Evil Venerable of the Sword Dao Chapter 1540 - 64: Holy Spirit Almsgiving
Previously on Evil Venerable of the Sword Dao...
Could it be that in the wake of every two Origin Element Spaces, such a location exists? Zhou Yan harbored questions and contemplations, yet he was unable to ascertain the truth for the moment.
This Heavenly Pool Thunder Marsh was not the genuine article but bore a resemblance to the ancient Tianhe. Furthermore, this particular space lacked any discernible layers, presenting itself as profoundly primordial. Consequently, within this Tianhe, Zhou Yan perceived no trace of Origin Element. This was an unfamiliar origin to him; he could neither absorb nor cultivate here.
However, within this Tianhe, Zhou Yan observed a Dragon Turtle submerged. It was a Xuanwu Dragon Turtle. This creature dwelled in the deepest reaches of the Tianhe, its form enshrouded by a map that coalesced into a unique spatial domain. This map underwent constant rotation, forming a distinct Eight Diagrams pattern.
"Is that... the River Map Luo Shu?" Zhou Yan gazed at the surrounding space for a moment before immediately recognizing the map. It was indeed the River Map Luo Shu! More astonishingly, upon this map, he could clearly discern the purest Original Holy Spirit Soul Energy.
"Could this place possibly be the Soul Origin?" Zhou Yan mused. "Alas, not only is a part of my Life Soul missing, but even if it were whole, this place is entirely unsuitable for me. I feel neither repulsion nor attraction here; there are no sensations whatsoever."
"It appears that the Land of Original Holy Spirit is immeasurably vast. Some Origins are so far beyond my current comprehension that I lack even the qualification to understand them or forge Dao within them. The methods that proved effective previously now feel like a dead weight, yielding no results here."
"Given the inherent mystery, even with a transformed mindset and form, I cannot grasp the true nature of this place. Enough, it is time to withdraw." Zhou Yan cast one final, lingering glance at the Xuanwu Dragon Turtle, offered a slight bow of respect, and then transformed into a streak of light, departing the area.
Zhou Yan found himself once more within the Primordial Magnetic Pole Light Land of Original Holy Spirit. This particular excursion yielded almost no discernible gains. Yet, Zhou Yan felt no regret.
Meanwhile, it had become apparent that upon reaching the third Holy Spirit Land, there was no further path forward. Zhou Yan opted for an alternative direction, instinctively stepping onward. The Eternal Nine Rules Early Fifth Realm was already a considerable achievement, but Zhou Yan still yearned for further evolution and transformation. He recognized that once he departed this place, any opportunity for improvement would dwindle to virtually nil, as no other location could possibly match this for profound transformation.
With a sigh, Zhou Yan watched as the space before him shifted once more. Upon his entry this time, the very fabric of the space began to ripple. Like surging waves, Zhou Yan was almost torn away the instant he entered, being swept towards the ninth layer of the space.
Deep within this ninth layer, Zhou Yan realized that this land was, in fact, the Tao Element Land. Yes, the very Origin of Tao. The Origin of Enlightenment, too, was a form of Origin, much like an exception being an exception in itself. This ninth layer possessed a river and a tree.
This was the very place that had given rise to Shakyamuni and had once aided Zhou Yan. In the past, Zhou Yan had acquired a Bodhi Seed in such a locale, which had subsequently revitalized the Life Ancient Tree. Now, Zhou Yan had arrived at the Enlightenment River, standing beneath the Enlightenment Tree.
Here, as Zhou Yan stood beneath the tree, faint golden Life Energy Origin flowed from his brow, coalescing into a world of Life Holy Spirit. This time, Zhou Yan did not conjure this world himself; rather, the guardian energy left by Zhou Lingyi and Feng Zishuang from the Ancient Life Clan autonomously assisted him, creating this world with a discernible protective effect, akin to a unique pocket dimension.
Within this nascent world, an endless wellspring of enlightenment energy permeated Zhou Yan's being. Concurrently, Zhou Yan's Sword-shaped King Seal commenced the condensation of its sixth King's Mark – the Tao Origin Mark. Within this mark, Zhou Yan gradually found a sense of inner peace, as the enlightenment energy from the very heavens and earth rushed in like a relentless flood.
The advancement Zhou Yan experienced this time was extraordinarily swift. In less than half a day, his combat power experienced a significant surge, elevating him to the realm of Eternal Nine Rules Fifth Great Perfection. Within this world, Zhou Yan's Eternal Pseudo Saint Spirit finally underwent a fundamental transformation. As Zhou Yan's realm ascended further, breaching into the Early Sixth Layer of Eternal Nine Rules, his Pseudo Saint Spirit finally evolved into a Half-Sacred Spirit.
A Half-Sacred Spirit is also referred to as a Half-step Monarch. Now, Zhou Yan could truly be considered to reside within the realm of a Half-step Monarch. He had genuinely stepped through the threshold of the King Realm, and with an ample supply of Eternal Holy Spirit Energy, completing the final transformation would allow him to become a King. He was merely one step away from Kingship.
Although this final step remained a considerable distance, Zhou Yan had nevertheless overcome the most arduous hurdle. "Finally, finally, the Eternal Spirit has transformed into a Half-Sacred Spirit! This sensation is unimaginably wonderful," he exclaimed.
To Zhou Yan, the Holy Spirit Land now appeared more vibrant and tangible.
Elements previously imperceptible to him were now revealed.
