Found 100 Million In My Rented Apartment Chapter 3

Previously on Found 100 Million In My Rented Apartment...
Ye Feng grapples with the shocking discovery of a fortune hidden in his rented apartment, believed to be stolen money linked to a deceased fugitive. After receiving a villa as a reward from the mysterious system for completing a navigation task, he learns of an impending tragedy involving popular singer Xia Qiu, who is slated to be in danger due to an explosion on Zhongshan Road. With time running short, Ye Feng rushes on his bike to save her, motivated by both the urgency of the situation and the prospect of additional rewards from the system.

Oscar Owes Me An Oscar

There was no doubt in Ye Feng’s mind that the Mercedes-Benz RV trailing behind was his intended mark.

Immediately, he began pedaling forward.

The traffic light shifted to green just as he pulled up alongside the luxury RV.

The vehicle started to accelerate.

The chauffeur of the Mercedes-Benz RV was preparing to drive off when a blue bicycle suddenly darted into his field of vision.

What was happening?

Was this a scam?

While the driver sat there stunned, the bicycle abruptly leaned toward the car.

A moment later, Ye Feng collided with the vehicle’s bumper.

Had he actually crossed paths with a professional scammer?

The driver’s eye twitched in frustration.

His first instinct was to call the authorities, but considering the high profile of his passenger, he decided to exit the vehicle and attempt a negotiation. If the demand for hush money wasn't too high, he would pay it just to avoid a scene.

As the driver stepped out, Ye Feng was already picking himself up from the pavement.

Seeing the chauffeur approach, he put on a look of sheer panic and blurted out, “Uncle, I’m so sorry! I’m really sorry. I only just started learning how to ride a bike. I didn’t mean to hit your car...”

It turned out he wasn't a scammer after all!

The driver let out a breath of relief and was about to dismiss the boy.

Suddenly, Ye Feng let out a startled cry.

“Wait! It’s you... Aren't you Xia Xia’s driver?”

Xia Xia was the affectionate nickname used by Xia Qiu’s dedicated fanbase.

As he spoke, he channeled the energy of a mindless superfan, making his reaction stay intentionally over-the-top.

The driver felt a headache coming on.

He rarely appeared in the spotlight, so how could this teenager possibly recognize him?

Before he could deny his association with Xia Qiu, the car door swung open.

A woman appearing to be in her late twenties, with a beauty rating of about 80, stepped down from the vehicle.

This was Xia Qiu’s manager, a woman surnamed Wang, known to everyone as Sister Wang.

Sister Wang walked over to the driver and demanded, “What’s the delay?”

She had only noticed the impact and assumed it was a minor accident, prompting her to investigate the holdup.

“Sister Wang, here's the situation...”

The chauffeur quickly briefed her on what had occurred.

Upon hearing the details, Sister Wang's brow furrowed.

It seemed far too convenient that someone would accidentally hit their car and immediately identify the driver!

She couldn't help but suspect that this boy, who looked barely twenty, was targeting Xia Qiu on purpose.

Was he a member of the paparazzi?

Had he been lying in wait for them?

No, that didn't make sense; today's itinerary was strictly confidential. There was no way he could have known they would take this specific route.

Furthermore, she hadn't spotted the young man following them at any point.

What was his angle?

Unable to figure it out, Sister Wang looked him in the eye and asked bluntly, “What is your purpose?”

“Purpose?” Ye Feng acted stunned, as if he had been caught red-handed.

However, seeing the uncertainty in Sister Wang’s eyes, he realized she was just fishing for the truth. He quickly shook his head in denial.

“Sister, I don’t have any hidden motives. If you really want the truth, could you just let me see Xia Xia for a moment?”

“Are you truly a fan of Xia Xia?” Sister Wang remained skeptical of his identity.

Ye Feng gave her an innocent look, “Of course. Xia Xia is my goddess. I’m a huge fan. Can I please just see her?”

“No!” Sister Wang refused immediately.

Regardless of how harmless the boy appeared, she wasn't about to let a stranger near Xia Qiu for safety reasons.

Since the driver hadn't actually caused any injury, she wanted to end the encounter and send Ye Feng away as quickly as possible.

Suddenly, a figure dressed in light purple emerged from the RV.

It was Xia Qiu herself!

Her facial beauty was a solid 93, and her physique was easily another 93!

While her face held a pure, innocent quality, her figure was remarkably mature. She was far more stunning in person than in any promotional photographs or videos!

Sister Wang’s expression shifted the moment she saw her star step out.

“Xia Xia, why did you come out? I’ve almost handled everything. Go back inside and rest.”

As she spoke, Sister Wang kept a protective eye on Ye Feng.

Ye Feng felt a bit slighted.

Did he really come across as such a villain?

Xia Qiu offered a gentle smile. “Sister Wang, I caught the whole conversation from inside.”

She turned her gaze toward Ye Feng, her lovely eyes sparkling with a hint of curiosity.

Seeing this, Sister Wang remained silent but stayed close to Xia Qiu’s side, ready to intervene if anything went wrong.

“Did you recognize my car from a distance and stop me on purpose?” Xia Qiu asked after a brief silence.

Her tone was remarkably level, showing no signs of irritation. In fact, she seemed almost concerned.

Ye Feng’s opinion of her rose when he realized she wasn't acting like a spoiled diva.

Knowing his mediocre acting wouldn't hold up under her scrutiny, he decided to be honest.

“I guess I couldn’t hide it from you, Xia Xia!”

“I thought the license plate looked familiar earlier, but I wasn't certain. Once I saw the driver, though, I knew it was you.”

“Xia Xia, I’m a huge fan. Would you mind giving me an autograph?”

“Of course I can!” Xia Qiu replied with a smile.

Ye Feng produced a pen and a piece of paper.

After signing it, she handed it back to him and spoke in a tone one might use for a younger brother, “But~ little brother, you shouldn't do things like this anymore. It’s extremely dangerous, do you understand?”

Ye Feng nodded his head vigorously.

After tucking the autograph away, he stole a glance at the fuel truck.

The tanker was only about 50 or 60 meters away, meaning the danger had not yet passed.

Because of this, he continued to linger, engaging Xia Qiu in further conversation.
