Teresa recognized Moli's familiar face from an ancient Dark Elf magic painting depicting a Forest Elf priest from over two thousand years ago. Moli reluctantly admitted her identity as a Forest Language Singer, the priest family of the Forest Elves. She explained priests' sacred role in the Silver Moon Era, communing with deities, and how early in the Era of Blankness, elves held joint ceremonies believing greater devotion would restore divine oracles.

Moli gave a shrug before continuing, “During that era, Holy Ceremonies of all sorts took place one after another. The Ten Thousand Clans simply wouldn’t accept that they were the forsaken ones.”

“The collaboration between Forest Language Singers and Dark Elf Priests to conduct those ceremonies arose in that very context. Every clan back then was desperately scheming to reconnect with the Deities; under such conditions, that kind of alliance was hardly shocking.”

“And the end result? Plain as day—it amounted to nothing.”

Teresa nodded firmly in agreement, “Even though ties between Dark Elves and Forest Elves eventually cooled over time, this artwork remained intact.”

“Never thought you’d preserve a piece from those days. The Forest Language Singer depicted there must be my grandmother. For us, though, we lost everything—those raging old fossils took it all. Eventually, ‘Forest Language Singer’ turned into a mere symbolic title, one with even less prestige than yours.”

Moli released a faint sigh and shook her head in resignation. “When it reached my generation, even the family Castle had vanished. I’m truly without a home.”

“How did things turn out so badly? Even without hearing divine oracles, there’s still vital work for someone like me.”

Teresa obviously hadn’t foreseen that another with her Occupation could face such a starkly opposite fate, her expression brimming with confusion.

In the Dark Elf Kingdom, despite her family’s diminished standing compared to its peak, they still held a spot among the noble houses.

“It stems from the [Divine Stone].”

Moli nodded toward Teresa and explained, “You must be aware—the [Divine Stone] delivers Divine Revelation, and gathering more extends those revelations further. Yet this revelation differs vastly from the Silver Moon Era.”

“Your Excellency speaks truly. Back in the Silver Moon Era, Divine Revelation typically offered knowledge gifted by the Deities to the Ten Thousand Clans, showing them paths to thrive.”

Teresa agreed with a nod and elaborated, “But post-Era of Blankness, revelations from [Divine Stone] collection resemble orders or tasks, focused entirely on amassing even more [Divine Stone].”

As a minor figure in her family, Teresa’s grasp of the [Divine Stone] didn’t match Leo Ray’s depth, yet she knew these fundamentals.

“Precisely—that’s the core issue. Those ancient fossils rejected these command-like revelations but couldn’t fault the Deities, so they vented their fury on my kin.”

Moli’s sighs deepened as she went on, “From what I’ve learned, this wasn’t unique to my Forest Elf Kingdom. Other Forest Elf branches faced similar fates.”

Listening to Moli thus far, Leo Ray nodded in contemplation.

Upon reflection, it made perfect sense. As an Otherworldly Lord untouched by the Silver Moon Era, Leo Ray felt no special attachment to the [Divine Stone]’s Divine Revelation. But the Forest Elf Elders Moli described were likely Silver Moon Era veterans; such a disparity could easily spark humiliated outrage.

Indeed, after the Era of Blankness when Deities departed this realm, no new Chosen Sons of God emerged, no divine blessings flowed—only prompting voices issuing fresh Divine Revelations that commanded the Ten Thousand Clans to collect [Divine Stone] and reveal the Era of Blankness’s secrets. The shift from before was staggering.

“The prompting voice’s motives remain a mystery, but clearly, profound reasons drive it.”

Leo Ray refocused and glanced once more at Moli’s downcast visage.

He’d long been intrigued by this girl’s background; the reality proved far more poignant than imagined.

It explained her endless wandering among the Ten Thousand Clans—she lacked even a foothold. Beneath her breezy exterior lurked this tragic history.

“No surprise the Forest Elves ignored her long absence. She’d become utterly expendable.”

With that thought, Leo Ray shifted topics. “Enough dwelling on it for now. Remember, we’re heading to the Dark Half-Elves’ domain soon. While Administrator I finalizes preparations, let’s grab some food first.”

Leo Ray then signaled Rudy Blues and the waiting Chefs to serve up Moli’s beloved desserts.

Though shunned by Forest Elves and rootless, she remained a key ally who’d contributed greatly. Leo Ray wouldn’t allow her any hardship.

“You human kid, you…”

As Rudy Blues and others swiftly presented a feast of her preferred treats, Moli’s eyes welled up. Words failed her momentarily, leaving only soft sniffles.

“Come on, just eat up before your next Teleportation Magic. This isn’t a free buffet.”

Leo Ray merely shrugged without further comment.

“Don’t think sweets will win me over. Remember your promise!”

Moli chomped into a strawberry cream Cake, mumbling complaints past her stuffed cheeks; her eyes glistened even brighter.

Soon, Administrator I’s projection appeared via the Communication Crystal before Leo Ray. “Your Majesty, this servant has linked with Prince Chasing Shadow of the Dark Half-Elves. He consents to the meeting at Shadow Rift Abyss, their capital!”

“Perfect. Well done, Administrator. We depart immediately.”

Leo Ray dipped his head politely, then signaled Elder Bing nearby.

Guided by Lila, Hollis, and Teresa, Leo Ray had already pinpointed Shadow Rift Abyss on the Magic Sandbox.

A surge of blue light swept the Magic Screen around them, instantly transforming the landscape into a canyon aglow with clustered Magic.

From prior briefings, Leo Ray knew well:

Micro-light Canyon, renowned for its night-blooming luminescent Magic Moss, served as the gateway to Shadow Rift Abyss.

“Forward march.”

Leo Ray rallied his top subordinates and strode ahead.

Shortly after exiting the City Gate with his entourage, a dazzling spectacle unfolded.

Far more vibrant than the Magic Screen view, the Magic Moss blanketing ground and Cliffs shimmered under cascading moonlight, blending into a vista evoking a starry expanse or walls of iridescent glass.

The party hadn’t advanced much when they froze in place. Abruptly, myriad black figures materialized across the canyon, infusing the serene ambiance with sharp killing intent.

“Are you the Human Majesty’s group?”

A raspy, resolute voice echoed. The foremost shadow commander emerged from obscurity, fixing his gaze on Leo Ray up front.

“That’s us. Arriving so late, we apologize for the intrusion.”

Leo Ray nodded courteously in return.

The stranger boasted a robust frame, black Leather Armor straining over his pectorals. A face-obscuring black leather mask hid his traits.

Yet his moderately pointed, not overly elongated ears marked him clearly as a Half-Elf.

“Affirmative. The venue awaits. Follow along.”

The lead shadow commander scanned Leo Ray’s team once more before pivoting to guide them.

Instantly, encircling shadow Soldiers melted back into gloom, restoring the canyon’s hush as if undisturbed.

Under the shadow commander’s lead, they raced through the central canyon Passage delving underground. Navigating perilous tunnels and labyrinthine caves, they at last beheld a colossal, wondrous city.
