stepped forward. It was the little female who had stayed beside Celia ever since she was born. Alice crouched in front of her and spoke gently,
"You'll be called Frejya."
Frejya immediately smiled, clearly delighted with the name she had received. Catherine chuckled softly before gently patting her head. After happily accepting the affection, Frejya hopped away so the next bunny could come forward.
One after another, the Happy Bunnies received their names. Sometimes Isaac suggested one first, while other times Alice or Catherine made a recommendation that everyone agreed suited the bunny better. The process took a while, but no one seemed to mind.
Once everyone had received a first name, Celeste brought up another idea.
"They should also have middle names and a family name," she suggested. Catherine, Alice, and Celia nodded, clearly agreeing with the proposal.
Punpun's full name became Punpun Seri Hargraves. Hargraves was Isaac's family name, which the Happy Bunnies naturally inherited since they regarded him as their father. Seri meant "First" in Celia's native language and represented the first generation of the species.
Isaac listened before asking, "Do we really need a middle name that represents the generation? They're such a powerful species that I doubt they'll have many children."
From his perspective, it seemed like an unnecessary addition.
"Master, powerful species usually do have fewer offspring, but we don't actually know if the Happy Bunnies follow that rule. No matter how extraordinary they are, they're still bunnies. If they inherit the breeding traits of ordinary rabbits, their numbers could increase much faster than we expect," Celeste answered.
Isaac blinked before laughing quietly to himself. The image of countless Happy Bunnies multiplying like the rabbits from his previous life was strangely amusing. At the same time, it was also a little concerning.
Of course, if that really happened, he would end up with an army of future Apex Species Overlords. That was certainly not the worst problem to have. Even so, he hoped his farms—and pockets—would be ready by the time that day arrived.
Isaac prepared to leave the Soulbind Pendant. He had to fuse the cities, then start his Conqueror Trial.
The Happy Bunnies, as if sensing he was about to leave, became glued to his feet.
Even the responsible Punpun, was no different. Seeing that side of his reminded Isaac that Punpun was also a child.
