In the shadowy depths of the Bone Hall, the Witch Demon Leader maniacally observes Leo Ray and his bewildered companions through a crystal ball, revealing that the giant city contains two identical spaces manipulated by the looming shadow's supreme power. The Leader sneers at the impending extermination of the Human Emperor's followers by bewitched ants, vowing a fate worse than death for their repeated disruptions, while scenes depict the protagonists' strongholds under siege by eerie auras. The massive shadow, emanating dense deathly energy, reprimands the kneeling Leader for impatience, affirms its past control over Chosen Sons of God, and anticipates full power restoration through widespread destruction to usher in the Light of Chaos. They discuss the supreme deity's survival from the Battle of Winter's Chill, which sparked the Era of Blankness by expelling Divine Realm hypocrites, though its prolonged silence remains a mystery beyond mortal comprehension. As the eerie aura surges outward like a storm, the shadow activates the manipulated forces.

...

Outside the hall where our powerhouses had assembled, the bizarre energy grew ever more potent, and the warriors from the two alliances, their eyes red with fury and weapons gleaming coldly, drew nearer to our group step by step.

"Everyone, what's our next move?"

Right in the middle of the surrounded forces, Broy, soaked in perspiration, addressed Grey Elder, Yonir, Shuert, Crisis, Fanny, and the rest.

Right then, the powerhouses serving under Leo Ray—from the Human Clan, Dwarf Elf, Flower Fairy, Wood Fairy, Troll, and beyond—found themselves completely encircled by the forces of the two alliances.

In both quantity and power, we stood utterly outmatched.

"Some kind of mind-affecting enchantment must be controlling them."

Shuert's face remained stoic and grave as he observed the chaos around them intently, adding, "Without breaking that hold, we're nothing but foes in their sight."

"Yet the one casting it has to be buried deep inside the massive city—how could we possibly reach it to undo the spell?"

Clutching her magic staff firmly, Crisis directed her team to ready defenses on the sly, her brow furrowed as she declared, "It's utterly hopeless!"

"Our Lord has vanished for now; we can't let ourselves drop here no matter what!"

Grey Elder's face showed unyielding resolve, and as he gazed at the confused Loris and Sina, he bellowed, "Leaders, this is the enemy's scheme—halt your forces at once!"

"Exactly, a scheme—this is nothing but a scheme! Why would we ever strike at those loyal to Your Majesty of the Humans?"

At those words, Sina's face filled with desperation; deep down she knew the truth, yet her body refused to obey, leaving her frozen in place.

Being a warrior focused on physical might, Loris seemed hit hardest, lost in a stupor, deaf to all noise, his expression vacant and unresponsive.

Anyone attuned to that eerie energy could tell it clung thickest around the pair, forming an unseen shield that severed their ties to the world beyond.

"Lord Leader, rein them in now!"

Clan Leader Lannis, his features twisted in worry, begged Sina earnestly.

Though touched by the effect himself, he clung to his senses thanks to his close bonds with Leo Ray, plus the fact that Leo Ray had rescued his daughter, the Masked Man Emily.

Feeling powerless, Lannis glanced about once more, his anxiety spiking as he cried out, "Your Majesty of the Humans, where in the world are you?"

But even before Lannis could finish speaking, a surge of overwhelming force erupted, and the frenzied warriors of the two alliances, eyes blazing red, launched assaults on our powerhouses from every angle!

Boom! Boom! Boom!

In the midst of thunderous blasts from clashing energies, once the clouds of dust from spells and strikes cleared, a solid protective shield had sprung up around our group, enveloping everyone.

Wood Fairies excelled at weaving all sorts of barriers, and despite the rush, erecting a quick defensive layer posed no issue.

Still, after fending off the initial onslaught, the barrier's glow faded noticeably, and the Wood Fairies upholding the magic inside grew weak, a few teetering on exhaustion, showing it wouldn't hold much longer.

Fortunately, our other Mages pitched in too, combining efforts to just manage blocking the enemy's barrage.

Without a second to recover, the following assault hit like a raging tempest, shaking the ground violently.

"Cease this madness—what's gotten into all of you?"

As tensions boiled over, the Broken Valley Alliance's warriors could no longer stand idle; led by their captains, they advanced to intervene, yet the blood-mad fighters from the two alliances refused to yield, some even wheeling on the Broken Valley group, igniting brutal clashes all around.

By now, the once-cohesive allies on our side had descended into total disarray, shouts of battle echoing far and wide, murderous aura thickening the air.

...

At the same spot within Forest White Giant City, Leo Ray, the pink-hooded man, Frank, old Gary, and Stone Spirits such as Youyou remained oblivious to the noise, still piecing together what was happening.

"Your Excellency, with no signs of your spatial disruption lingering here, might the foe have secretly mended it and whisked our powerhouses away to somewhere else by force?"

Having tried and failed multiple times to reach his followers via Mind Talk, Leo Ray mulled it over briefly before questioning the pink-hooded man.

"That crossed my mind initially, but their methods seem far too advanced; even a seventh-stage powerhouse shouldn't mend the spatial mess I wrought with crystal crystals so swiftly."

The pink-hooded man answered with a hint of doubt, "Should that be the case, their power would be downright frightening."

"Wait, if they truly held such might, why let us shatter the array eye without interference?"

Youyou shook its head decisively and stated, "Something else has to be at play here!"

"You're onto something, and since they're hiding in shadows with all this trickery, they likely lack the raw power to crush us outright—no need for these ploys otherwise."

Leo Ray eyed the nearby skeletons, giving a thoughtful nod before continuing, "From this angle, their aim boils down to one thing: scattering our fighting forces."

"Yet how exactly did they pull this off? And where exactly are our powerhouses now?"

Old Gary's tone brimmed with bewilderment, circling the puzzle right back.

"So, grasping their tricks is key to unraveling our predicament, isn't it?"

Leo Ray's thoughts raced anew, and moments later, struck by an idea, he turned to the pink-hooded man: "Since they haven't fixed the spatial disruption, your handiwork persists—that's our clue!"

"Lord, the marks of spatial disturbance are plainly gone."

Xiao Jing cocked its head, evidently puzzled by Leo Ray's implication.

"Actually, the spatial disturbance endures; it simply isn't showing in this spot of ours."

Leo Ray nodded toward Xiao Jing and elaborated: "Put more sharply, our current zone never had a separate spatial disturbance from the start!"

"Young human, are you suggesting the city's interior splits into dual realms?"

The pink-hooded man caught on quickest, enlightenment dawning as he said, "That would explain it; with half-body space techniques, folding space could indeed forge twin identical zones within the city!"

"Meaning the area we stepped into isn't the true inner city?"

Old Gary's voice carried a flash of insight too, as he burst out, "While our powerhouses linger in the real inner city, awaiting our return?"

"That's the sole explanation."

The pink-hooded man gave a subtle nod of agreement, "The fiend's tactics are devilishly clever, leaving us blindsided."

"And behind this move lies their intent to split our forces?"

Xiao Jing gnashed its silver teeth, brow creased in frustration, "Such sly deceit."

"Not quite; I suspect their arsenal goes beyond this—recall the elaborate illusions they crafted, likely meant to stall us."

A trickle of chill sweat traced down Leo Ray's brow unbidden as he pressed on.

"Stalling us? In theory, our collective might pales against the main host, so if stalling's the game, they'd target them first and hit us hard right after."

The pink-hooded man reflected briefly, then gasped in realization, "Ah, I see! Are they enchanting those powerhouses under some spell?"
