Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong Chapter 2785: 1527: The Banquet Begins (Part 2)
Furthermore, the Broken Valley Alliance had previously reached the peak among third-class powers, and it continues to evoke dread in enemies, particularly when they're uncertain regarding Old Gary’s capabilities.
“It’s no surprise that a fresh city has emerged amid the ruins of the lich’s massive city; evidently, the experts from the Broken Valley Alliance have made their comeback.”
Administrator I examined Old Gary and his companions closely, pretending to be astonished: “However, based on the most recent reports I’ve obtained, there appear to be lingering undead stragglers in the vicinity. Has the former leader overlooked them?”
Without doubt, Administrator I meant Old Gary and his allies with that remark.
The intent behind the probe was obviously to draw out details from Old Gary, worried that they might have connected him to the “undead stragglers.” Indeed, Old Gary and his team had vanished for quite some time, so their abrupt return struck as suspicious.
“We’ve already wiped out every last one of those stragglers.”
Old Gary kept his face serene, replying coolly: “Without question, Your Excellency the Administrator is aware of our unbridgeable grudge against them.”
Naturally, Old Gary’s response stemmed from discussions with Leo Ray.
Both recognized that the Administrator and the Market Guard were confined to the Shadow Market. Whatever they observed would be from afar, leaving them in the dark about the details.
After his words, Old Gary turned to Administrator I and inquired, “Does Your Excellency find our presence unwelcome?”
“Far from it. As companions introduced by Your Majesty of the Humans, you’re certainly our honored visitors.”
Administrator I fixed his gaze on Old Gary briefly, though doubtful, and managed a cunning grin, shifting topics: “Very well, please proceed inside, distinguished guests. The feast commences this evening.”
With those words, Administrator I motioned courteously and started guiding them ahead.
Stepping into the alien Shadow Market, Leo Ray surveyed the surroundings and observed more keenly.
In contrast to their own Administrator’s Shadow Market, every element here—from the structures lining the streets to the lamps and the pavement—possessed immense scale, obviously designed for Half-Titans and Stone Giants.
Yet, given the colossal gates of the Land of Divine Favor’s city, it was difficult to tell from outside, and no Half-Titans or Stone Giants appeared on the expansive avenues.
To be precise, aside from their party, the entire broad district stood utterly deserted.
Spotting this, Loris, Sina, Gary, and the rest involuntarily knitted their brows.
All understood that the genuine banquet organizers were the Half-Titans and Stone Giants, and as organizers, their absence so far plainly showed they held no regard for the group.
Within the party, solely Leo Ray stayed poised and unruffled, scanning about with keen curiosity.
Leo Ray had foreseen this occurrence. After all, the opponents represented a solid second-class force, so their arrogance was expected, and a goal of the journey was to humble them.
“Hmm? It appears the distinguished guests seem displeased. Have I overlooked something?”
Administrator I sharply detected the odd atmosphere in the group and queried with feigned innocence, a smile playing on his lips.
“Your Excellency the Administrator worries too much.”
Leo Ray subtly arched a brow and commented casually, “I suspect we’re not the sole invitees to this evening’s gathering, right?”
“Haha, truly, nothing escapes Your Majesty of the Humans.”
A touch of mockery laced Administrator I’s tone as he answered, “You’re right, though those visitors are exceptionally prominent, so we must request that you encounter them.”
“Encounter? They’re visitors, just as we are. Why phrase it as ‘encounter’?”
Loris folded his arms and creased his forehead slightly.
“The greater the guest’s status, the unique the reception they get. That’s the unwavering custom of the Shadow Market. Surely Your Excellency knows this?”
Administrator I replied with apparent sincerity: “Moreover, as you’ve likely surmised, I merely supply the location. Those prominent figures are the actual banquet organizers. How could I meddle in the hosts’ choices? I seek your comprehension of my role.”
“If they’re hosting the banquet, how can they ignore their guests?”
Loris, refusing to yield, huffed disdainfully: “Are the banquet hosts simply a horde of rude savages?”
“A mere feral lion, so bold!”
A booming, deep voice echoed, and a squad of colossal silhouettes dropped from above, instantly shaking the nearby area.
As the ground’s vibrations faded, the foremost massive silhouette advanced, looming over the group and declaring, “Our manners are reserved for the mighty, and you’re merely a pathetic bunch. What manners are due?”
Tracing the sound, Leo Ray observed.
The front giant stood no less than six meters high, his sturdy frame fully clad in gleaming golden armor. Especially striking were the firm chest guard bulging with muscle and the six defined belly guards, drawing attention. The visible skin at the armor’s seams gleamed with a bronze sheen, and he sported no helm. His rugged, bronze visage brimmed with contempt and derision.
Trailing the golden-armored giant, the remaining giants donned matching bronze armor, each with a fully enclosed helmet exposing only eye slits.
Suddenly, the half-Titan powerhouses, their huge bodies eclipsing the light, panted heavily, their breaths resembling successive blasts of gale-force winds, truly exuding unmatched vigor compared to typical peers of their rank.
“Your Majesty of the Humans, this is Bisos, a half-Titan general. We’ve faced him in battles numerous times.”
Thomas, the Rainforest’s deputy chief, moved up and murmured to Leo Ray: “He’s incredibly tough to handle; even our chief has never bested him.”
With that, Thomas also tightened his brows.
In truth, he was being kind to Loris. The reality was that Bisos’s arrivals always forced Loris to flee.
“Tier 6 Peak, huh? The soldiers with him are Tier 6 as well. They’ve come thoroughly equipped.”
Leo Ray’s eyes slightly narrowed, and he gave a faint nod.
“What? Bisos, did we strike a chord?”
Emboldened by Leo Ray’s presence, Loris stood firm without retreat.
“Just some loser underlings; pure delusion!”
Declaring this, Bisos abruptly lifted his enormous fist, launching at Loris.
Seeing this, the group was stunned, unprepared for the direct assault, obviously meant to cow them!
Particularly Administrator I, who didn’t intervene but watched with evident delight, keeping distance with the other Market Guards.
“Don’t assume this chief dreads you!”
Loris responded swiftly, thrusting his fist to counter.
Boom!
With a deafening explosion, Loris staggered back multiple steps; though his energy shield held, his energy waned noticeably. He was clearly outmatched.
“You’re nothing but worthless, powerless scum. Allow this general to school you, you savage lion!”
Bisos’s gigantic body, akin to a collapsing peak, charged at Loris anew!
Just then, a lofty figure dashed ahead directly into Bisos’s huge fist.
Boom!
Another tremendous blast rang out. This round, the giant commander recoiled several paces, almost falling, appearing utterly disheveled.
“Who might you be?”
Sensing a jolt, Bisos’s stare grew grim and icy.
