Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong Chapter 2789: 1530: Showdown at the Banquet (Part 1)

Once Leo Ray stepped into the Banquet Hall, his entourage of powerhouses ceased focusing on Administrator I and began trailing right behind him.
The lively atmosphere in the Banquet Hall fell silent the moment Leo Ray and his companions appeared. Both Half-Titans and Stone Giants gripped their wine goblets high, shooting over sneers filled with scorn and derision.
These colossal beings were eager to watch how these puny figures would navigate the embarrassing predicament of lacking proper seating and dining ware.
“Looks like our honored visitors have finally shown up, yet we didn’t bother stepping out to greet you.”
From in front of the Stone Giants’ table emerged a burly middle-aged commander in gleaming silver armor. His rugged, bearded gray face twisted in mockery.
With Leo Ray facing away from the Banquet Hall during his chat with the administrator, the giants within had no clue about the earlier incident at the entrance.
Yet, it was obvious that the dense beard on this middle-aged Stone Giant commander still bore remnants of meat bits and wine drips. Though his greeting sounded polite, the mocking edge in his voice and his unkempt look screamed utter disregard for Leo Ray’s group.
Moreover, the overwhelming presence radiating from his massive frame surpassed all nearby giants, warping the very air around him with each heavy inhale.
“Your Majesty of the Humans, that fellow is Payton, Second Elder of the Stone Giants, boasting a tricky half-step Tier 7 strength.”
Sina creased her forehead deeply while briefing Leo Ray: “Rumors say he possesses tremendous power, strong enough to hoist an entire mountain.”
“He certainly comes off as a savage thug,”
Leo Ray gave a subtle nod, brushing off the Stone Giant elder as he scanned the Banquet Hall’s interior.
His goal in coming here was to converse with the chiefs of the two clans on site, and while this elder ranked high among the Stone Giants, he meant little to Leo Ray.
“Sorry about that, since you noble guests showed up so tardily, we’ve started the feast already. Remember, in this place, the mighty never wait on the weak.”
Payton kept up his arrogant posture, his thunderous voice echoing: “Haha, surely our esteemed guests won’t hold it against us, right?”
“Every giant here sits at Tier 6. Apart from this Stone Giant Second Elder, a half-step Tier 7 lurks among the Half-Titans too, though neither leads their tribe. It appears the true authorities haven’t arrived yet.”
Instead of reacting to the anticipated provocation, Leo Ray swiftly grasped the dynamics unfolding in the Banquet Hall.
“So this is the famous Human Emperor? Now that all are present, kindly take your places without delay.”
Noticing Leo Ray hadn’t spared him a look, Payton’s sense of humiliation grew, prompting a deeper growl, followed by a mocking recollection: “Oh yeah, we overlooked setting up fitting tables and cutlery for you lot. Our welcome fell short; do pardon us.”
Finishing his jab, Payton chomped into the enormous steak clutched in his fist and erupted in guffaws.
The instant Payton’s remark landed, laughter exploded not just from the nearby Stone Giants but also from the Half-Titans at the adjacent table, roaring in unison.
In that instant, the booming mirth from hundreds of gigantic warriors whipped up fierce winds across the Banquet Hall, making the massive overhead lights sway and flicker erratically.
Plenty of these giant warriors joyfully crammed their faces with roasted meats, flaunting their indulgence blatantly.
Witnessing this spectacle, Leo Ray’s followers knitted their brows anew, trapped in discomfort whether to stand or sit, hovering in uneasy hesitation.
“Administrator, who knew the feast’s dishes would taste this awful.”
Leo Ray shot a look at Payton before turning to Administrator I with a light tone: “Surely you didn’t dish out fodder intended for Demon Beasts, did you?”
Leo Ray’s quip instantly sparked chuckles among his previously grim-faced allies, who now hurled disdainful stares across the room, freed from their dilemma.
Loris chimed in particularly, declaring, “Even dogs wouldn’t touch it,” leaving the foes’ faces flushing pale and ashen, with numerous giants instinctively ejecting the roasted meat from their jaws.
“Haha, Your Majesty of the Humans, that’s quite the overstatement. The Outer Region spans endlessly, and naturally, tastes differ across the Ten Thousand Clans.”
Administrator I responded with continued courtesy, rushing to smooth things over: “If not, allow me to arrange…”
Before Administrator I could complete his thought, Payton hurled his roasted meat away and snapped icily at Leo Ray: “Your Majesty of the Humans, what’s the intent behind those words? Do you mean to insult us?”
“Absolutely, such remarks demand addressing.”
From the Half-Titan side, a sturdy middle-aged powerhouse in golden armor advanced, his brow furrowed: “I request Your Majesty of the Humans explain himself. Else, things might turn ugly…”
Though the golden-armored Half-Titan trailed off, his threat hung heavy. He was precisely the additional half-step Tier 7 powerhouse Leo Ray had spotted moments ago.
“Your Majesty of the Humans, this one is Prince Mad Axe Rax of the Half-Titans, his might eclipses fools like Bisos by miles!”
Loris automatically positioned himself behind Leo Ray, murmuring softly: “Legend has it he once took on a pack of Green Dragons alone.”
“He appears sharper than the typical Half-Titan.”
