Chapter 2897: Surprise and Bewilderment

“What is going on?!”

As Moli grimaced, other powerful figures immediately detected the sudden, abnormal aura, their faces etched with astonishment.

From the turbulent aura, it was clear the source was the Corrector, located right within their Barrier Area. However, this area was already densely packed with Golem Puppets; how could a Corrector have spawned here?

Unbeknownst to the crowd, mere moments before, the Ear-wing Erosion Eraser, hidden within a spatial rift, had flicked its fingers. This action instantly annihilated a Knight Puppet at the Barrier Area's edge, which was the origin of the disturbance.

Amidst their bewilderment, grave expressions settled upon the faces of the formidable warriors, their hearts beginning to pound with apprehension.

They were well aware that the space was teeming with Lower Tier Golem Puppets, which, to High Tier Correctors, were as fragile as tissue paper. As the saying goes, a single ant's nest can lead to the collapse of a thousand-mile embankment. If even one Corrector managed to breach their defenses, the outcome was predictable: the millions of Golem Puppets would soon be completely annihilated.

At that juncture, the group would inevitably face an unending onslaught of indomitable Correctors, not only rendering all their efforts futile but also trapping them in an inescapable dead end.

Because this entire sequence of events unfolded in the blink of an eye, the realization sent large beads of sweat forming on everyone's foreheads. Rosa, in particular, who was engaged in breaking the core barrier, felt her slender hands tremble uncontrollably.

Despite Leo Ray's relentless application of expensive High Tier Magic to assist Rosa, shattering the Barrier within such a constricted timeframe was still beyond her unique abilities, even among the Deerman.

“Everyone, look up! The situation has not yet reached the point of no return,” Leo Ray's calm and steady voice cut through the rising panic.

Heeding Leo Ray's words, the strong warriors quickly raised their gazes. The emergent Corrector was visible on one of the magic screens.

At the very edge of the Barrier Area, the Corrector was ensnared by several Stone Knights, unable to maneuver, flailing like a headless chicken. This Corrector was none other than Terry, the Clan Leader of the Deerman.

Although the video showed the Corrector screaming frantically and attempting to break past the surrounding Stone Knights, occasionally stumbling over the Golem Puppets at its feet, the Stone Knights maintained their tight formation. Consequently, no other Correctors appeared for the moment.

“That’s good. It seems this individual will only launch attacks against us. The Golem Puppets, lacking true consciousness, are not detected by the Moon Shadow Magic Array and are treated merely as obstacles, thus not being actively targeted,” Moli stated, sighing in relief after her recent distress.

While the circumstances were somewhat unexpected and not as straightforward as initially anticipated, the situation remained manageable for now. As long as the Corrector refrained from attacking, these Lower Tier Golem Puppets would serve as an impenetrable barrier!

“Fortunately, these creatures lack significant intelligence. The slippage of one hardly constitutes a major issue!”

Moli raised her brow slightly, a flicker of bewilderment crossing her fair face. “Speaking of which, a Stone Knight should have been present at that exact spot. How did it suddenly vanish?”

“Now is not the time to deliberate on that. Let us observe the unfolding events,” Leo Ray urged, his brow furrowed, reminding the powerful individuals not to let their guard down.

Moli was correct; even Lower Tier Golem Puppets, when encapsulated within a Magical Scroll, demonstrated remarkable stability and efficacy. Logically, they should not have dissipated before their designated duration concluded.

With this thought, Leo Ray swiftly suppressed his burgeoning doubts, refocusing his attention on the Magic Barrier, his gaze fixed unblinkingly on the Corrector, which was spinning erratically like a trapped insect.

Although Moli maintained an optimistic outlook, Leo Ray, as the Commander, could not afford to lower his vigilance. Given that one Golem Puppet had malfunctioned, further issues could emerge, and this was hardly the moment for complacency.

“This Corrector is more inept than I had anticipated. Unable to attack without a designated target? It’s not fundamentally different from ordinary Golem Puppets or Alchemy Puppets,” the Ear-wing Erosion Eraser mused from within the spatial rift, its trick having yielded no substantial effect.

“Captain, in my assessment, it is not that the Corrector’s intelligence is inherently low, but rather that the Moon Shadow Deer People are incapable of fully activating this Divine Domain Magic. This discrepancy is causing a logical error within the Corrector,” a booming voice interjected.

The blunt, cavernous words of the Bear-man Erosion Eraser caused cold sweat to prickle the foreheads of the other Erosion Erasers nearby. They were acutely aware that their Captain had just been focusing his attention on the Emperor of the Human Race, and this individual's untimely remark was akin to asking for trouble.

