Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong Chapter 2828: 1550: Advancing Into the Depths and Doubts

Deep inside the Rift Valley, while the team proceeded with utmost caution, the faint sunlight overhead vanished rapidly, supplanted by levitating magical light orbs suspended in the air.
Bathed in the illumination from these magical spheres, Leo Ray surveyed his surroundings and noted that they had thoroughly ventured into an enormous subterranean cavern, evoking memories of Observation City.
Nevertheless, in this place, the “Corrosion” wasn’t required to erupt via magical ley lines, nor did thick magical fog arise from such bursts.
Still, the eerie sensation of descending into an underground realm sent chills through Leo Ray’s group, as the Battle of Observation City remained a grim recollection, save for forging alliances with the old City Lord and his allies.
Lila and her fellow Stone Giants remained on high alert. The disciplined formation featured Stone Giant Heavy Infantry bearing five-meter Giant Shields on the perimeter, flanked inward by Giant Axe Infantry and Giant Sword Infantry, while mages and archers wielding Giant Staffs and Great Bows occupied the innermost positions.
At the heart of this array, thousands of Tier 5 Stone Giant mages meditated cross-legged within the Mobile Magic Tower, murmuring incantations to sustain the Absolute Defense Barrier shielding the entire formation.
“Mountain Mist Dispelling!”
Amid howling gales, the expansive robes of the Stone Giant Anemo Magic Instructors fluttered wildly as they directed their Giant Staffs at the magical fog ahead. The thick haze parted to either side, instantly revealing the path forward.
“This place truly feels just like Observation City.”
Moli’s big eyes blinked curiously; she teleported intermittently to the upper levels of the Stone Giant’s Mobile Magic Tower for a better view, then zipped back beside Leo Ray, tilting her head and muttering, “Have we somehow ended up back there without realizing?”
A shiver ran through her, making her pink hood tremble faintly, clearly haunted by the recent ordeal of being swarmed by Parasites.
“While the surroundings bear some resemblance, the ground in this underground area is far more solid, and no subterranean rivers course nearby.”
Sensitive to earth formations as an Earth Element Grand Mage, Crisis nodded reassuringly at Moli. “Don’t worry, Your Excellency; this isn’t that place at all, so there’s nothing to fear.”
“I-I wasn’t scared at all! I’d take on those ‘Corrosion’ parasites again without hesitation!”
Moli planted her hands on her hips, declaring defiantly, “Even if hordes of Half-step Tier 7 Parasites show up, I won’t back down an inch!”
Right after Moli spoke, a massive quake erupted from ahead.
This abrupt event triggered ceaseless rockfalls from the cavern ceiling, which thudded noisily against the Absolute Defense Barrier overhead.
Furthermore, powerful surges of energy ripped through the chamber, whipping up ferocious winds and churning the fog into turmoil.
Even shielded by the Absolute Defense Barrier, the relentless rending of air proved deeply unnerving for all.
The three Stone Spirits by Leo Ray’s side furrowed their brows at the sight.
Through the chaotic energy winds, they faintly detected a savage, berserk presence—the aura of “Corrosion,” and plenty of it.
“Your Majesty, the magical ley lines are bursting forth once more; how shall we proceed?”
Confronted by the intensifying disturbance, Lila turned instinctively to Leo Ray for guidance.
During her initial expedition here, conditions hadn’t been this dire. Now, with the eruption, vast quantities of “Corrosion” had probably surged in, accompanied by an enigmatic hidden city. This spelled confrontation with two mighty foes.
Suddenly, despite the support of three elite Tier 5 Stone Giant Legions, the Stone Giant Clan Chief felt mounting dread, as “Corrosion” and the unknown city cast an ever-heavier pall.
“Push ahead. If we ignore it, things might spiral further out of control.”
Via his bond with the Stone Spirits, Leo Ray instantly grasped the “Corrosion’s” resurgence and signaled approval to Lila.
Leo Ray fully understood Lila’s apprehensions.
Lacking countermeasures against “Corrosion,” even ten Tier 5 Legions could merely delay its advance, and a single lapse might invite insidious parasitism with catastrophic results.
Yet, having clashed with “Corrosion” repeatedly, they boasted far greater expertise than the Stone Giants.
Besides, if that shadowy city perpetually clashed with the “Corrosion,” it hinted at enmity between them.
Though pitted against dual threats, this opened a window to reveal the mysterious city’s secrets.
Regarding the spewing “Corrosion,” its volume stayed finite while the Magic Barrier held, unlike the boundless tide at Observation City.
“As you command, Your Majesty of the Humans!”
Witnessing Leo Ray’s firm resolve, Lila’s spirits soared with renewed assurance, and she pressed on at the forefront.
Escorted by three Stone Giant Legions, the party traversed the underground expanse—now broadening, now constricting—until the route ahead yawned open once more.
