Leo Ray and the other lords arrive at the Broken Wing King's opulent castle for a meeting. They are seated according to their status, with allies of the King in front and others in the back. The Broken Wing King makes a grand entrance and immediately displays the remnants of assassins who attempted to attack him, revealing their dark elf origins and the presence of a Demigod among them.

In the grand and imposing castle hall, the clatter of a metal tray hitting the marble floor echoed loudly, accompanied by an even more jarring sound of retching.

Leo Ray turned his gaze towards the source of the disturbance. It was a young, freckled servant girl from the Winged Race, visibly recoiling from the sight of a bloody and charred assassin fragment presented on the tray. Overcome by shock, she had inadvertently dropped it, leading to the sickening sound.

As the unsettling noises slowly faded, an oppressive silence descended upon the hall. Even the retinue of the Giant Horned King seemed to hold their breath, their eyes cautiously fixed on the impassive Broken Wing King seated at the head of the chamber.

"Why are you all just standing there? Clean this up immediately!"

The Broken Wing King, without even looking at the distressed young maid, commanded the other servants in a cold tone. Heeding his order, the other maids, with trembling legs, rushed to the floor and swiftly cleared the mess, leaving the surface spotless once more.

Only then did the freckled maid who had caused the commotion sink to her knees, her lips quivering as she begged for mercy. "Your Majesty, it was a moment of carelessness, please forgive me!" Her face was deathly pale, her body wracked with tremors, clearly overcome by extreme fear.

"Get up." The Broken Wing King raised his hand slightly, a faint smile touching the corner of his lips. "It is only natural. I witnessed such scenes frequently on the battlefield; there is no need to be concerned."

"Thank you a million times for Your Majesty's leniency!" The young maid’s face brightened with relief, realizing the Broken Wing King didn't intend to punish her severely. Just as she was about to offer further thanks, the Broken Wing King’s emotionless voice cut through the air again. "Take her away and sever all the roots of her wings." Before the pale-faced maid could even react, a contingent of guards from the Broken Wing Clan approached stoically and dragged her away by force.

Leo Ray's brow furrowed slightly at the sight. He knew that within the wing roots lay a critical vulnerability of the Broken Wing Clan, reportedly linked directly to the energy vortex in their abdomen. Thus, the young maid's fate was effectively sealed.

"To grant the condemned a false glimmer of hope, only to cruelly snatch it away as they rejoice in their unexpected reprieve—the Broken Wing King is truly skillful in his methods, even when dealing with an insignificant servant." As Leo Ray was lost in thought, the trembling servant girl was forcibly removed by the guards, vanishing completely from the hall.

Observing this grim spectacle, many of the monarchs present couldn't help but knit their brows, though they dared not show any outward displeasure. Had it been them, a reprimand might be in order, but not a death sentence for a mere servant. Yet, on second thought, the Broken Wing King showed no mercy even to members of his own royal family, let alone a lowly servant.

"Well, that unpleasant interlude is over; let us resume our previous discussion." The Broken Wing King leaned back on his gleaming throne, acting as if nothing out of the ordinary had occurred. His sharp, hawk-like eyes narrowed slightly as he surveyed everyone present, continuing, "As for who exactly commissioned those Broken Ear Hunters, I, the Lonely King, am already well aware."

At this declaration, the Broken Wing King’s gaze intensified, focusing on individuals situated in the middle exterior positions. The killing intent and coldness in his eyes flared, and he added, "If the instigator reveals themselves now, the Lonely King may very well spare their clan; otherwise..." The monarchs present immediately shook their heads, subtly indicating their non-involvement.

Witnessing this exchange, Leo Ray remained outwardly calm, his expression unreadable. He surmised that if the Broken Wing King truly knew the identity of the mastermind, he would have acted already. It was evident that the king was merely bluffing, attempting to gauge the monarchs' reactions and pinpoint his true adversary. Leo Ray was also familiar with the Broken Ear Hunters of the Dark Elves, having encountered them previously in the Human Domain. However, the Broken Ear Dark Elves operating within the Human Domain were merely minor operatives; only those active in the Outer Region posed a true threat.

Ever since the Blank Era commenced, these formidable Broken Ear Dark Elves have been a constant source of disruption, inflicting heavy casualties and considerable distress upon numerous factions. Their prowess was such that they even managed to successfully eliminate targets associated with certain top-tier forces, a testament to their sheer might. More importantly, the Silent Killers from the Dark Elves have proven to be an impenetrable enigma. No one has ever managed to glean any useful intelligence from them, nor has anyone discovered the identity of their mysterious benefactor, even when their missions concluded in failure. This enduring secrecy has been the primary catalyst for the continued existence and operations of these elusive Dark Elf Hunters. Consequently, these Dark Elves have cultivated a widespread reputation for villainy throughout the Outer Region. While it is common knowledge among the various powers that these particular Broken Ear Dark Elves are rogue exiles, completely severed from the official Dark Elf Kingdom, they still find themselves the target of widespread animosity. It is an unfortunate, yet seemingly unavoidable, reality.
