Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong Chapter 2719: 1493: The Depths of the Cave (Part 2)
Kara inclined her head toward Leo Ray again and recapped, “This is the entire sequence of events.”
“Human Clan… ahem, Your Majesty, it’s indeed possible to transmit magic communication through the teleportation array.”
Respecting Leo Ray’s status, Moli chose a formal address with a slight nod, “Even when one side of the array ceases to function, the opposite end might still operate; in theory, sending signals one way should work just fine.”
“I agree completely.”
Leo Ray gave a nod, his eyebrows knitting together a bit, “The real question is, where exactly did this magic communication come from? Was it sent on purpose or by chance? And if deliberate, what exactly was the sender trying to tell us?”
“Your Majesty makes a good point; that spot is an abandoned, obscure ruin, so how could any magic communication emerge from such a forsaken place?”
Old Nick’s eyes bulged as he burst out, “Could it possibly be… it’s…”
At those words, Leo Ray simply clapped Old Nick on the shoulder, cutting him off before he could finish. Obviously, Old Nick meant to mention “Corrosion,” but to him, that represented an immense ordeal.
“Regardless of the details, this is exactly what we must unravel moving forward.”
Leo Ray steered the discussion and addressed the group, “Be it deliberate or random, friendly or threatening, no obstacle will stop our advance.”
Leo Ray’s declaration sparked renewed energy in the listeners, who all nodded vigorously in support.
While conversing, the team had traversed the fortress and entered the valley.
Following Kara’s lead, Leo Ray soon stood at the cave’s opening.
The site bristled with vigilant guards, armored troops positioned all around; a sprawling camp had been set up nearby, encircling the entrance entirely.
A massive stone barrier sealed the cave mouth, shutting it off securely.
This sight prompted a soft sigh from Leo Ray.
Not just his reserve forces, but even the Outer Region allies and the mighty Giant Dragon proved powerless against “Corrosion,” and he had already warned them of its horrifying power.
Yet the troops displayed no trace of dread, their expressions brimming with steadfast grit, aware that any abrupt danger might only allow them moments to hold the line.
As he reflected with that sigh, Leo Ray’s eyes landed on Old Nick close by. Confronting echoes of his grim history, Old Nick shivered faintly, but resolve etched his weathered features.
“With all these valiant fighters at my back, how could I possibly hold back?”
That resolve burned in Leo Ray’s mind as he directed the elite escorts to ready themselves for combat, then gave Kara a nod, “Very well, let’s open it up.”
“At your order, Your Majesty.”
Kara saluted with a hand over her heart and, together with the sentries, swung the door wide, exposing the shadowy cave interior to the group.
“This path holds plenty of unknowns; a handful of you will join me within, but the rest of the troops remain outside.”
Leo Ray acknowledged Asher Porter, Kara, Calvin, and Old Nick with a nod before striding ahead into the cave, Moli and the bodyguards trailing close.
Inside the cavern, Leo Ray took in more details.
It resembled a typical underground tunnel at first glance; traces of Demon Beast tracks and dangling spider silk appeared now and then, though an eerie chill permeated the space, making it far cooler than the surface air.
Echoes of their boots resounded through the passage, and soon they arrived at the cavern’s innermost chamber.
The area opened up generously, lit by brilliant magical orbs that chased away the gloom, fostering a false sense of security, save for a lingering foul odor from past Demon Beast occupants.
“Your Majesty, this was the spot for the teleportation array, doubling as the Demon Beasts’ hoard!”
Positioned near a side opening, Old Nick addressed Leo Ray, his tone quivering just a touch.
“Show me.”
Leo Ray motioned for Old Nick to step aside and led the way into the storage chamber.
A quick scan revealed little out of the ordinary, until the room’s distant wall, where intricate magical runes etched the ground, the surrounding floor polished spotless.
“Without a doubt, it’s a teleportation array long left to ruin!”
Moli’s small frame darted forward, landing at the chamber’s end as she crouched to examine it closely.
Kara, Calvin, and the rest traded surprised looks. Moli had pulled her hood back on, her voice turning raspy once more, hiding her identity. Still, her lightning-fast moves hinted at mastery over spatial arts.
His Majesty’s followers truly overflowed with concealed prowess.
That said, this relic from antiquity was a puzzle from bygone eras, complex and baffling, liable to induce vertigo after prolonged study. Could it actually spring back to life?
Just as the doubt flickered through their minds, Moli lifted her gaze and informed Leo Ray, “Your Majesty of the Humans, my earlier assessment holds true. Though this end of the teleportation array lies dormant, the far side retains partial activity. Direct travel won’t work, but channeling energy pulses such as magic communication remains within reach!”
“Great, is it feasible to revive this end?”
Leo Ray inclined his head faintly and inquired.
“Nothing major; despite its age, this array amounts to child’s play; cracking it poses no trouble at all.”
The figure in the pink hood shot a look at Broy and Konet, the Dwarf Elf specialists present, her voice brimming with assurance.
“Eh? This turns out to be the ancient legacy from our forebears?”
Broy rubbed his head, utterly taken aback.
Leo Ray, meanwhile, nodded thoughtfully. After all, the Dwarf Elf’s Eternal Night Magic Box had turned up close to Viennas City, within another Dwarf Elf ruin.
Thus, encountering yet another Dwarf Elf site here came as no shock.
That notion had barely formed in Leo Ray’s thoughts when Moli traced a few effortless lines across the floor. A potent surge of energy erupted, materializing a rippling gray portal that gleamed before the assembly.
In an instant, the portal’s watery gray shimmer spread waves throughout the cave, leaving all onlookers stunned.
Kara and her companions, in particular, stared in wide-eyed wonder. They hadn’t anticipated such rapid unraveling of this timeworn array!
Even the Grey Elder among the escorts mirrored that astonishment beside Kara’s group.
Previously, the Mercenary Guild had poured every resource into it without success or even a hint. Yet this hooded pink stranger proved incredibly capable, their expertise remarkably deep.
Impressive though it was, the group’s attention soon returned to Leo Ray, their faces alight with eager anticipation.
Even a powerhouse of such enigmatic skill paved the way for His Majesty, underscoring his unparalleled stature once more!
“Heh, aren’t I impressive?”
Sensing the admiring gazes, Moli planted her hands on her hips, clearly pleased with her feat.
“Impressive indeed, truly remarkable; keep up the good work.”
Leo Ray offered a faint smile, turning his hand to produce Rolanddel, then spoke to the others, “Now, let’s reveal all the secrets.”
With those words, Leo Ray advanced through the teleportation gate, the rest encircling him closely.
