Evolving infinitely from ground zero Chapter 568 323, Five Elements Unification! The Water God is the true mastermind behind the scenes! _2

With the Water God now firmly in His clutches, Shen Qinghan was no longer of any use to Him; the time for His escape had arrived.

Once He had established total dominance over Lin Zichen and Qi Qingmo,

the Wood God turned His attention back to the Water God standing before Him, His tone laced with a sense of pity:

"In truth, you were the most ideal Cauldron for my purposes. Unfortunately, your sacrifice is a necessity for me to complete the Great Unification of the Five Elements and ascend to a superior Biological Level."

Following this remark, He continued with a smug air, "You spent your time conspiring against the Metal God, the Fire God, and the Earth God, and in the end, you even dared to scheme against me."

"Did it ever cross your mind that you would eventually fall into my power?"

As these words left His lips, the Wood God scrutinized the Water God’s features, searching for any sign of desperation or resentment.

Yet, the Water God’s expression remained as still as a frozen pond, devoid of any emotional turbulence.

The Wood God felt a flicker of letdown at the lack of resistance in the Water God’s eyes.

However, this disappointment vanished instantly, replaced by a frantic greed.

"Enough. Since you choose silence, you shall simply become a part of me!"

With that declaration, the Wood God released a magnificent surge of spiritual power. This energy manifested as glowing threads that bound the ethereal Water God tightly before dragging her into His Sea of Consciousness.

His goal was to assimilate her within His own mind, merging fully with the Water Origin she possessed to finally achieve the Five Elements Unification He had craved for so long.

As the fusion commenced, He could feel the distinct properties of the Water Element—its silkiness, its cool touch, and its profound stillness.

The sensations provided by the Water Origin were so exquisite that He felt a wave of pure euphoria wash over Him.

As the integration of the Water Origin progressed,

the Wood God slowly began to perceive the Water Element present throughout the entire world.

By the time the merger reached the halfway point, He realized that a single thought allowed Him to command all the Water Elements within His range, shaping them into any form He could imagine.

Wait...

What is this feeling?

Why does it seem like my own origin is being slowly consumed?

Is this merely a hallucination?

Midway through the synchronization, the Wood God suddenly sensed a terrifying anomaly.

When He had previously absorbed the Metal, Fire, and Earth Origins within the abyss, the sensation of devouring others had been unmistakable.

But now, while merging with the Water Origin, it felt as though His own Wood Origin was being steadily swallowed by the Water Origin instead. This realization filled Him with a sudden, chilling dread.

Just as the Wood God’s anxiety peaked,

a familiar, icy voice resonated from the deepest reaches of His Sea of Consciousness: "Your senses are correct. I am indeed the one devouring your origin."

It was the Water God!

Upon hearing that unmistakable cold tone, the Wood God’s face drained of color, His eyes widening with sheer terror.

He could not comprehend how the Water God still lived, let alone how she had maintained her consciousness.

Then, the Water God’s voice echoed once more from within His mind: "A truly skilled hunter often disguises themselves as the prey."

"From the very start, you have been nothing more than a pawn in my game."

"Using my own physical form, I could never have completed the Unification of the Five Elements; it lacked the strength to survive the backlash of merging the Five Elements Origins."

"However, you possess the Attribute of Everlasting. Your body can withstand the violent forces of the Five Elements merger... and that is why I require your shell."

As the Water God finished speaking, a titanic explosion of spiritual power erupted within the Wood God’s Sea of Consciousness, rapidly tainting and overtaking His mental domain.

"Ah... Ah... Ahhh!!!"

The Wood God felt His grip on His own body slipping away. A wave of agony so intense it defied description tore through Him, forcing out a series of horrific, gut-wrenching screams.

Simultaneously, the vines that had dominated the area began to shrivel and break apart, dissolving into a storm of wooden splinters that rained down from the sky.

This collapse allowed Lin Zichen and Qi Qingmo to finally break free.

The moment he was loose, Lin Zichen turned his gaze toward the screaming Wood God, completely baffled by the sudden turn of events.

While imprisoned within the wooden cocoon, his senses had been totally cut off, leaving him blind to the world outside.