Earlier, beneath the Bodhi Tree, Zhou Yan had been unable to perceive any other Holy Spirits, though he knew they must exist within the Holy Spirit Land.
Yet, after Zhou Yan ascended to the Half-Sacred Spirit state, he observed numerous colorful, bubble-like entities beneath the Bodhi Tree.
And within each of these vibrant bubbles, did a singular world reside?
An Illusory World?
Or perhaps the Three Thousand Great Thousand Worlds?
Zhou Yan pondered aloud.
Inside one particularly large and exquisite bubble, a distinct Holy Spirit Land was visible.
This Holy Spirit Land also possessed a Bodhi Tree and a river known as the Enlightenment River.
Seated beneath that Bodhi Tree was a Supreme Buddha, emanating a boundless halo of Merit Power.
Zhou Yan had never encountered this particular Buddha before.
However, upon this initial sighting, he felt an unshakable certainty that this Buddha must be Shakyamuni.
Intriguingly, within Shakyamuni's unique Holy Spirit Land of that Great Thousand World, the Holy Spirits were no longer solitary but numbered two.
As Zhou Yan observed, the Supreme Buddha became aware of his presence. Yet, the Buddha displayed no concern and did not divert his attention, continuing instead to expound upon an Ancient Dao.
Beside him, an Immortal Phoenix Peacock soared, its form radiating magnificence and an aura of supreme pride.
The Buddha continued to recite various Ancient Scriptures, engaging in a discussion of Dao with the Immortal Phoenix Peacock.
Although this scene unfolded before Zhou Yan, he felt a peculiar mix of comprehension and bewilderment. While many of the words were undeniably clear, and he could recall their individual meanings, when strung together in this discourse, his mind remained utterly blank.
This mental void clearly indicated he was not yet deemed worthy to partake in such discussions of Dao.
Even if Zhou Yan desperately attempted to retain the knowledge, he found himself unable to grasp the core essence of this grand Dao discussion.
Consequently, Zhou Yan reluctantly withdrew his gaze from that extraordinary spectacle.
The Dao discussion, however, persisted, and it was evident that the progress of both the Supreme Buddha and the Immortal Phoenix Peacock was advancing at a speed far exceeding Zhou Yan's comprehension.
"The Buddha aids those with destiny... it appears this saying holds true. Those scriptures, that Supreme Dao – they are not inherently abstruse when examined individually; I can recall and comprehend them. But when combined, my mind goes blank. It seems I lack the affinity for the Buddha Path, which explains why the Soul Suppressing Stele favored Hua Qiudao over me. In this regard, I truly don't possess the same Buddhist connection as Hua Qiudao."
"Furthermore, my current abilities and cultivation realm are not inferior to an average King, are they? Yet, I am unable to even comprehend these teachings. It suggests Shakyamuni and the Immortal Phoenix Peacock possess far greater strength than I initially surmised. Their combat power might even rival that of the Evil Spirit Master."
"It appears my journey ahead is still quite arduous."
Zhou Yan mused to himself, then turned his careful attention back to the other bubble worlds.
This time, as Zhou Yan examined each bubble world, he observed the presence of both a Buddha and an Immortal Phoenix Peacock.
And in those bubbles where this specific scene had not yet manifested, a similar projection began to emerge.
"Is this an offering? The Three Thousand Great Thousand Worlds? Spreading the Dao across the Three Thousand Great Thousand Worlds? What a truly formidable Dao!"
With a newfound clarity, Zhou Yan detected a significant pattern.
This realization caused his heart to tremble even more profoundly, filling him with astonishment.
Nevertheless, Zhou Yan himself had now advanced into the Eternal Nine Rules, Sixth Level, and thus did not linger.
The opportunity presented in this location had been fully grasped; unable to progress further here, he knew he had to relocate.
And who knew how many more such unique spaces existed?
Yet, if he could find at least three, Zhou Yan believed he could ascend to the realm of Nine Rules and attain Nine Great Perfection.
At that juncture, the King Realm would be practically within his grasp.
Once he became a King, many matters would reach a state of resolution.
At the very least, Zhou Yan could now perceive the path forward as significantly less obscured and distant.
After returning to the Original Holy Spirit Land by his established method, Zhou Yan refreshed the duration of his stay, subsequently recalling and consolidating the insights gleaned from his rigorous cultivation journey. Following this period of consolidation, Zhou Yan pressed onward, traversing the Land of Enlightenment and venturing into the subsequent peculiar space.
This new space exuded an immense power and a palpable fury.
The moment Zhou Yan entered, he perceived violent spatial disturbances and an overwhelming Battle Intent Origin that shook the very heavens, instilling a sense of awe within him.
"This is... is this Combat Origin?"
"Could it be that a Holy Spirit Land also possesses combat as an Origin element in this world? Can battle itself be a separate fundamental origin?"
After stepping into this domain, Zhou Yan found himself utterly amazed.
Yet, Zhou Yan rapidly regained his composure and initiated the transformation of his Soul Body, shedding his previous form as an Eternal Half-Sacred Spirit.
Subsequently, Zhou Yan's Half-Sacred Spirit underwent a profound metamorphosis, shifting into an boundless ocean of battle aura. This aura then permeated the very fabric of Heaven and Earth, intertwining with the combat origin elements that flowed throughout existence.
In this transformed state, Zhou Yan embarked on the initial phase of his challenging cultivation journey.
