Marco vows revenge on Sian for humiliating him during the broadcast. Meanwhile, a mysterious, powerful man with icy blue eyes observes Sian, who senses the man's deadly past. Sian, seeking only peace, tries to ignore the situation. He is then approached by Liang Zu, a fellow participant, who expresses admiration for Sian's strength. Sian briefly acknowledges him before trying to rest. The helicopter lands, bringing the participants to a forest where they will live for the next month, much to Sian's annoyance.

With the helicopter's arrival and subsequent landing, participants began to disembark, followed closely by the director and the rest of the crew who were tasked with preparations and addressing any potential emergencies.

As the contestants formed a line, the host's words faded into background noise for Sian, whose attention was entirely focused on his surroundings. From the moment his feet touched the ground, he had been meticulously scanning the area, searching for any hint of lurking danger.

The helicopter had touched down in a vast open space, which was also the location where the production crew had established their base camp. And by 'camp,' one shouldn't imagine a mere collection of tents and a campfire...

Instead, it was a comprehensive setup of portable cabins and mobile homes, meticulously arranged to resemble a small, self-sufficient settlement. This camp boasted all the modern technological amenities essential for survival, including solar panels, defensive systems, ample provisions, and a substantial supply of food.

Sian observed the crew members moving with remarkable efficiency, preparing everything at a pace that was nothing short of astonishing.

"It appears the program's team has placed a high priority on safety," Sian mused aloud, noting the presence of dedicated medical and rescue teams. "Perhaps the director was concerned about potential delays in receiving assistance, hence their strategic positioning at the closest feasible point for rapid intervention if necessary." Sian genuinely admired the director's foresight and strategic planning.

"Alright, our heroes, the adventure is about to commence. My sincere hope is to see all of you back safely in 30 days."

"Proceed.", the host gestured.

Following the host's cue, a swarm of small drones emerged, fanning out to surround each contestant, with two drones assigned to each individual.

At this point, Kim Hyun, the survival expert, stepped forward and announced, "Very well, please form a single file line and follow me."

Abruptly, a voice from within the group of participants inquired, "Mr. Kim, has the director provided you with a map detailing the route to the wooden house we are headed for?"

"No, the program is unable to provide any assistance, and neither can I. That would constitute cheating. However, rest assured, as some of you may have already observed, each participant has been equipped with a survival kit that includes a compass. Our objective is simple: proceed directly north, and we should reach the cabin within a day and a half at the maximum."

Aaron Wang, a man in his thirties presenting typical Chinese features but possessing a sturdier-than-average physique, let out a sigh and remarked with a casual tone, "It seems futile to anticipate any leniency from these individuals."

A participant standing nearby chuckled and draped an arm affectionately over Aaron's shoulder. "Why succumb to such pessimism, my friend? We haven't even begun, and you're already expressing discontent. How do you intend to endure an entire month here under such a mindset?"

Michael Cheng, a former Navy soldier of mixed Chinese-American heritage, had inherited his mother's striking green eyes and effortlessly attractive wavy chestnut hair. His features were sharp and defined, highlighted by a distinct scar that ran from his left eye up to his eyebrow.

Following his discharge from military service, Michael had grappled with depression, and it was his friend who persuaded him to join this program, hoping it would serve as a distraction and help him move past his troubles.

"Come on, let's rejoin the others. Cease your contemplative wandering."

Sian walked at a relaxed pace, following the main group. The exchange between the two friends reached his ears, evoking memories of his own comrades. Although in his previous existence, deep relationships had been a rarity – who dared to form unbreakable bonds when millions perished daily? This was further compounded by the pervasive betrayal and treachery that festered after the apocalypse. In such dire times, even familial ties had lost their significance...

Yet, those who fought shoulder-to-shoulder often developed a unique camaraderie, perhaps stemming from the absolute trust they placed in their companions to watch their backs. It was possible that having navigated countless life-or-death scenarios together, they had at least cultivated a sliver of appreciation for each other's lives. Sian harbored a faint hope that his former teammates had also survived, even wishing they could find themselves in a peaceful world such as this one, but he was acutely aware that such miraculous occurrences were exceedingly rare.

"Excellent, they've finally commenced. I've been anticipating the helicopter's descent for the past hour."

"Indeed, myself as well. My boredom was reaching its peak, but I anticipated things would become significantly more thrilling once we ventured into the forest. Otherwise, I would have certainly disengaged from the live broadcast."

