Leo Ray surged with power, unleashing a thunderbolt that the demon's black fog barrier absorbed unscathed, but Sheila and Little Jie's relentless magical barrages began thinning the protective veil around its head. As the demon lunged furiously at Leo Ray, overwhelming his defenses, he shifted to a kiting strategy, aided by the pink-hooded person's space manipulation to slow the beast, allowing ranged attacks to keep it on the defensive. Enraged by the unexpected divine-like resistance from the Stone Spirits, the demon targeted the hooded figure in vain, its barrier weakening further amid the onslaught, prompting Leo Ray to declare its impending doom and rally his allies. The demon's chilling laughter echoed, dismissing them as mere ants.

With the fall of that eerie and lethal voice, a fierce tempest exploded inside the Dark Hall, as chilling winds filled every corner. From the heavens above, a gigantic pillar of dark mist plunged down, merging right away with the demon's colossal form.

Empowered by this enormous black fog pillar, the demon's fearsome presence skyrocketed even further. The protective shield, already severely damaged by Leo Ray and his companions, returned to full strength, appearing even more robust than earlier.

"This is bad, that presence matches the earlier Undead Spirit Restriction Barrier perfectly—this creature is drawing from the black fog miasma beyond too!"

Frank reacted quickest, shouting it out loud.

Upon hearing those words and piecing together the circumstances, Leo Ray's face turned darker by the second.

It was clear now that as long as the outer black fog wasn't fully depleted, this beast would probably stay at its maximum power.

From the moment we entered the Land of the Undead, the black fog's thickness defied description, practically endless. So, wouldn't that leave the enemy unbeatable?

"Just like what happened before with the Malevolent Deity's Chosen Son, these foes always rely on this same ploy."

Sweat poured in big drops down Leo Ray's brow, his breathing growing heavier with each passing second.

In the past, the Malevolent Deity's Chosen Son drew strength from the Tree of Blood and Darkness; smashing it ended the threat. Yet this monster pulls from the black fog covering the whole area. Destroying all that mist—how could anyone do it?

Standing near Leo Ray and eyeing the demon's huge frame linked to the black fog, the figures in pink hoods sensed the dire turn of events, their faces mirroring his somber look.

Prior to this, guided by Leo Ray, everyone battled fiercely and caught a brief glimpse of hope.

However, the thick black fog now crashing down from the sky had completely sealed off that sliver of light, plunging all into utter gloom, rife with doom and hopelessness.

"Insects, your end starts now!"

A bone-chilling voice rang out; the demon's visage twisted in rage, its line of crimson eyes glowing fiercely. Around its enormous frame, innumerable corrosive spheres the size of heads formed instantly, packed like a raging rainstorm, hurtling straight at our group!

The very next instant, those corrosive spheres, while hanging in the air, got yanked forward in a flash, now mere breaths from hitting us!

"Be careful, the enemy has activated space control once more!"

Scarce had the pink-hooded individual spoken when a relentless barrage of corrosive blasts detonated nearby, the noise ear-splitting.

Because of how spread out we were, Leo Ray, strengthened by Little Jie, along with the mighty pink-hooded allies, successfully summoned either an Absolute Defense Barrier or a spatial shield, dodging major harm from the foe's opening assault.

At the same time, Frank, Old Gary, and Yoyo fought for their lives in vain.

Confronted by the onslaught of corrosive spheres resembling a savage gale, unable to dodge, their protective fields held only briefly before cracking apart all at once, hurling them through the air.

Even worse, the demon gave no pause, unleashing another flood of corrosive spheres that surged toward us without mercy or end!

Witnessing this scene, be it the pink-hooded warriors or Frank and the rest scrambling to their feet, despair etched across every face.

All had seen the devastation those corrosive spheres wrought; barriers gone, nobody could survive a follow-up blow from the demon!

Just as the next torrent of unstoppable spheres neared the exposed Frank and his companions, a resolute silhouette bearing three amulets dashed in first. A dazzling golden Absolute Defense Barrier expanded outward, shielding them all.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

One by one, the corrosive spheres detonated against the barrier's surface. Inside its protection, the earth still trembled violently beneath their feet.

Frank, Old Gary, and Yoyo gazed at the solid form standing guard before them—it was undoubtedly Leo Ray himself.

"We thank you, Human Sovereign, for coming to our rescue!"

Shaking from the terror, Old Gary leaned on his blade to rise, intent on bowing to Leo Ray, only to be held back by him.

"Old Chief, weren't you the one aiding me earlier in that subterranean chamber?"

Leo Ray steadied him, then turned to support the sobbing-with-relief Frank and Yoyo, grinning as he said: "You've all backed me up when it counted most—how could I just watch without acting?"

Once he finished, Leo Ray's eyes shifted to the Absolute Defense Barrier upheld by Little Jie.

The attacks kept pounding without cease, endless dark spheres whistling in, causing the barrier's face to erupt in spurts of dark ooze that hissed with acidic fury.

As the golden magical glow on the barrier's surface faded bit by bit, Leo Ray's forehead creased deeply.

Following his orders, Sheila was pouring all her support into Little Jie, pushing him toward the edge of half-step Tier 7. Add in the surge from ability enhancement, and together they still couldn't turn the tide.

Aware that the enemy's strength appeared boundless, if things dragged on like this, their downfall was inevitable and soon.
