Farmboy becomes King with the Lust System Chapter 4: Kissing Clara

Jae exerted all his strength, wishing his Speed attribute was higher than 13.

After a desperate sprint, he found himself trapped—a dead end loomed before him.

He instantly pivoted, attempting to flee in another direction, but fate had intervened. The spider was already blocking his path.

With no other recourse, Jae resolved to confront the arachnid foe.

He recalled his dying plea for a second chance, his vow to shed his uselessness. Now, with his wish granted, he was still running... like the weakling he once was.

To run and not fight was a squandered opportunity, a betrayal of this second life.

He consulted his system, searching for any helpful items, but his inventory was empty. Then, the skill he possessed, Mana Blade, came to mind.

He could employ it as a weapon, yet he was unsure how to activate it. Fortunately, the mere thought caused the skill to manifest, forming a luminous blade in his grasp.

"Alright... Bring it on, you monstrous spider," he grunted, clamping down on the blade until his knuckles turned bone-white.

The spider, previously eager to attack, now faltered at the sight of the pulsing blade in Jae's hand. It stalked forward cautiously, assessing the optimal moment to strike.

Following a tense standoff, it lunged.

Jae anticipated the assault, swiftly evading the attack and narrowly escaping a swipe from one of its spindly, hairy legs.

The spider resumed its pursuit. Jae quickly devised a strategy; this creature was far swifter and more formidable than him, and his sword skills were rudimentary at best. Efficiency was paramount.

As the spider moved to attack once more, Jae sidestepped and unleashed a full-force swing of his blade at one of its limbs.

With a gruesome slicing sound, the blade severed the leg cleanly.

The spider shrieked in agony and charged him again.

Jae waited, then executed another deliberate swing.

Squish. Another leg fell away. Swish. Squish. Two more limbs were dispatched.

The spider began to falter, its equilibrium compromised.

Jae determined it was time to conclude the battle.

He leaped with all his might, bringing the blade down in a devastating arc directly onto the spider's head.

A piercing screech echoed through the cave before the spider crumpled to the ground, utterly vanquished.

The system notification chimed:

Jae collapsed onto the floor, gasping for breath.

A low rumbling sound announced the reopening of the cave’s entrance.

Jae reflected on the events. The system, in its infinite wisdom, had placed him in a life-threatening encounter because he had failed to question its purpose, explore its potential, or proactively utilize his abilities.

It appeared the system intended for him to mature, to gain strength, for a specific reason. It would invariably compel him into situations that fostered his growth.

This development, however, was beneficial.

Jae yearned for power. He desired it so that if his loved ones ever faced danger again... he would be prepared to shield them.

As he rose and exited the cave, his thoughts turned to the system's initial mission: the one involving kissing Clara.

Could he truly advance his cultivation through such an act?

After all, it was the Lust System; it stood to reason that power could be gained through carnal pursuits.

The following afternoon, Jae reclined in the cool shade of a tree when Clara appeared on the distant horizon.

Today, she was adorned in a flowing, cream-colored gown. Despite its loose cut, her ample cleavage was unmistakably apparent.

Fortunately, he had shed his unsightly brown shirt for a darker, cleaner alternative today.

Clara approached his resting spot and settled beside him.

"It's so terribly hot," she lamented. "I wish I could just dive into a pool."

After Jae ended the kiss, she playfully tapped his head.

Jae initially thought he’d be in trouble for initiating the kiss, but she offered a smile, revealing perfectly aligned teeth, and inquired, "Well now, why did you wait so long to kiss me? You know how much I adore it. You do enjoy making me wait, don't you?"

Jae's jaw dropped for the second time since meeting her.

She had actually desired his kiss all along?

At that precise moment, a rush of memories flooded his mind, and Jae understood that Clara was far more than just a neighbor to him.

She was his confidante, and undoubtedly more than that… because they had shared many kisses.

And numerous embraces.

Even embraces intertwined with kisses…

While completely bare…

Jae blinked rapidly, forcing the image from his thoughts.

A smile spread across his face, and he responded with a teasing smirk,

"You know I love it when you plead for it."

Clara let out a scoff, gathering the vial and cloth as she prepared to depart.

Jae reached out, gently taking her hand.

"Don't leave," he whispered. "I want you to stay."

Clara emitted a soft chuckle.

"I'm just going to return the vial, Jae. I'll be back shortly."

A flush of embarrassment crept onto Jae's face, and he nodded, releasing her hand.

Clara turned to go, then paused, glancing back over her shoulder with a roguish grin.

"And when I return... we're going to your room," she stated, giving him a wink.

The embarrassment Jae felt evaporated, replaced by a surge of both surprise and pure delight.

That stunning girl… desired to be in his private space.
