Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong Chapter 2899: 1587: Sudden Mutation
Previously on Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong...
A forceful gust of wind suddenly swept through the area behind the formidable magic-wielding cultivators. The newly manifested Correctors, brimming with intense hostility, surged forward like an unstoppable tide!
“Everyone, keep filling the gaps. I will intercept them!”
Fei'er reacted with lightning speed, her magic staff transforming into a gleaming longsword. She moved to engage the enemy directly, her agile body weaving like a dancing butterfly, imbued with astonishing power despite its delicate appearance.
Contrasting with the robust, towering deerman Correctors, Fei'er, with her petite frame and Flower Fairy heritage, stood as an unyielding bulwark, projecting ethereal illusions to parry every incoming threat.
As one of the rare dual cultivators of both magic and martial arts, and formerly a princess of the Silver Fire Kingdom—a standout prodigy among the ancient Human Tribe—Fei'er had relinquished much of her former power, including numerous forgotten magical and swordsmanship techniques. Nevertheless, her current strength remained far superior to that of ordinary Half-step Tier 7 cultivators.
Despite confronting nearly twenty ferocious Tier 6 Peak Correctors, Fei'er held her ground. She engaged them fiercely, gradually maneuvering them towards the perimeter of the Barrier Area.
There, an unseen spatial barrier separated the Barrier Area from the outer Void Space. This barrier was the most resilient section of the entire defense, impenetrable even if the enemy forces were amplified tenfold. Moreover, this location served as the heart of the Moon Shadow Magic Array. Any damage inflicted upon the spatial barrier would imperil its core, making the Correctors hesitant to attack this vulnerable point, thus alleviating pressure on the defenders.
As Fei'er intercepted the vanguard of newly arrived Correctors, Moli, Kira, and Bruce had just reinforced a breach when another contingent of Correctors materialized around them.
While the might of these subsequent Correctors was somewhat less than the initial wave, they were still considerably powerful, predominantly above Tier 6 Eight Stars. They let out furious roars, directing their aggression towards the trio.
“Argh! These adversaries are like stubborn gum that just won’t let go! I knew following that person wouldn’t be a simple task!”
Sensing the immediate danger, Moli reacted swiftly, frustration evident in her voice. Her magic staff carved mesmerizing grey arcs through the air, conjuring formidable Tier 6 Space Magic Puppets.
The moment Moli summoned the Space Magic Puppets, they drew the attention of the confronting Correctors, and combat erupted instantly between the two sides. In this sudden clash, heavy fists and blustering palm winds met in a chaotic exchange. Though the Correctors possessed superior raw power, the peculiar nature of the Space Magic Puppets—requiring complete bodily destruction to be defeated—created a challenging stalemate, with neither side gaining a decisive advantage.
With the Space Magic Puppets engaged in battle, the burden on Moli, Kira, and Bruce lessened considerably. They turned their attention to managing the other, less formidable puppets.
However, whether it was the swift Kira or the adept flash-users Moli and Bruce, their combat styles demanded ample space to truly shine. Confined to this relatively cramped area, they were like birds trapped in a cage, forced to fight cautiously against opponents in their initial invincible states.
Fortuitously, the Correctors’ attacks were largely single-target and limited in range, easily deflected by the magic shields and energy barriers deployed by Moli and her companions, thus preventing collateral damage to the nearby Space Magic Puppets.
“After all, they are merely transient constructs born from desire; what true invincibility do they possess!”
Moli swiftly sidestepped behind a claw-wielding Corrector, gripping her magic staff with both hands before bringing it down with full force upon the opponent’s head. Initially, Moli had intended to unleash her signature technique, “Space Judgment Blade,” but the restricted space prompted her to use the staff itself as a bludgeon.
Bang!
A dull thud echoed as Moli’s staff connected, striking as if against unyielding granite. The impact sent a jarring pain up her arms.
“I suspected they were invincible; why did I even attempt to strike? Truly, I’m lamenting my own foolishness.”
Wincing from the pain, Moli, a look of resignation on her face, focused on skillfully evading the Corrector’s retaliatory attacks.
Marvellously, Kira and Bruce proved equally capable, cautiously holding back numerous other Correctors and preventing any further breakthroughs.
Yet, within mere moments, the Correctors began to discern the vulnerabilities of the Space Magic Puppets. Their assault patterns widened in scope.
A deerman Corrector, wielding a colossal sword, unleashed a devastating arc of sword light with a sharp “whoosh,” effortlessly shattering a Space Magic Puppet. Observing this, the other Correctors followed suit, launching a barrage of ranged and area-of-effect attacks that descended like an overwhelming deluge.
Witnessing this abrupt shift in the battle’s tide, a chill ran down the spines of Leo Ray and his allies on the other side, as well as Kira, Bruce, and even Moli herself.