He had no idea what had transpired during his captivity.

Qi Qingmo was equally bewildered.

While the two stood there in confusion—

The Wood God, suppressing His screams of pain, sacrificed His very origin to unleash a massive burst of spiritual power. He was desperately fighting to reclaim His body from the Water God’s grasp.

Through this suicidal gamble of self-destruction, He managed to seize back a portion of His physical control and began to gain the upper hand.

"Water God!"

"You may have planned for everything, but did you forget that your power cannot compare to mine now that I have unified four elements?"

"In the face of overwhelming power, all your petty tricks are useless!"

"With your pathetic strength, did you truly believe you could use me to reach the Unification of the Five Elements?"

"You are not worthy!"

Having reclaimed the majority of His body, the Wood God roared with fury, letting out all the rage and fear He had been holding back.

Confronted by this outburst, the Water God responded with only two indifferent words: "Is that so?"

The instant she spoke, the control the Wood God had just fought so hard to regain was snatched away by the Water God in a heartbeat.

Then, she unleashed another massive wave of spiritual energy, flooding the Wood God’s Sea of Consciousness entirely and beginning the systematic erasure of His will.

"No!!!"

Feeling His very existence fading into nothingness, the Wood God let out one final, desperate cry of refusal.

In the end, the Water God was seemingly absorbed by the Wood God, sparking immense chaos.

The restraining vines fell away.

Lin Zichen and Qi Qingmo found their freedom.

The Wood God, horrified to realize He was merely a tool for the Water God, roared in denial.

Eavesdropping on the mental exchange, Lin Zichen and Qi Qingmo were stunned; the Water God was the true mastermind behind everything!

The Wood God reached the Unification of the Five Elements.

With this unification, both the Earth and the Origin Land began to tear themselves apart.

Giant waves surged.

Volcanoes erupted.

The world was ending.

The requirement for "Survival of the Adaptable" was met in an instant.

Just as the Wood God prepared to rain destruction upon the world, the Water God executed a Soul Possession to take full control.

As it turns out.

The Water God had allowed herself to be caught and subjected to Soul Search on purpose.

Lacking a physical form and unable to unify the elements alone, she had been manipulating the Wood God the entire time.

The Water God was the true villain!

...

The ultimate boss!

While the merger continued, the Water God remained suspended in the air.

The world around them continued its violent collapse.

Lin Zichen and Shen Qinghan launched attacks at the Water God, attempting to stop the Unification of the Five Elements, but their efforts were futile.

Seeing the world fall into ruin and fearing for their parents, they decided to retreat and save them first.

(They also recalled the massive Source Crystals within their parents' Sea of Consciousness. Devouring them would likely trigger an Evolution without harming their parents.)

After consuming the Source Crystals from their parents, their Biological Level skyrocketed to the Great Perfection of the Ninth Order Mythical Level.

Now, they were no longer weaker than the Water God who had achieved the Five Elements Unification.

At that moment, they sensed the Abyss. (Setting the stage for the protagonists' eventual mechanical ascension to godhood later.)

To be honest, the core story of this book concluded when the leads reached adulthood.

Writing the chapters that followed was a struggle for me, and my work became somewhat perfunctory. I wasn't using much of my creative energy, just writing whatever came to mind.

Many other authors might have simply dropped the series at that point.

However, no matter how messy my writing becomes, I will see this book through to its proper end. That might be my only saving grace as a writer.

Regarding the plot.

The correct approach for this story shouldn't have been the path of urban high-level warriors, but rather the path of Longevity literature.

Basically, that would mean significantly speeding up the passage of time.

For example, once the leads grew up, the timeline should have jumped forward rapidly.

Within a few hundred thousand words, I could have written about them marrying, raising children, growing old, and seeing generations of descendants flourish.

Meanwhile, I could have depicted various evolutionary prodigies trying to reach the Mythical Level, only to fail and turn to dust as the eras passed.

It is a shame I didn't take the story in that direction.

One last important thing to say.

I truly love the female lead, Shen Qinghan.

I truly love the female lead, Shen Qinghan.

I truly love the female lead, Shen Qinghan.
