Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong Chapter 2733: 1501: The Lord's Inquiry and Deployment

“City Lord, feel free to speak your mind.”
Leo Ray shifted his attention away from the freshly erected stone tablet in front of him and turned toward Book.
“Truth be told, Lord Brave, the initial two groups of heroes got summoned within the Grand Temple by the Deity itself, while you and your allies appeared straight in the district, which led General Curry to suspect at first that your sudden arrival tied into the ‘Corrosion’ plot, since nothing like that had ever happened before.”
The elderly Book inclined his head toward Leo Ray and went on: “Moreover, those earlier two waves of heroes arrived fully equipped and aware that their foe was none other than ‘Corrosion’.”
“Huh? But we got yanked here out of nowhere, totally unprepared!”
Moli pouted and wrinkled her forehead: “This Deity is obviously playing favorites! Total favoritism!”
With that said, Moli ducked her head and slipped behind Leo Ray, as if worried about provoking the Deity and inviting some heavenly wrath.
“Your Majesty, what caused this odd turn of events?”
Grey Elder showed no signs of frustration, though he did crease his brow a touch.
“I’d skip this kind of special treatment any day, seeing as the stone tablets for those first two Lords are basically sprouting weeds.”
Leo Ray gave a wry smile and replied: “From where I stand, it feels less like favoritism and more like a rush job, considering how swiftly the prior two Lords met their ends—especially the second one, who tumbled into that honey trap in the most baffling way.”
“Maybe the Deity had only geared up for two rounds of Lords to defend the city, never dreaming they’d drop so fast.”
At Leo Ray’s explanation, enlightenment dawned on the entire group.
The Lord has a point; unlike the thoroughly readied Lords from the opening two summons, we come across as hasty substitutes, like a backup to the backup plan.
Evidence of that shows in those shadowy silhouettes that flickered during the spatial merge and the start of teleportation.
The Deity must have spotted us venturing into the Ancient Relics and hastily set up the spatial transfer and barrier; otherwise, with prior setup, we’d have been whisked here the moment our feet crossed the threshold.
Noting the looks of sudden clarity on everyone’s faces, Leo Ray felt no easing in his chest.
Truthfully, another angle exists: the guiding voice might have ramped up the challenge on purpose this round.
Had advance notice come my way, I could’ve at least rallied powerful figures from the Rainforest Fortress Alliance, Desert Alliance, Broken Valley Alliance, or those posted at Lion City.
As these thoughts crossed Leo Ray’s mind, the aged Book bobbed his head in vigorous agreement with the young lord’s insight: “Lord Brave speaks true; just last night, I caught the Divine Revelation myself, revealing that by dispatching a particular magic signal paired with earnest invocations, fresh heroes could be called forth—and sure enough, today brought Lord Brave’s arrival.”
Finishing his words, the old Book grasped his Magic Wand, murmuring the invocation as a distinct magical pulse spread outward.
“Your Majesty, that’s exactly the magic signal this old servant picked up earlier!”
Guided by a handful of priests, Calvin and the sentinel powerhouses rushed in, offering bows to Leo Ray in respectful salute.
“So the City Lord was the one who broadcast the magic signal? Now the sequence of happenings falls into place.”
Leo Ray dipped his head in acknowledgment, the full puzzle now clicking together for him.
“Lord, remember the Dwarf Elf teleportation array at the relic’s gateway and those Dwarf Soldiers we spotted moments ago.”
Broy directed the Alchemy Puppets to hoist him higher and murmured to Leo Ray; being a Dwarf Elf by birth, he clearly held deep interest in such matters.
“Yes, this marks our last question.”
Leo Ray agreed with a nod and promptly voiced the concern.
“Lord Brave, here’s the story: prior to the Era of Blankness, Observation City stood as a joint creation of Dwarf Elves and the Human Clan, when Dwarf Elves and Humans alike roused at once across the city’s many spots.”
Without holding back, the old Book answered: “The chronicles note that while the city endured unscathed, survivors numbered pitifully few, their thoughts wiped clean, struck by the sense that in an instant, time had reshaped the world—loved ones vanished, yet no clue lingered on the catastrophe.”
“So Observation City arose from Dwarf Elves and Human Clan hands together—no surprise the teleportation array bears Dwarf Elf craft, and with that, our final mystery unravels.”
Leo Ray rubbed his chin lightly, nodding in contemplation.
Yet that misses the heart of it; what truly nags is that these folks here plainly weathered the Era of Blankness too.
The key difference lies in this: encompassing the city, the Silver Fire Kingdom didn’t fully crumble but persisted, unlike my world where the Silver Fire Kingdom obliterated entirely, fading into history’s ashes.
“This suggests a parallel realm for sure, with the split likely rooted right in the Era of Blankness.”
“Did the Era of Blankness spawn these parallel worlds? Was it some freak accident, or the guiding voice’s scheme? And what motive could drive such a move?”
“To grasp why this came about, unraveling the Era of Blankness’s secrets seems crucial.”
With that in mind, Leo Ray steadied his thoughts and spoke once more: “City Lord, could you share more on the local history?”
