Following the sound of the heated argument, Leo Ray observed two stout, short figures engaged in a loud dispute—two formidable Dwarves.
Their powerful auras emanated intensely, and palpable pressure surged with their every motion. Both had undoubtedly achieved the Demigod Level, and the armor they sported gleamed with an exceptional radiance, several tiers above that worn by most other powerhouses present—at least representing the apex of Tier 6 fine-quality equipment.
This was unsurprising, as the Dwarf Clan was globally renowned for their unparalleled Forging skills. For millennia, they had produced an endless stream of Master Forgers of the highest caliber. It was widely acknowledged that approximately eighty percent of the world's finest weapons and armor originated from the hands of Dwarf Master Forgers.
For countless powerhouses in the Outer Regions, obtaining a Divine Weapon personally crafted by a Dwarf Master Forger was the ultimate lifelong ambition. However, for Leo Ray, this particular matter posed no significant obstacle.
Leo Ray's gaze lingered on the two quarreling Dwarf powerhouses as he examined them more closely.
Despite both bearing full beards, thick and coarse like steel wire—a classic Dwarven characteristic—distinct differences were apparent in their equipment.
One Dwarf was adorned with a Bullhorn Helmet equipped with a Magic Spotlight, while the other carried a Hook Rope and a Stone Throwing Rope; their armor also bore unique patterns and Emblems.
"Tunnel Dwarves and Mountain Dwarves."
Anna's distinctive voice cut through the air, mingling with a hint of reminiscence as she remarked, "Back in the Silver Moon Era, their attire was virtually identical to this."
"Indeed, a Tunnel furball and a Mountain furball, without a doubt."
Moli's brow furrowed slightly as she interjected. As a member of the Elf Tribe, Moli held little regard for Dwarf powerhouses.
This sentiment was hardly unexpected. Since the Era of Blankness, although the Elves and Dwarves had not engaged in large-scale warfare, covert and overt conflicts between them had been a near-constant affair.
The friction stemmed not only from competition over resources but also because both races were colossal powers residing at the Peak of the Ten Thousand Clans. Their immense pride prevented any mutual respect, yet neither could gain a decisive advantage over the other.
Standing beside Moli, Leo Ray nodded thoughtfully.
Just as the Elf Tribe comprised divisions like Light Elves, Dark Elves, and Forest Elves, the Dwarf Clan also possessed several distinct branches. The two most prominent among these were the Tunnel Dwarves and the Mountain Dwarves.
As their names suggested, Tunnel Dwarves established their cities deep within subterranean geological formations. Their expertise in excavation and prospecting was exceptional, and they placed immense value on Forging, leading to their cities being surrounded by elaborate networks of Mines and Furnace zones. The Immortal Gate he had previously visited was, in fact, an Ancient Relic belonging to the Tunnel Dwarves.
Conversely, the Mountain Dwarves had resided for generations amidst vast, ancient, and perilous mountain ranges. Their settlements were not constructed underground but were ingeniously integrated into the mountainsides.
Mountain Dwarves achieved this by either excavating the mountain's core to carve out expansive living quarters, imposing Fortress clusters, and grand Magic Towers, or by erecting formidable City Walls at crucial mountain passes, effectively merging their cities with the surrounding mountain ranges.
While the Tunnel Dwarves excelled in the creation of Divine weapons, the Mountain Dwarves demonstrated superior skill in Forging Shields and Heavy Armor. Each branch possessed unique strengths.
However, much like the three factions of the Elf Tribe, the Tunnel Dwarves and Mountain Dwarves were not outright enemies but were instead engaged in a perpetual state of rivalry and competition. This was particularly evident in the realm of Forging, where neither would concede the other's superiority, both vying fiercely for the paramount position within the Dwarf Clan.
"Thinking about it, ever since those illusions within the Immortal Gate, this marks my first encounter with actual Dwarf powerhouses."
Leo Ray's eyes narrowed slightly as he shifted his complete attention to the subject of the two Dwarves' dispute.
It transpired that both had set their sights on the same rare Forging Material, known as Silent Star Meteorite Iron, and neither was willing to back down, each determined to secure it exclusively.
"So, it's over a piece of Rare ore… that certainly aligns with these furballs' typical behavior."
Moli, having overheard the reason for their quarrel, arched her Melody Lyon towards Leo Ray and inquired, "If my memory serves me correctly, Your Majesty made mention of this specific type of Rare Resource not long ago. We should still have a respectable quantity in reserve, shouldn't we?"
With that, Moli pursed her lips with a hint of resignation and added, "As much as I dislike being aligned with these fellows, this presents an excellent opportunity to gain their favor!"
"You are correct."
Leo Ray offered a slight nod before leading their group towards the two bickering Dwarf powerhouses.
Moli's recollection was accurate. Not long prior, he had indeed acquired a quantity of Silent Star Meteorite Iron through his abilities. Although the majority had been allocated to his Blacksmiths, he still maintained dozens of pieces in his personal reserve.
Soon, Leo Ray's group found themselves nearing the location of the heated dispute between the two Dwarf powerhouses.
Numerous Independent Powerhouses, who had been observing the scene, immediately parted ways upon noticing Leo Ray's group's apparent intention to intervene, wary of any entanglement.
It was readily apparent to anyone that the two openly arguing Dwarves were not concealing their identities. Each was backed by a contingent of Dwarf powerhouses exuding powerful auras, all clad in uniform equipment. It was evident they were official delegates from either the Tunnel Dwarves or the Mountain Dwarves – individuals far beyond the means of these bystanders to offend.
Those with deeper knowledge of the Dwarf Clan even identified the two combatants, recognizing them as renowned Dwarf Noble powerhouses.
"You subterranean dweller, this ore was claimed by this Duke first. No matter how you whine and cling, this Duke is resolute in acquiring it! With your third-rate Forging Techniques, employing it would be sheer extravagance. Be off with you and go back home to drink your milk!"
