From Bullets To Billions Chapter 631: Take Them Down
Previously on From Bullets To Billions...
When Max leaped down from the wrecked stands and landed back on the stage, the instant his foot touched the ground, a intense vibration buzzed sharply in his pocket. Trailing that buzz, a rush of power—a subtle yet distinct hum—surged straight through Max’s frame.
’What’s this? I feel somewhat refreshed... it’s another boost,’ Max mused, a gradual grin creeping over his features. ’My phone in the pocket... it can’t be, right?’
Max had experienced this exact feeling several times previously, so he recognized it without doubt. It represented the tangible effect of his Vow, the power-up granted whenever substantial revenue rolled in. The sum didn’t require being a massive fortune to trigger it, only surpassing the regular daily flow from his operations.
’One of the guys... they must’ve pulled something off. They were probably concerned something bad happened to me,’ Max considered.
Such thoughts led him to a single individual, particularly the one most likely aware of his current predicament.
’It was definitely Aron. But to trigger this kind of boost... how did he arrange such funds?’
Max couldn’t dwell on it much longer. His priority was harnessing this fresh surge to fulfill his duty. Muscles tensed, senses heightened as the power integrated into his body.
’Okay... I’ve got a strategy now.’
Gazing at the pair of leaders ahead, Max had chosen his initial target. Yet, to spring the ambush, he veered away from it, charging straight at Ramon instead.
A fierce kick flew toward Ramon’s temple, deflected by the suit’s mechanical arm. Undeterred, Max unleashed a barrage of rapid punches in succession. Ramon parried each one, metal resounding with every clash. Without pause, Max pressed on with relentless strikes, all thwarted by the exoskeleton.
"Don’t you get it, this is pointless?" Ramon boasted, voice dripping arrogance from behind the visor. "Even striking my unprotected flesh wouldn’t do much!"
Right then, Max sensed it—a kick aiming for his head’s side. Not originating from his front, he knew it came from Darius.
Leaping high swiftly, Max whipped his leg toward the incoming threat at blistering, explosive velocity. Whether Darius’s genuine strike or deceptive "intent" feint, Max aimed to counter before impact. His foot connected solidly, slamming into Darius’s torso and shoving him backward.
’I matched my prior speed and power... but now that boost activates fully. With him off-balance...’
Touching down, Max whirled his leg into a powerful spin kick that thudded heavily against Ramon’s arm. The blow wasn’t to end the scientist but to halt any chase. Rather than lingering, Max bolted directly toward Darius.
Soaring upward, he rammed his knee into Darius’s chest, forcing the Black Hounds leader to stagger once more. Darius swung wildly in desperation, but Max slipped beneath it effortlessly. Springing erect, he plunged his fist deep into Darius’s gut.
Earlier clashes revealed a key pattern to Max. Darius handled most direct combat, serving as the main diversion. When Darius unleashed his cunning punches and kicks to disrupt Max’s guard, Ramon exploited the opening with a devastating strike, shattering rhythm and scoring clean hits.
Undoubtedly, Ramon outpaced and overpowered the duo, complicating sudden shifts against the exoskeleton’s assaults. Yet Max could manage Ramon somehow, inspiring this tactic.
Striking Ramon initially then baiting the sluggish Darius’s approach let Max counter effectively. This secured a landing blow, followed by an all-out assault to dispatch Darius fast. Only afterward could he confront Ramon solo.
Seizing Darius’s head from behind, Max yanked it downward while thrusting his knee into the face. Releasing the grip, he observed the head snap back from the impact.
"Recall those menacing words you spat at me on the cruise ship?" Max taunted.
Charging ahead, he vaulted skyward, twisting mid-air with boost-fueled momentum. A devastating spin kick crashed into Darius’s face, hurling his form and skull crashing to the floor.
"You allowed this small fish to evolve into a dragon," Max declared, towering over the defeated leader. Pivoting, he eyed Ramon positioned mid-stage. "Now, only one remains."
