Edward pursued a fleeting glimpse of a woman with red hair, convinced it was someone from his past, but the sighting proved elusive. Distraught and confused, he returned to his hotel, his employees noticing his distress. The next day, Edward and Viktor began their surveillance of Jinn Yang, suspecting his presence in Shanghai was more than just a vacation, especially given his recent activities and association with Tai Pin.

Edward hummed, gazing out the window at the leisurely moving traffic as Viktor guided them toward their stakeout location. While men were already on the ground monitoring Jinn Yang and his dealings, Edward felt it imperative to have his own eyes on the duo. He pondered the nature of the bond between Jinn and the Pins, how they'd met, and more importantly, why. The information he'd received indicated the Pins weren't involved in the community's affairs, while Jinn was a prominent figure. Edward couldn't fathom the reason for their association. The drive to the resort felt interminable. Edward found himself repeatedly checking his watch and the road ahead, his knee tapping a restless rhythm.

"We'll be there in just a few minutes, sir," Viktor offered, noticing his boss's unusual fidgeting. Edward glanced at Viktor, catching the bodyguard's gaze on his hand. He stilled the tapping and returned his attention to the passing scenery. "No rush," he declared with a faint wave. "Take your time. We're on vacation, after all." Viktor chuckled, a slight shake of his head accompanying the sound, yet he proceeded with the drive, maintaining a balance between speed and caution, aiming to reach Jinn Yang promptly while adhering to traffic laws and the speed limit. The journey continued in a comfortable silence. As they neared the resort, mere minutes away, Edward's tapping resumed. He leaned forward, an almost palpable eagerness radiating from him, as if he might leap from the window by the time they reached the security checkpoint.

"Welcome to Han Bar and Resort," the guard greeted them after a cursory check for weapons. He presented a tally card, which Edward snatched with such haste that the guard almost withdrew his welcome. The guard regarded Edward with a discerning look before raising the barrier. "They're currently at the mall, so we'll head there first." Edward readily agreed. They drove to the resort's mall, a single-story structure characterized by its floor-to-ceiling windows, offering an unobstructed view of the interior. This architectural feature proved advantageous for their surveillance, allowing them to survey the surroundings with an eagle's eye from a strategically parked car.

"We should get something to eat," Edward suggested once they'd parked. Viktor scanned their vicinity. "There's a food stand just ahead. What would you like?" "Anything that makes this more interesting," Edward replied. Viktor smiled and nodded, taking the debit card Edward extended before leaving the car to procure their food. Left alone, Edward donned his sunglasses and observed the vacationers milling about the mall. The overwhelming majority were women. He watched with mild curiosity as women, each with their own agenda, browsed the shops. The few men present trailed behind, presumably acting as escorts and, judging by their expressions, financiers for their companions' purchases. While Edward felt a pang of sympathy, he couldn't suppress a sense of amusement.

He hadn't yet spotted their target, but they were certain the couple was somewhere within the mall. Edward continued his search, scrutinizing faces intently. It was then that he saw her... again. Edward's posture immediately corrected, his breath catching in his throat. This time, in the daylight and without the layers of clothing she'd worn yesterday to conceal herself, he saw her clearly. Without a doubt, it was her. The woman he'd searched for, for months; the one who had haunted his thoughts before she became his lover; the one he'd refused to believe was gone. A torrent of emotions overwhelmed him as he watched her.

She stood amidst a line of women at a counter handling baby items, allowing Edward to see only her face, still as beautiful as ever. Her usually rosy complexion appeared slightly less vibrant, but it was undeniably the same Amy. Edward struggled to process the sight. The shock intensified when the line shifted, revealing Amy's distinct baby bump. "What in the...?" His jaw dropped, and a surge of anger began to rise as he grappled for an explanation for her pregnancy.

"Is that why you stayed away then? Because you're carrying another man's child?" He inquired, though his question was directed at no one specifically. The profound gravity in his voice suggested that if the intended recipient were present, they would undoubtedly hear him.

"Or did you vanish because you desired to rendezvous with your clandestine paramour and now you find yourself with child by him?"

With every passing moment he observed Amy through the car's glass, Edward's fury escalated, reaching a point where he could no longer contain it.

He flung open his car doors and charged into the mall, a desperate hope fueling him that he might locate the specific shop within the bustling concourse.

After several attempts, Edward eventually located the baby boutique Amy had disappeared into. Before she could make another escape, he propelled her into a room within the store, marked by a sign indicating it was designated for storage.

Amy desperately fought against the grasp of the individual who had accosted her. She had not yet recognized her assailant until he released her arm, finally unveiling his face to her view.
