Flash Marriage: The Domineering Wife Chapter 2 The night is still young

At the uppermost level of Yan Corporation, Yan Mei observed the apprehensive executives before her and casually retrieved a document from her desk.
The conference room was eerily silent, akin to a graveyard. Before Yan Mei sat several trembling executives from the Yan Group.
These executives, possessing an average net worth of ten million USD, dared not utter a sound. Their CEO, widely regarded as a reincarnated devil, commanded their absolute attention.
Yan Mei held the sales report from the previous month. Her indifferent gaze swept over the executives.
She perused the document with a languid air, her expression unreadable. Whether she was pleased or displeased with the report remained a mystery. Any misstep could result in their dismissal, prompting extreme caution in their work. Despite their boss's cold and intimidating demeanor, she provided generous bonuses and treated her employees exceptionally well.
"Why haven't we finalized the deal with Green Corporation yet?" Yan Mei inquired, setting the file down.
"Well..." The executives exchanged embarrassed glances, reluctant to speak.
"What is it?" she pressed, her tone laced with impatience.
"It appears several other companies are vying for the deal, making them hesitant to award it to us," one of them finally admitted.
Yan Mei's eyes flashed with anger. "So, you're telling me that the special team, whom we compensate at triple the rate of ordinary workers, cannot secure a simple deal? When did my company start hiring such incompetent individuals?"
"President Yan..."
"Dismiss the special team immediately. Assemble a capable group to ensure this deal is secured. Manager Lu, you will now oversee this transaction. I trust you will not let me down."
Without awaiting a response, she exited the conference room. The executives released a collective sigh of relief, her formidable presence overwhelming them. 'How could a woman be so intimidating?' they mused.
Several managers regarded Manager Lu with bewildered expressions, uncertain whether to congratulate him. Being assigned a task by the 'iron lady' was more challenging than any military operation, yet successful completion guaranteed substantial rewards—a primary reason Yan Mei's staff remained loyal and never considered betrayal over the years.
They understood the immense difficulty a woman faced in establishing her own company within three years. It suggested either a powerful backing or exceptional talent. This dual admiration and fear were the foundations of their devotion to Yan Mei. Manager Lu let out a sigh.
The moment Yan Mei stepped into her office, a striking woman followed close behind. This woman was Su Bei, Yan Mei's secretary and her sole confidante in City S.
"Someone seems to be in a foul mood."
Yan Mei simply rolled her eyes at Su Bei's remark.
"What's next on my agenda?" Yan Mei asked, ignoring the playful jab.
"Well, you have a date scheduled with Fang Yan this evening at the Imperial Hotel," Su Bei reported, observing her friend intently.
Despite their close relationship, Su Bei maintained professional boundaries, never exploiting her connection with Yan Mei at work. Yan Mei valued this discretion.
"Fang Yang?" Yan Mei inquired, her brow furrowed. Fang Yang, the young master of the Fang family, had been persistently asking Yan Mei out for weeks. In a moment of exasperation, she had agreed to meet him, knowing he wouldn't leave her in peace otherwise. Furthermore, he had consistently shown her respect, even when ignored. Thus, she decided to give him a chance, hoping he wouldn't falter and make her regret her decision.
"Alright, is there anything else?" Yan Mei asked, turning back to face Su Bei.
"Yes. There are a few documents requiring your signature," Su Bei replied, placing a stack of folders on Yan Mei's desk.
"I thought you said 'a few'," Yan Mei commented with evident distaste. Su Bei chuckled at Yan Mei's pouting expression. While most perceived Yan Mei as an indifferent individual with a perpetual poker face, Su Bei knew her friend possessed a surprisingly childish side. She often wondered about the hardships that had forged Yan Mei into such an aloof person.
"Think of it this way: after a demanding day, you get to go on a date. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time," Su Bei said with a laugh.
Yan Mei shot her a glare. "You seem to have an abundance of free time. Perhaps I should assign you more work," Yan Mei stated coolly. Su Bei flinched as she noticed the mischievous glint in Yan Mei's eyes.
"Madam, I just remembered! I have some urgent phone calls to make. If you'll excuse me, I must take my leave now," Su Bei exclaimed before quickly exiting the office. Yan Mei smirked as she watched her secretary make a hasty retreat. Setting everything else aside, she immersed herself in her work.
- IMPERIAL HOTEL -
By 7 pm, Yan Mei, after a quick stretch of her neck, exited her car and headed towards the hotel. She couldn't quite fathom why Fang Yan had chosen a hotel for their meeting. However, considering his notorious reputation, she mused that a hotel, with its security, would offer a measure of protection for its patrons.
The mere thought of being photographed with Fang Yan by the paparazzi sent a shiver down her spine. It was the absolute last thing she desired.
Swiftly as she entered the hotel lobby, a waiter was already there, seemingly anticipating her arrival.
"Miss Yan?" the waiter inquired with practiced politeness. Yan Mei offered a slight nod in confirmation.
"Mr. Fang is awaiting you. This way, please."
Yan Mei followed the waiter through the establishment. Upon reaching the designated private room, Fang Yan was indeed present. A smile bloomed on his face as he spotted Yan Mei, and he immediately strode towards her.
Noticing his approach, Yan Mei instinctively took a step back, evading his outstretched hand. Her movements were sharp and precise, deftly sidestepping his grasp.
A flicker of annoyance crossed Fang Yan's features, but he suppressed it, recalling Yan Mei's significant background. He remained silent, a smirk playing on his lips as he anticipated the unfolding of his plan for the evening. The night was still young, after all.
"Miss Yan, please have a seat," Fang Yan said smoothly, his tone as if nothing untoward had occurred.
As soon as they were seated, a waiter appeared to serve them. Yan Mei's eyes narrowed slightly as she observed the glass of wine placed before her.
"I do not consume alcohol," Yan Mei stated with a crisp, cold tone.
Fang Yan listened to her declaration impassively. He harbored no illusions that Yan Mei would willingly drink with him. Fortunately, his meticulous planning had accounted for this very possibility.
"Then, what would you prefer to drink? Perhaps some fruit juice?"
"No, a simple glass of water will suffice."
Unseen by Yan Mei, Fang Yan gave a subtle wink to the waiter.
"Kindly bring Miss Yan a glass of water," Fang Yan instructed the waiter standing nearby.
