"Like what?" Ye Feng looked at this pretty woman with a faint smile.
Xu Jingxin rolled her eyes at him with a hint of coquettishness, then decisively changed the topic. "You don’t come to me for no reason. Tell me, why are you looking for me this time?"
Ye Feng smiled. "It’s really nothing, I just bought you some clothes."
"I don’t believe you." Xu Jingxin shook her head. "You, Ye Feng, would come here to give me clothes? The sun has risen from the west."
"Alright," Ye Feng shrugged. "There is indeed something."
Xu Jingxin revealed an "I knew it" expression.
"But," Ye Feng continued. "I did buy clothes for you. Try it on to see if it fits."
Xu Jingxin looked at him and finally relented.
She carried the bag and walked toward the back seat of the car. She opened the door and sat inside.
It was very quiet in the car.
Ye Feng leaned against the car and lit a cigarette, waiting patiently.
Five minutes later, the back door opened.
Xu Jingxin got out of the car.
The moon-white qipao perfectly fit her body. The orchids on her neckline made her neck look slender. Her waist was small, and her calves, fair and slender, were exposed at the bottom of her dress.
She stood there like a dew-drenched orchid in the morning.
The students and pedestrians who passed by all looked over.
"How is it?" Xu Jingxin asked nervously.
Ye Feng stared at her for a long time before he slowly said, "The goddess Chang’e in the imagination of the ancient people should be nothing more than this."
Xu Jingxin blushed.
She lowered her head, her fingers unconsciously caressing the fabric of the qipao. "Thank you... I like it very much."
"As long as you like it." Ye Feng put out his cigarette. "Now, can you do me a favor?"
"Tell me." Xu Jingxin looked up with a smile in her eyes. "I knew you weren’t that kind."
Ye Feng took out "Wang Wengong’s Collected Works," from the car, which was wrapped in a plastic bag.
"I picked up a book and wanted to sell it." He said, "Do you know any collectors who like Wang Anshi?"
Xu Jingxin took the book and looked at the cover. Her eyes widened.
"Wang Wengong’s Collected Works?" She looked at Ye Feng in disbelief. "This book... Where did you get it?"
"It’s a long story." Ye Feng briefly explained what happened in the village.
Xu Jingxin was even more surprised when she heard that.
"Your luck is too good..." She muttered, "You managed to dig out such a unique copy from the trash..."
"So, do you have a connection?" Ye Feng asked.
Xu Jingxin thought for a moment and nodded. "I do. The vice president of Shanzhong University, Professor Lin Wanrong. She is an expert in the study of Song Dynasty literature and really likes Wang Anshi. She has collected many ancient books related to Wang Anshi."
"Can you contact her?"
"I can." Xu Jingxin said, "Professor Lin is my friend. We often drink tea and talk about literature together. She’s a very good person and has done a lot of research on ancient books."
"Then please contact her and ask if she’s interested."
Xu Jingxin took out her phone and dialed a number.
The call was quickly connected. After she briefly explained the situation, the other party was very interested and asked them to go to her house to discuss it in detail.
After hanging up the phone, Xu Jingxin looked at Ye Feng. "Professor Lin is at home. Shall we go over now?"
"Let’s go."
The two of them got into the car and drove to the residential area for Shanzhong University staffers, using the address given to Xu Jingxin.
Ten minutes later, the car stopped outside an old building for faculty housing.
As soon as the two of them got out of the car, they saw a middle-aged woman in simple clothes with a refined aura. She came out of the building to welcome them.
"Jingxin!" Lin Wanrong greeted them with a smile, her gaze landing on Ye Feng. "This is Mr. Ye, right? I heard from Jingxin that you picked up a ’Wang Wengong’s Collected Works’?"
"Hello, Professor Lin." Ye Feng nodded. "The book is in the car, I will bring it out."
He turned around to get the book while Lin Wanrong pulled Xu Jingxin aside to talk.
"Jingxin, your qipao looks really good. Is it new?"
"Yes, a friend gave it to me." Xu Jingxin looked at Ye Feng, her face turned red again.
Ye Feng walked over with the book. Lin Wanrong’s attention was immediately piqued.
"Quick, let’s talk inside." She warmly greeted the two of them.
The three of them were about to go upstairs when-
"Mom!"
A crisp female voice came from behind.
Ye Feng turned around and saw a young woman in her twenties running over. The woman was dressed fashionably and had carefully applied makeup. She was holding an exquisite wooden box in her hand.
Behind her was a man in his forties in gold-rimmed glasses; he looked refined.
"Xiaosi?" Lin Wanrong was a little surprised. "Didn’t you say that you were going out to spend time with your classmates today? Why are you back?"
"Mom, I brought you something good!" The girl, Lin Xiaosi, raised the wooden box in her hand excitedly. "Guess what it is?"
"What is it?" Lin Wanrong asked with a smile.
"Your favorite!" Lin Xiaosi opened the wooden box and took out a book wrapped in silk. "Look! Wang Wengong’s Collected Works! I asked a lot of people and spent a lot of effort to find it!"