The Bear-man Erosion Eraser’s words immediately caused the Ear-wing Erosion Eraser’s delicate expression to falter. She turned towards him, her face sullen, and calmly asked, "What? Are you questioning me?"

"You dare to question me?" The Bear-man Erosion Eraser sneered. "Do you know who I am? I am the Bear-man Erosion Eraser, a distinguished figure in the Northern Territory and the leader of the Bear-man Tribe! You, a mere Ear-wing Erosion Eraser, dare to stand against me?"

"So what if you are the leader of the Bear-man Tribe?" The Ear-wing Erosion Eraser retorted, her voice laced with ice. "My clan has always been impartial. I have no quarrel with your tribe, nor do I wish to step on your territory. Why do you insist on chasing me into a corner?"

"Hmph!" The Bear-man Erosion Eraser let out a cold snort. "You trespass into my territory, and now you claim you have no quarrel with me? How dare you speak such nonsense! Today, you will pay the price for your actions!"

"You are being unreasonable!" The Ear-wing Erosion Eraser’s eyes blazed with anger. "I did not trespass! I was merely passing through. Your territory is vast, and I did not intentionally encroach upon it."

"Enough of your excuses!" the Bear-man Erosion Eraser roared. "Prepare to face my wrath!"

He then charged forward, his massive paws swiping at the Ear-wing Erosion Eraser. The latter nimbly dodged his attacks, her wings allowing her to maneuver with incredible speed. She retaliated with a flurry of sharp kicks, aiming for the Bear-man’s weak points.

The battle raged on, the roars of the Bear-man echoing through the forest, punctuated by the sharp cries of the Ear-wing Erosion Eraser. Neither side was willing to back down, each determined to defend their honor.

Finally, with a mighty roar, the Bear-man Erosion Eraser unleashed a devastating blow that struck the Ear-wing Erosion Eraser, sending her crashing to the ground. She lay there, battered and bruised, but not defeated.

"You are strong," she admitted, her voice weak. "But I will not yield."

The Bear-man Erosion Eraser loomed over her, his eyes filled with a predatory gleam. "You have put up a good fight, but in the end, you are no match for me."

He raised his paw, ready to deliver the final blow. Just then, a figure emerged from the shadows, landing gracefully between the two combatants.

It was the Young Master, his presence exuding an aura of calm authority. "Stop this," he commanded, his voice resonating with power.

The Bear-man Erosion Eraser and the Ear-wing Erosion Eraser froze, their eyes fixed on the newcomer. They had never encountered anyone with such a commanding presence before.

"Who are you?" the Bear-man Erosion Eraser growled, his previous arrogance replaced by a hint of apprehension.

"I am the Young Master of the Heavenly Sword Sect," the figure replied, his gaze sweeping over them. "And I will not allow you to continue this pointless battle."

The Bear-man Erosion Eraser scoffed, though a flicker of uncertainty crossed his face. "The Heavenly Sword Sect? I have never heard of it. You think you can stop me?"

"I can," the Young Master stated simply, his hand resting on the hilt of his sword. "And I will."

With a swift move, he drew his sword, its blade shimmering with an ethereal light. The Bear-man Erosion Eraser and the Ear-wing Erosion Eraser watched in awe as he effortlessly dispatched the Bear-man with a single, precise strike.

The Ear-wing Erosion Eraser, her eyes wide with disbelief, rose to her feet. "You... you saved me!"

The Young Master simply nodded. "It is not honorable to harm the weak."

He then turned his attention to the Ear-wing Erosion Eraser. "You are wise to seek peace. Now, leave this place and do not return."

The Ear-wing Erosion Eraser bowed her head in gratitude. "Thank you, Young Master. I shall not forget your kindness."

She then turned and, with a final glance at the fallen Bear-man, flew away into the distance.

The Young Master sheathed his sword, the ethereal light fading. He looked at the Bear-man, who was now stirring weakly. "You are lucky I spared your life," he said coldly. "Now, leave my sight."

The Bear-man Erosion Eraser, humbled and terrified, scrambled to his feet and fled into the forest, his arrogance completely shattered.

Once they were gone, the Young Master surveyed the area. "This forest is too chaotic. It is time to bring order to this land."

He then turned and walked deeper into the forest, his sword glinting in the dappled sunlight, a determined glint in his eyes. The era of chaos was about to end, and a new era, one of order and peace, was about to begin.