"Observe how everyone else is moving in pairs or small groups, following the lead of expert Kim Hyun. Yet, that strikingly handsome individual is walking entirely alone, hands casually tucked into his pockets. Does he perhaps believe he's merely taking a leisurely stroll through his personal garden?"

"Hold on, that's our 'little angel.' He possesses nerves of steel; it would be prudent not to provoke him."

"To the commenter above, when exactly did I provoke him? I am merely making an observation. Everyone else is proceeding with caution, but he displays a distinct lack of concern. Did the host not issue a warning prior to our entry into the forest regarding potential encounters with insects and reptiles? What if he were to be bitten by a snake? I daresay he paid no heed whatsoever to the host's advisories."

"My prediction is that he won't last beyond half a day, given his delicate constitution... He appears far more suited to the life of a pop idol than that of an intrepid adventurer."

"Agreed."

In truth, Sian hadn't been paying attention to the host or director's words, his focus entirely on observing his surroundings and the director himself. However, this lack of outward engagement didn't mean he wasn't being vigilant. While the general audience might not have noticed, someone certainly did. Lan Qisheng, who carried a distinct scent of blood, had been trailing behind Sian. He observed Sian's movements as the younger man skillfully navigated around various obstacles and creatures. Even faintly toxic plants, which released a scent that attracted venomous insects despite their generally mild irritant effect, did not escape Sian's notice. "This kid... he's not ordinary. I wonder who he is? The headquarters didn't provide any information about a child like this," Lan Qisheng mused, his brow furrowing in thought. Sudden deviations from his meticulously laid plans unsettled him, as he preferred complete control over his operations. "There's something about this kid that I can't quite grasp." Ever since his gaze fell upon Sian's face, particularly those deep amber eyes that held a constant sharpness and power regardless of how the light shifted, Lan Qisheng felt a disquiet. These were not the eyes one would expect from a boy barely past puberty. After the group had traveled for approximately half an hour, a participant named Tong Xiao stumbled and nearly fell. "What's wrong, hey... Tong Xiao, what happened to you?" "I... I don't know, I... just..." "Step back a bit, let me examine him," a person named Kim Hyun intervened, approaching Tong Xiao to look for any signs of bites or injuries. Tong Xiao's complexion had turned a milky white, a clear indication of poisoning. Despite a thorough inspection, almost to the point of undressing him, no source of the poisoning was found. "I suggest you give up now. I can't determine what's afflicting you; you require immediate medical attention." "No... I don't want to, please, I have to stay. I can't afford to lose this opportunity... I'll lose everything if I quit now." "Tong Xiao..." The person holding Tong Xiao, now seated on the ground, began to weep. This was his close friend, his brother. He understood that this program represented Tong Xiao's final chance, and failing it meant certain death. Ben Wang's tears fell, a stark sight on his well-groomed, bearded face. This emotional scene, however, drew Sian's attention. He had been observing from the beginning, though he wasn't as deeply affected as the others. Having witnessed countless deaths and suffering, some even at his own hands, he now felt a sigh escape him. "What a bother. I was trying to avoid unnecessary attention," Sian murmured, his voice barely audible, like the hum of a mosquito. Lan Qisheng, who remained close by and had maintained his focus on Sian despite the unfolding drama, caught every word. "Doesn't want attention?" Sian tried to push through the crowd ahead but found himself blocked by the throng of people. "These fools, why are they surrounding a sick person like a swarm of bees?" "Damn it!" Sian cursed under his breath before raising his voice, "Get out of my way, now." His commanding tone caused immediate silence, drawing the attention of everyone present, including the audience, who stared at his striking, angelic face. "I won't repeat myself!" Sian declared, his expression conveying a complete loss of patience. "Move!" An unspoken weight and an almost mysterious power emanated from his voice, sending shivers down the spines of those in front of him. Marco, among them, felt compelled to clear a path, stepping aside. The palpable tension in the air dissipated as Sian moved forward, appearing like royalty walking between his troops. The scene, while dramatic, held a touch of humor that led fans to share clips set to the song "That's My King," which quickly garnered millions of views and likes. The fervent nature of fans could be quite astonishing at times. Reaching Tong Xiao and Ben Wang, Sian bypassed Kim Hyun entirely and focused his intense gaze on Tong Xiao, asking, "Do you wish to continue on this reality show?" "What are you saying? Can you—can you help him? Please, I'm begging you," Ben Wang pleaded quickly. Sian responded with an icy glare. "Was I speaking to you."
